Window Tint Comparison: 35% vs 30% vs 25%
👋 How do different window tint shades look on different vehicles?! In today's video we do a quick comparison between our vehicles to show what different percentages of window film looks like! Overall this is the best film you can get for a vehicle, not only does it have the dark color, but it also eliminates heat and block those rays from getting in! The windshield is the best thing we have done to the cars and should have done that sooner, it makes a huge difference!

Very helpful, thank you! 35 seems like the perfect balance.
Glad it was helpful! 35 is good, its not crazy dark looking in some light, but if you want to stay "legal" it's a good way to go haha, I'd do the windshield like we did too, would make it look a little darker.
All three tint jobs look great. Very well done. This vid was also a great chance to see all three vehicles currently in the Bros stable. Looking forward to Mike’s Vette as well. Good video guys! 👍
Yeah this was the first time having everything together not in the driveway! We got some nice pics of everything that day! C8 is getting closer!
I had 20% on my FR-S and I only had 1 cop write me a warning ticket to get it inspected by the dmv but the registration was expiring anyway so I didn’t do it 😂
Great video. It’s so much easier to compare tints while on the car instead of guessing what it will look like. Very informative video. Thank you so much. Enjoy your weekend. Be safe. God bless. 🙏
John Rodriguez Glad you liked it!
Bros FOURR Speed I sure did. It has been awhile since I’ve seen a comparison video on tints. No one takes the time to do these things now a days. Thank you.
John Rodriguez Yeah this is the type of video we originally filmed when we first started KZhead!
Thanks for the video man! I’ve been thinking about which percentage to choose for my Veloster N, and 35% looks to be the perfect sweet spot for me. Appreciate ya!
Thanks for checking out the video! 35% is great percentage overall!
I remember getting my first tint job done way back in 1994 and the laws in NC were that 35 percent was the darkest allowed and a sticker had to be put in the corner confirming it. Haven't had a tint job in years but it seems like it's a little different now in terms of the laws. I must say that to this day I still think the 35 percent is my favorite!
I think the Jawas are a bit more lenient now a days. As long as it doesn't looked 'blacked out' you should be good. But the heat technology is amazing! Even the 70% on the windshield block nearly all the heat just like the darker sides do.
It's 32% today
Your insurance company has the right to reject your claim (and they certainly will) should you hit a pedestrian at night with film covering your front window. It’s not really that cool, in fact it makes the driver look stupid.
@@Surf422 Tinting your windows isn't about being "cool" its about privacy
I'm planning to get my windows tinted on my es1 civic, I really appreciate this video, I'm probably going to get 35% up front, 25% rear windows. Thanks!
Glad I could help! That's a good combo, maybe consider doing 30% up front just to match a little closer! Just a thought!
@@BrosFOURRSpeed would 30 front 2 and 25 rear 3 be okay at night? I drive highway late at night with little to no putside light but i still wanna be able to see out
@Zombie, what did you go with? How is night driving with little to no outside light? I wanna do the same combo but i wanna be able to see out of the windows still at night
I thought it was illegal to tint the windshield?
might go with 35% and 30% looks like the ones I'd go with. it's good balance. Thanks for this video.
Hi, I am from India and ihave booked a Tiago XE in Flame Red Color and waiting for Delivery! Your inputs are Valuable to Me! Thanks a lot 🙏
35% seems sweet spot🤗
And it's legal LOL
@@BrosFOURRSpeed Just picked up an 06 Lexus SC430 convertible. Took it in today for a tint est. 35% is legal in my state, but we have LOTS of cars here with darker and rarely, if ever, do the cops stop you. The guy showed me 35%, 25% & 5%. I decided on 25%. My main goal is heat deflection, but I like the privacy as well & think the darker color would look good on that car. Yet I want to be able to see out at night. You think I'm going too dark at 25? I can always change my mind...but liked the look of that next to the 35% better.
Bros FOURR Speed not in new jersey where i live....
AbunaiZ34Nismo I’m rocking 15% all around (except windshield) on my 4 door sedan and I wish I went darker😅 however still happy with results
@@Oivey2000 I live in Virginia and the front side windows gotta be at least 50% light and rear can be 35%, smh. Plus Virginia's cops can be a hella pain in the butt and we're the only state that doesn't allow us to have radar detectors either.🙄
Thanks fellas for the video. Mom here my son wants 35 all around except windshield. The law here is nothing on the front. The back u can go as dark as u want. Tough decision I don't want him to get pulled over but he really wants it for his birthday. I'm also not a fan of the law telling u what to do with your personal property.
