Racing pigeons are selectively bred for their aerodynamic shape, strong wings, navigation abilities, and quality feathers. They possess streamlined bodies, powerful wings, and excellent homing instincts. Their feathers are dense and well-maintained, contributing to their flight efficiency. Eye color and cere condition are also considered, with light-colored iris and clean cere being desirable traits. Racing pigeons must be in prime health and physical condition, displaying alertness and well-toned muscles. Pedigree and performance history are crucial factors, with successful bloodlines highly valued. Breeders and fanciers strive to improve racing pigeons' performance by continuously selecting birds that meet these standards, enhancing their competitiveness in racing competitions.

  • I love my tipplers (which are a different type of pigeon, not a racer). They each individually have their own personalities and are extremely tame if you train them from an early age. They are a fantastic pet
