  • Can we just appreciate the fact that dice (at the time) not only added more maps and weapons in the dlc packs than what was promised, but a crew stayed after the apocalypse dlc to bring us more weapons and variants. ❤

  • It was really fun after all these weapons in BF1, particularly the SMG and learning about real history in which people thought WW1 was going to carry on for another ten years and started making SMGs as the evolution of warfare for clearing trenches

    • C&Rsenal is another great channel that started around then. They go over nearly every gun that was really used in the war.

  • Les go one of my favorite topics. One of the things that have alway interested me is the idea of making these guns in the modern world and getting them to work (if possible). Like, could someone in the modern world make a hellreigel that functions as it was intended all those years ago? Idk, it’s a neat idea.

    • Probably. Someone built a Fliegerfaust recently. Certainly people out there with enough time and talent. Legally difficult though.

    • @@Flakfire yeah and it’s not very useful considering how developed modern weapons technology is today. But, it’s still a neat thought.

  • BF1 was a masterpiece! There is a lesson for DICE to learn, develop a game from passion and not purely with profit in mind - the profit will follow the passion ;)

No way will EA will get my preorder following battlefield 1 as I was disappointed with games released after BF1, I will now wait until after release to make that decision. @flak- love your vids- enjoyed playing streaming marbles with you as well. Keep up the good work.

  • 3:45 there’s a good reason the Pederson Devices were scrapped. C&Rsenal did a video on the Pederson Device and got one firing, and they had a bunch of malfunctions with the gun. After only being in storage years after the war, they tested them and they virtually all had problems. By the time they were scrapped, semi automatic rifle technology had been matured enough with the adoption of the M1 Garand in 1936. There was really no need for them anymore.

  • I've seen freight inventories that indicate around 20 9mm submachine guns, likely of the 08/18 pattern (battlefield captures, one surmises) were sent by the USSR as aid to the Republican forces in the Spanish Civil War. If there are any other extant examples of the elusive SMG 08/18, Spain would be the place to start looking!