Knock on wood, we've never had any issues with getting pulled over for the tint. 35% is a good legal limit if you want to play it safe, and the 70% we have one the windshield is a first for us, you can't even tell it's there and helps block to sun for sure! The 25% on the tacoma is as dark as I would ever go though!
I live in Florida where it's like direct sunlight 95% of the year so I went with 30%. Thanks for the video 🙂
Oh wow! Yeah My freinds in FL all seem to go really dark on tint! Tint is a must down there! Glad you enjoyed the video!
True, it's brutal here in SoFlo... especially in the dead of summer.
I’m literally about to get my windows tinted 25% and I have awful eyes so u guys answered so many of my questions (especially at 4:15) regarding night driving!
Nice! We've never had issues with these percent levels at night. When you get to 15%, thats when it gets bad
There are always so many variables in how a car will look with tint installed on a vehicle. Some people know what they want but I know it's always a tough choice. Good video.
Glad you enjoyed the video! Yeah different cars show tint differently. My Jeep has the same setup as the Tacoma, but looks even darker!
@@BrosFOURRSpeed oh I totally get it, I Tint every day. That's kinda how I came up with the name Fade To Black... It's tough trying to tell people how tint will look or what shade to go with on what car. I try my best to keep things simple and not to confuse people so they can feel comfortable with their choices.
@@FadeToBlackLLC Cool man! We just did a video tinting the Jeep and got to do a few windows. Fun skill to learn!
I have 20% all around rear & sides & 35% on my windshield of my 2014 Chevy Malibu. Its not too dark & not too light, Its perfect! If I had to go lighter I would rather not have it, it would be a waste of $. I wouldn't put no darker than 35% on my windshield though. 35% windshield is the darkest for driving at night while its raining or fog.
Yeah 35% seems to be a good medium! I like the 25% I have on the truck, but wouldn't go darker then that!
Informative video. I'm still concerned about my night vision through tinted side windows. Ford F150 regular cab... I am considering a 25% tint on the back glass, a 35% on the sides and I believe you have convinced me to go 70% on the front glass just for the UV protection.
With my 25% on the Tacoma, that's as dark as I feel comfortable while driving at night. It's almost getting too dark, but I'm ok with the visibility with it. 35% will be fine on the sides for you!
Thank you so much for this video. I recently bought a pre-owned kia optima that had 15% tint from the rooter to the tooter. All the way around and as much as I like it during the day time, I have issues at night. I'm considering going 35% on front side windows, 25% back side windows and the rear window. Thinking possible slight tint on the front window.
15% is pretty dark all around for sure especially at night. 25% that I have on the Tacoma is as dark as I would go, it's not bad at night, but do able. The 70% on the windshield is worth it, it's a good bit to get that done, but that's where a majoring of the heat comes through!
exactly what i was looking for.Thanks !
Glad we could help! They are all pretty close!
you guys did a great job covering this . 👍🏽
Thanks! Love being able to show the differences. Love having film on all the cars!
I think for my coupe I’m going to do 35 on the front and rear windows and 20 on the rear windshield. Thanks for the good comparison.
Not a bad way to go. Personally I like keeping everything even. 30% all around might look good
@@BrosFOURRSpeed yea I might do 30 all the way around too I’ll have to think about it a little more.
Thanks this was this really helpful
Glad it helped! Nice showing the differences with the tints!
Great video comparison. I need to get my 370Z NISMO tinted. Last time I had my windshield tinted on my truck I got a ticket, so definitely will be going legal this time ha.
Yeah the 70% is only a few % point darker then the glass itself. So we shouldn't have any issues with them. The Xpel film truly blocks the heat and is a world of difference!
This is very helpful guys. I really appreciate it.
Glad you liked it! Love the film on all the cars!
I have 5% all around on my 2020 ram 1500 and 50% down the entire windshield looks amazing in all black
Dang that's cool, I couldn't go that dark, I drive a lot at night and it's pretty dark on the 25%.
I got 2 around the whole car and 50 down the windshield
I stay in Texas so our tint levels are less strict I just wanted to see what 25% looks like so I can make the switch. I'm Currently at 35% in front and 10 in the back an I dont have windshield tint because my tints are so low I dont need it I just have the eyebrow tint on the top of the windshield for days the it's very hot outside so my dash board doesn't get cooked lol.
