Funny enough Rico was originally called Ricochet and I’m fairly certain the devs changed it cause everyone referred to him as Rico. I think they changed the name when the remodelled a lot of the brawlers
I think they changed Ricochet to Rico because it was too hard to make skins for Ricochet, but that could also be true

For Cordelius, I think he is named after the “Cordyceps” fungus. Cordyceps is a fungus that literally turns small insects into zombies, and as you mentioned earlier, Cordelius has gone a bit mad from the toxicity of the mushrooms in the forest, almost as if he got zombified by the fungi, completely changing his personality. So his name for me is literally just a combination of the name Cornelius and Cordyceps.
Does that mean that cordelius is from the last of us universe but he sended to starr park?
@@donbebusta well from what I know about starr park, they are kidnapping and mutating their guests into "brawlers" so i'm guessing they used some sort of fungus related methods to make Cordelius.
@@polishgoofball and they are somehow are able to travel between universes and they traveled to the last of us universe and grabed that zombie fungus and then giving it to cordelius to plant it in the starr park gardens so they can use it on other brawlers but cordelius got effected by it but instead of being 100% zombie he became a zombie but he kept his brain ( like albert wesker from resident evil which is also a zombie/horror shooting game )and now he's a human in a zombie body and then they desided instead of mutating future brawlers they give it to cordelius to use them as his weapon

nice video, here's some things I thought of: -"Mortis" means death in Latin, while the word you used is just an adjective -Buzz's name most likely comes from "Buzzkill" -People have a lot of theories on what R-T's name could mean (Radio-television, Recording Tape, Real Time), but his name also sounds like "Artie". His name (R-T=Ar-Tie) gets split in two just like him in game!

I thought fangs name came from Dragon Ball Z’s character Yamcha. His special move’s name is Wolf Fang Fist and he kind of looks like Fang. He also does martial arts. Probably too far fetched haha

Actually, Lola's name was inspired by a Mexican soap opera, called "A Usurpadora", which had a character called Paola Brachio(or something like that) which is very known in Brazil, and the person that created Lola is brazilian.

I think Buzz is named Buzz because he’s a buzzkill. A buzzkill is somebody who is a stickler to the rules and doesn’t allow others to have fun, which fits Buzz pretty well.
Also, Grom has a line where he says "Here comes the big boom!" which means he's referring to himself, since his name means thunder. Also, in WW2, thunder was a codeword that Americans used to see if someone was actually German or not since the Germans couldn't pronounce "th". Idk why I know this but I think it's a cool coincidence

I think Pam's name could be in relation to the word "pamper" which means to "indulge with every attention, comfort, and kindness; spoil". Which relates to her being a mother and a support brawler who heals. As for Piper, it means pipe player, so it could kind of relate to her using a long range weapon, but I digress. It can also be a reference to Mary Poppins since she has the whole lady with umbrella persona going on, and her super is poppin'!

For the new brawlers that came out after this video: Charlie: her name is based on the book/movie Charlotte's Web, and one of the most prominent characters in that book/movie is Charlotte, who is a spider. Mico: the "M" in his name would most likely be there no matter what since he's a monkey, but it might go beyond that. He attacks with some sort of "Mic", and tamarins, a type of monkey, are called "Mico" in portuguese (probably just in brazilian portuguese, as I'm not aware of that word in european portuguese), and this might work since Dani, one of the Brawl Stars community managers, is brazilian. Kit: nothing too deep here, I think his name just comes from the word "kitten". Larry and Lawrie (not out yet, but they've been announced): Lawrie's name comes from the word "law", since he and his twin brother are some sort of police officers in Starr Park, who obviously enforce the law. As for Larry, I think they just gave him a similar name to go nicely with his twins' (even though technically Larry is the main twin, since it's the one you play as).

I personally think that Buzz's name comes from the fact that he's a lifeguard, which often have a lot of rules, for example not letting you jump into a pool aggressively. So most children trying to have fun on the peach/at a pool would call a lifeguard "buzzkill", which in very, very old slang means someone who ruins having fun, which is basically what lifeguards do besides saving lives.
I believe Byron was picked as his name because of being a snake oil salesmen and the snake. Also the devs thought “Byron” was a somewhat intimidating name
