As an Aussie, this is hilarious, to have a snake catcher on talking about snakes to people listening to learn and understand Aussie language better and potentially coming over to visit, live etc and most people intending to visit Aus are just a little concerned about our snakes lol, you have to have a surf life saver on next time. 😂
You should also tell him to give sort of advice on how to defend yourself against magpies 😂
as a mexican from baja, I learned to speak english with californian accent, but now I'm trying to learn aussie accent, I love it, maybe I'll try to learn british english as well, I love both of them.
Listen to the audio at 1.5 speed, that's aussie English for ya.
Yup, we never speak that slow in real life

I shift from 1.25 to normal😂😂😂
I want to learn multiple accents so I can randomly switch to different accents day-by-day and make people go crazy
Lmao.. maybe I will do this too
Yesss

Bloody oath mate :)
Excellent job , I have been looking for this kind of video. The part I liked the most is that you read the comments and do try to help people for whatever they are worried about . Thanks a lot
THIS takes me high from ground. Sir, you actually have saved my years of time with these kind of videos. Well-done. Have a blast!
Thanks for making this video!
Chicago gal here -- actually, the cadence of speech is very similar to chicago-midwestern accent. Big difference: vowel pronunciation. Still, pretty easy for me to follow.
Loved this interview…. it brought back loads of memories 😊 from my childhood in the ‘70s, a husband and wife team, good friends of my parents, captured and released snakes (was lucky to be invited along to witness their skills) in a sugar cane town of FNQ. In the late 2010s I was fond of exploring the hill at the back of a place I rented in Tassie… later learning that it was a hotspot for Tiger snakes, I ne’er did see one on my many barefoot wanderings! Thanks x
interesting and lots to learn! Thank you !
I'm Indian and was fairly confident about speaking in English in my country but when I arrived in Melbourne I was stunned. All I did was simply freeze whenever a native speaker approached me asking something because I just couldn't understand what they were asking me(some people were asking for directions). I've made it so awkward; I acted like I didn't even hear them sometimes and walked away, they were either angry at me or disappointed because they thought I was being rude to them. Another concern I have is making a mistake while speaking. I know it's silly but these are my real anxieties. I hope I'll be a better listener after hearing a few conversations.
That's an interesting comment, especially since you most likely learnt/spoke English since you was a child. Imagine being a non-native who grew up in a non-English speaking environment.
I've been listening yours for a long time, huge appriciate that makes me fun
Very useful. Thanks mate
I am glad that i could understand the interview. I ve been in Australia for 5 years now.

Long ago we had a 3-way convo with me in Indiana, another in Michigan, and the 3rd in Newcastle NSW. About 10 minutes in, the Aussie giggled & said she loved OUR accents. Of course we told her SHE was the one with the accent, not us! ROFL
so amazing.
This 's a kind of English I 've been trying to cope with.
Love Australian accent
Amazing I wish every Australian speak like u .I can understand u very well but Aussie's
Aussies pass over my head
Luckily I can understand almost 100% while higly focusing, anyway the Aussie accent is quite different from British and American accents which I could easily understand and speak in
Thank you! I´m trying to lear how to aussie for a while now and this really helps!
Absolutely fine for me, i can understand bloody oath mate!
I used to think AUSTRALIA was boreing and had no culture but now I'm older and IV been overseas I understand that everything I have ever wanted is here, there is no other way but my memories and how the places and spaces I lived in as a kid and a teen and a young man and now at 44, Aussies are different I found this out when I went overseas. I ALLways wanted to live in Paris or London or Berlin but when I went there all I did was miss home. Everything I want and need is in this land. I love Aussies and I'm glad I am AUSTRALIAN. When you fall in love with a AUSTRALIAN women I think they are simply the best, I know i am biased but there is no way I can relate to another that has not grown in this strange space. I dated a lovely English women when I lived in London but it felt weird, she was awesome but it's like I have to have a aussy to love. I met different women from different European countries it's not that they were not wonderful humans it's this strange love I have for this land and its people. The Aussie WOMEN IV loved are just so perfect for me. It's hard to explain ,it's not about how they look or anything like that it's something I still can't quit identify but it's crucial for me to have love. And when I think of that feeling I see the blue mountains. Like that is a image of what love is, the blue mountains. I don't know why because IV lived there only z few years when I was a kid but somehow it's imprinted on my mind love and ahhh I can't even articulate it at all but it's so awesome.
I'm learning accents for skill, it'll be useful in the future
I really love the aussie accent
I would like to say thank you peter for this highly useful content and I would like to contact you AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Iam here in Australia 3 months ago and Iam struggling with the language if any courses or advices. It will be paid sure

Hei, Nice I'm From Bangladesh. Thanks, for your channel
After many many years of wildlife rescue and rehab in Australia, I am still stunned that actual vets will call me to pick up a ring tail possum and I get there to find a brush tail possum, or an owl that turns out to be a Tawny.... They are SO different to my eyes (size alone should give it away). Not surprised people mix up snakes if even a vet cant tell native animals apart...though I kinda get it... last I heard (some years back now), a vetertinary degree devoted an entire 25 hours to native animals out of the whole 4 year course. I'm no snake handler (tempted to get into it though), but I LOVE my "pet" ceiling Diamond Python.... best rodent contol I've ever had even if I have had to pull a couple of babies out of the bird aviary!
Could u plz display the transcript it's really hard to understand
I think Aussie accent much more easy to understand than local English accent. It sounds like in between with American accent and British accent. However, it’s so difficult for me to speak in Aussie accent when I already have an accent. How can I change ?
Guess what, I opened the transcript of the video and literally just imitate and pronounce it just like both of them... practise makes perfect, try it guys
I am Indonesian and have been living in Melbourne for almost 1.5 years. Unfortunately, I only got few words from those real Aussie conversations without subtitle. As a comparison, I could understand news channel on TV but I couldn't understand the conversation on movie.

Yuan yes. Our conditions describe how difficult real English is...
I have an online interview with aussie based company tomorrow, but I can't understand what the snake catcher guy was saying unless I play it on 0.75 speed. I think I'm doomed xD
I'm a French person, it's very hard for me to understand, I can understand just few words but not the whole conversation :( any advice?

Hi Monia, how do I learn Schtimi from Northern France? I love that dialect and the film.

Mate I’m Aussie but I can’t speak with the accent how do I learn it?
I tried to listen at a speed of 0,75 but I couldn´t understand it either. But listening at 0,5 speed I was able to read and understand and repeat the phrases. Just a tip.!

Growing up in hk and watching a ton of american tv shows, i could understand 80% of the words when they are pronounced in US accent , but in australia, i could understand 40-60% especially when the native speakers there speak really fast.... so sad about my listening skills T__T
Wow.