The windshield makes a big difference compared to the strip! The rest of the windows don't have an affect on the windshield, so you would see a difference doing it!
This is great. Doing 20% on the rear and 30% on the front on my new Stinger...
Cool! That'll be a good percentage for the car!
Thank you very much Bros! What % do you recommend for the front windshield and rear windshield if I get 30 on the sides?
We stuck with 70% since technically the windshield is illegal to tint, at least where we are. So that gave us the projection without being obvious that the windshield was done. And with the rest of the glass and dark interior it makes the windshield look dark too. You can go darker, but if you want to fly under the radar, stick with something a little lighter!
35% its the legal limit for front windows anything on rear windows and rear windscreen, front windscreen any darkness above manufacture line i think i may do 30% all around and do my sun visor
needs to put someone behind the wheel and do the same comparison @Bros FOURR Speed
I think my vote is for the 30. But they all look great. I like the windshield tint. The law in Oklahoma only allows the top 5" of the windshield to be tinted.
Yeah the GT-R looks good with that setup. I'm fine with the 35% on the Supra since its so small. Looks much darker then it is
@@BrosFOURRSpeed HI, Bro. you means the GTR with 30% is enought for rain day at night right ? because the fim is bigger than the supra?
The supra looks lit! White car with light tint 35% looks hot
Thanks! I love the tint on it!
Im thinking 35% in the front driver and passenger, 25% in the back seats and rear. Anyone having 25% in the back will give you any issues in LA area?
That shouldn't be too bad! I think once you go lower then 20%, that's when it gets too dark. We don't have issues here with cops. Not sure how strict LA is
@@BrosFOURRSpeed Alright gotcha. Thank you!
Lucid Soundz No problem!
Me Running with 20% front doors and 5% on the back lmao
You'll be fine with those percentage tints
Great video, was wondering if you think about ceramic window tinting. I have a Tesla Model 3 and thinking about going 30% and clear on the windshield
We love the ceramic tint on our cars! Makes a world of difference for sure. Windshield is a must we think!
Y’all did a good job on this video.
Thank you!! We've had a ton of tint questions so decided to show some of the differences!
In West Virginia the lowest you can go is 35% in the front and anything in the back
oh cool
Thanks for uploading this. Very helpful, very informative. My company vehicle is a hand-me-down from a past employee and I've been wondering if I was going to get pulled over for the tint he had done to the side glass. Judging from your video, my truck has 30%, which is legal here in GA. I understand how the side glass and back glass are tinted, but how are your windshields tinted to 70%? Is it a film or some kind of spray-on tint?
They tint it just like the other glass ;) kzhead.info/sun/g52wgbqrf4atdY0/bejne.html
@@BrosFOURRSpeed How about that! I've never looked into how it's done and now I know. The guys that did the work did a fine job. Quickly, too. That GT-R looks like something straight out of GTA Online. I'm sure the neighborhood enjoys the straight exhaust, lol. I'm about to order a new truck and I'll definitely be getting the same tint work done. I just need to research what the legal tint on the windshield is here in my state.
I just had a new 4 Runner front windows tinted to “match” the rear. They used 20% and it looks close from the outside. But once inside the car I thought the back windows were left down but they weren’t. The 20% tint was just that much darker than the rear window tint from the factory. They may redo the job and put 30% on instead, are worried it may be too light from the outside.
Oh wow. they could always put a 75% film on the back to darken it a bit too if needed
@@BrosFOURRSpeed But then the cost more than doubles. But, it may end up to be the best option. I’ll know more next week.
Yeah that's true. I will say it is worth it. The stock dark gas doesn't actually stop any heat. kzhead.info/sun/eayBct2mmnhvY4E/bejne.html
20% is the perfect set up for me
Thats a good dark level without being too dark at night!
I wonder what they’d look like in direct sunlight. I got 30% on my front two windows without windshield tint and on a sunny day it is incredibly light, very easy to see through. Any thoughts?
Definitely much lighter in direct sunlight. Still really good looking tho
If you darkin your back windows darker it will help.i went 5% all bsck windows and 20% front.
@@mrrod3004 how's the 20 in front look? I have 25 and 15 in back. My tint shop puts 30 when you request a 25 to keep the vlt on or about 25 since glass isn't 100% clear
I don't know what my tint is at, I'm pretty sure it's legal, but I'm not used to it, and I have to roll the windows down when it's dark. 😂
So informative thank you!!
