  • Good point about using Forstner bits versus regular drill bits that will pull through the wood / epoxy. (Good decisions comes from experience which comes from making bad decisions :-)

  • I love it. Using epoxy to do something a little bit different like casting objects in a table is probably my favorite thing.

  • Huh. I learned a few things, and that table is gorgeous. I've not seen your content before, and totally earned a subscribe (and full watch to the end!) I've had a bit pull through my project before when inserting inserts - next time, I'll use a forstner bit. I've also had inserts go in wonky, so I'll countersink next time. Thanks!

  • In the video you said the fractal burning machine creates enough voltage to stop your heart. Did you mean current? Sliding your feet on nylon carpet then shocking someone can be in excess of 30,000 volts. I’m a EE too. 😉

    @Custom_CNC_Woodworks@Custom_CNC_Woodworks2 ай бұрын
    • True, but all the current in the world isn’t going to hurt you at 12 volts. How about we agree it’s high voltage with significant current?

  • Just curious... Could you make the gears actually able to spin and create an epoxy case around them? So inside the epoxy part of the table be gears that could be turned.

  • Not sure if this would work as I've never used a belt sander, but for the smaller pieces, could you hot glue a few of them to a board and send the board through it sanding multiple at one time? I know in the vid you said you enjoyed sanding but its always nice to have alternative avenues if the circumstances requires it. Anyways, loved the video and the table came out looking fantastic!

    @bigfoot_wannabe@bigfoot_wannabe2 ай бұрын
    • exactly my thoughts, hot glue, or super glue it on a large board to run it through the sander. I would have gone mad and thrown the pieces into the fire with all that sanding.

    • I thought I was one of the last people to use that word. The original idea was motorcycle or cyclist gears and chains, but it attracted "brotherhood" or worse yet.... cyclists. The worst I get with wood is steam punks.

  • I would have suggested doing a gold or brass colour for the gears inlay. The green just makes it blend in, and in my unprofessional opinion, mutes the effect of the gears.
