  • I was maybe 12 back in the 90's..taking a Greyhound Bus from Chicago to Philly. Got stuck in Cleveland alone from midnight to 8am at a fucked up bus stop all alone. I was playing NBA Jam at the busstop arcade. Some older dude rolled up and started playing the game with me. He lent me one of his headphone earpieces and we played NBA Jam for hours and he had the MASTER DEMO TAPE OF THIS ALBUM before it's release. I think he was headed to Detroit to master this whole album. I heard this shit right after it left Texas on it's way before hitting the Menace || Society album. I will never forget hearing this almost before anyone else but the group themselves. Thanks bro if you're out there still. Thanks for looking out for me at that shady ass Cleveland bus stop while I was just a kid going cross country alone.

  • I was 13 when this album came out and I happened to live Houston. There was no internet, this masterpiece wasn't at many record stores and likely only sold locally....this was when CD players were expensive as hell and I'm not sure they even sold CDs of this album at the time.....thus I had the original cassette which I sold on Ebay for around $500 ten years ago and I'd pay 10x to get it back. :( This track is 6 minutes and never stops delivering! RIP PIMP C. My parents got divorced and I was forced to move to Kansas City a couple weeks before I started my freshman year of high school. Knew nobody which sucked. However I had a cache of underground Houston rap including this album. UGK, street military, gangster nip, the OG Gheto Boys, etc. strangely led to a minor amount of popularity I may not have achieved without this incredible music. High school students in Missouri would never have experienced this at the time if I hadn't migrated and spread these tracks. All of our minds were blown at the time which is why music is so special and taken for granted these days given the ease of access. I actually was a member of the Rap-A-Lot street team at 16 solely because I called them from Missouri and sold them that I could promote in KC, lol. Love this music
