  • The second setup was by far the favorite. Not only did the Rode Podmic sound better than the Beacn, but the Insta360 camera was easily the best looking camera. One thing I've wondered though with these videos, you really haven't mentioned the Steelseries Sonar software at all. Would be curious to hear what you think of it, seeing as it gives people more control over their audio completely for free. Just seems like it would be something that would be right up this channels alley.

  • I think I would prefer the insta 360 link just because having 1080p60 with all that functionality is nice. Plus I think the colors looked slightly better on there than the elgato facecam pro. 4k30 isn't really a huge missed opportunity since a lot of people just do 1080p as standard. Plus, I can punch in more without losing too much resolution.

  • Wow! this comes in super handy so far... I was just some days ago browsing through some of your setup videos as I need to do some recordings - and my USB Rode Podcaster is not up to the task (dynamic, cardioid USB mic). I put a foam on top with a pop filter but nothing... only thing made it better is configuring the filters in OBS... (noise suppression, gain, equalizer, Expander, compressor & Limiter) As I understand the Stream Deck + is providing this features through its interface via software (Wave Link) right? so any microphone connected to it, like elgato Wave:3 or the XLR Wave DX... and of course BEACN one. On this last one I understand that it comes with all those filters in the mic hardware... noise suppression, limiter, compressor, equalizer, expander... etc... so we can affirm "this is the one" right? (for those of us having issues with microphones...) am I right? :)

  • Godox ES45 for $100 is basically the Elgato Key Light, but I like it more b/c I don't need any wifi setup and working for the LIGHT to work (which is actually important for me) Elgato Key lights are nice for integrating into streamdecks (which I have 3x) but I prefer the Godox for 1/2 the price and the same/better CRI/control but with a physical control

  • I gradually bought some new gear over time. The one thing I'm missing at the moment is some lighting, thinking my Razer Kiyo (not the pro version) with the ring light was going to be good enough, but after experimenting with lighting I do need at least two more lights. I used your recommendations on one of your other videos and my green screen came out a bit better with a 2 light setup with the Kiyo's ring light. The Kiyo is a little on the lower end of quality compared to the Elgato Facecam but it'll be good enough for my purposes for now. Definitely bookmarking this for later. Microphone I'm going to use is the fifine AM8. It's both XLR and USB but currently using USB.

I had the camera before, so anyone who has a camera with HDMI out already....you save yourself buying a webcam. I've gotten used to the Loupedeck software and love the way it works (Yes I disagree with your all in one profile point lol). And I green screen out my background, so don't need lights quite like that. Just one LED panel from Godox. I do miss the remote control option but haven't used it because I remove the background anyways. But ya, just a thought. Streamer X does a ton for one device.

  • I enjoy the crazy amount of tech that we have available to us these days. It’s super awesome, but I need you to make a video of super high end setups. Like Mirrorless cameras, or shotgun mics so the microphone can finally be out of the way because I personally love those setups the most and have no clue if there’s new tech for that nowadays. I know you had a dream one day that a camera had a streamer input. Has that still not have been created by canon or sony? I’ve also jumped into audiophile stuff and using some of this streamer gear can remove that. For example I want to use my dac/amp but I also still want to use the mixing from goxlr. Update: just watched your video “pro setups waste of money” that’s perfect and you mentioned you wanted to make a video haha. Is the a5100 Sony or canon m200 still mirrorless cameras you recommend?

  • I have a similar situation. I've noticed my my face occasionally looks red-orange. I notice it happens when I have a red, orange, or gold outfit on. I think what's happening is the auto white balance is sampling the color of my outfit and it's trying to match the color temperature with it. I've learned not to wear warm colors in my streams. Then, my face is a nice, gold color, which is what I want in my streams. But that's not what's happening with your webcam. Even when I'm on manual white balance, it's tricky to make my face a gold color instead of red when I'm wearing warm colors. So, that's really odd. Maybe it's your background.

  • I have 2 elgato key lights and although they are good, firstly you don't actuality need 2. Infact in most cases it looks better to have 1 on one side of you giving some definition to your face. Secondly, the clamps that come with them suck so much I threw them in the bin and use better budget ones with more height range. Thirdly, if you forget to turn them off, and your pc turns off you have to either reach for the app on your mobile to turn them off or reach around and physically turn them off, which sounds fine, however if you physically turn them off, next time you turn them on you will get flash banged. It's so annoying! Last negative about them, the plug in them is huge and also must be left on at the wall socket all the time, unless you want to pair them every time you turn them on. So yes they have great light, and the stream deck feature is good but for the price, I would advise going with an alternative like Alpha was showing you. 😅

I am a basic, 5 viewer andy with a AT2020 mic into a Foscurite Solo soundcard. sounds painfully boring but i'd argue this here is the most common setup from any content creator without blowing their bank or budget. it's a good mic and a good interface. what can WE do to elevate our setups to the next level with the gear we have? that's a real challenge for you

  • The beacn mic sounds like a $10 mic, I assume it was a setting mistake cause it sounded like an old phone/radio

  • I wish the wave mic sounded better cause I wanna try out the audio software but I already have a stream deck xl and don't need another stream deck. I am currently using voice meeter and hate the software as it makes youtube/other apps sound crackly when being put through the virtual cable

  • don't sleep on the anker c320... it's a bill on amazon, 4k, and is the best for the bank on budget webcams... picture is almost as good as the insta360, just need some tweeks... but from the cameras i've been using, it's a deal... my main is an obsbot 4kmeet, use the insta360 for outdoor stuff, and the c320 for overhead view... also going to get one for my dogs cam too...

  • The issue I have with the Elgato regular FaceCam is that it does not have a manual focus -- it only seems to have an auto focus. My auto focus keeps jumping around. Am I missing something? Manual setting somewhere? Thanks.
