  • Ugh! What were those bugs on the Nevada road? Locusts? Cockroaches? They were crunchy, whatever they were. 🤢

    @jikook7457@jikook745716 күн бұрын
    • Maybe locusts. Looks like there's nothing for them to feed on, but maybe they are just resting during their migration. I was curious enough to look it up. There is no information about locust swarms in Nevada. However, there have been reports of grasshopper swarms in the state. In July 2019, Las Vegas was invaded by a massive swarm of grasshoppers due to unusual weather patterns in southern Nevada1. In June 2021, adult pallid-winged grasshoppers were reported to be traveling north to central Nevada, but they pose no danger and probably won't damage anybody's yard before they're gone in several weeks2. There have also been reports of an infestation of millions of so-called Mormon crickets in at least six counties in Nevada3.

    • Those were TARANTULAS. Google tarantula migrations. They happen September - November in states across the great plains. It's feckin' creepy as all-get-out.
