Seeing if we can lay out Karl's 1971 GMC COE on custom air suspension.

Esther and I take a trip to BC and I go visit Karl from Make it Kustom. In this video I work on the electrical and plumbing and wiring the air ride, while Karl works on building the front 3 link suspension.

  • These guys just go for it. It works, too. I luv watching this. Is actually not even nameable, the same as production. It needs to have a Brent and Karl signature to it. I've felt that for a long time. Man, these guys can go and make it their own, truly, these guys can build anything..

  • I remember when Karl had this baby under a tarp at his old shop and unwrapped it to show us, that was like 5 years ago. I said to myself man that's a cool truck right there! And I'm a Ford guy but that truck is awesome I must admit. Nice work fellers! Glad to see her getting the loving she deserves! 😉✌

  • Man my dream has always been to do what you do. I remember when I was younger I would work 12 hours come home and do my restoration or fab work until midnight or later. Everything from classic cars, rock crawlers to sand and desert cars. I was tired but I was happy. I miss that.

  • Both did a excellent job. That truck is bad ass. GM made that style cab for almost 20yrs. Ford made a similar style from 1959-1990. Glad to see one being brought back to life and updated with airbags.

  • Nuts and ferrules went by the wayside with the Flintstones. The norm in industry and elsewhere are push- in fittings. Push the hose in to connect and use the plastic locking ring to release the line to pull it out. No-brainer stuff.

  • I love the build of the COE. I am not in love with the plumbing. The brackets that hold the air tank are awesome but I would have hid the valves and plumbing inside the frame so the ugly stuff would be out of site. I realize this is already in the past for you folks. And not my project. The work is top notch.