Glad it could help!! What do you think you'll go with on your car?
@@BrosFOURRSpeed I decided to do 70% in the front windshield, 35% in the front seat windows, and 20% in the back seat windows and rear
@@WAJIHATAHIRR Pretty close to what we did! That’s a good setup all around!
Didn't do my windshield, but I did 35% front windows and 5% rear on my Civic Hatchback. Looks really good, but night driving is a little dark out of the rear windshield.
5% is definitely going to be pretty bad at night. But I'd recommend a 70% on the windshield to really keep all the heat out
The tints look great! I'm looking to tint my front glass maybe 35 or closer to 30, but I do want to see about tinting my windshield and what the laws are in TN. How will they behave if I put in a windshield duo camera system? Thank you for your video.👍
Rodney B Xpel even makes a film that is actually clear. So it will block all the heat and UV rays, but won’t darken the glass!
@@BrosFOURRSpeed I have a honda accrod 2020 version with the same color of your GTR, and I don't know whether to choose the 35% or 30%. Is it the 30% is enough for raining day at night? cause the front window film is bigger than the GTR?
Good spot for the Tint, I was thinking 🤔 the same for 35 front and probably 30 for the back or 25 at most, I’m also for not being pricked by cops 👮🏻♀️ when I just want a lil tint to the car. And I got a Civic 16’ 10Gen Touring
Can't go wrong with legal tint to be honest. Depending on your area, some places or more strict then others
Awesome video!!! I love the Tacoma!!
On the GTR, do you have 30% as the driver and passenger windows including the back windshield? And what do you have for the front windshield??
Yea the 30% is all the windows except the windshield which has 70% on it!
Helpful vid for deciding what % of tint you want! Sidenote: the boyz in the vid are cute too 🙊
Glad you enjoyed the video! Can't go wound with any of these. Put absolutely do the windshield. Makes a world of difference

Cody Wooten Nice!!

Glad you like them! We have tons of videos on each car you see on our channel!
One thing that seems to be ignored is that adding any type of tint film makes the glass more reflective, making it more difficult to see the interior. Police certainly know this here in MI where no tinting of any kind is allowed on the front side windows.
Its the law to allow tint, you csn get cancer from uv rays driving laws have changed. Big rigs can now tint uv tint only. Just looked you're state up they do alow tinting.
Wtf... no tint seriously??
Got a newer ram 1500 has privacy glass already on back end which is descent dark threads say comes out to around 26% if tested not real tint and doesn’t block uv but I like the Tacoma look. Did you put 20% over your privacy glass. Was wondering if I put 30% over my privacy if it would hit limo which I don’t want.
I can't remember exactly, but it's in the install video! kzhead.info/sun/eayBct2mmnhvY4E/bejne.html I went with 70% on the windshield and I think 70% overlaid on the privacy and then I had 28% or so for the front sides!
I love those two red Genesis's
Thanks man! Those were some fun cars!
@@BrosFOURRSpeed what'd you do with them Trade up for the GTR
What about front windsheild? I have a small fixed crack in my windshield and I'm not sure if companies will want to tint over it bc normally they wont touch it if there's a crack(from my understanding) Maybe a dumb question but do most people tint there front windshield or just leave it alone? Wouldn't it be hard to see at night with a tinted windshield?
That's a good point to bring up, I'm not sure on if they would do that or not. If you don't get that fixed, it will get larger in the long run, so you'd probably have to replace it at some point. After that you could tint it. But for visibility, and the fact that we did 70%, you can't even tell it's there. 70% gives it a stock look and gives you the added protection! I don't have any issues with it at night time! Only thing is the 25% on the sides, that's as dark as I would go for night driving.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed Awesome to hear! I think I'm just going to not touch my windshield as I don't want to spend 400$ for a new one. I think I'm going 18 or 20 in the rear and 25ish for my front windows! I love the videos!
Curious as to what the tint laws are in your state. Ours is 50% on the sides, 35% on the rear and don’t even think about touching the windshield! 🤣
Chris Denton Ours is 35 on the sides and back. Technically nothing on the windshield. But glass alone is about 80%. So the 70% doesn’t change it much
25%
In Texas, you can do 25% on the front o windshield and front windows. If you have side mirrors the rear windows and rear windshield can be any tint
Newyork the cop said 30% light should come in
They did it backwards in the video that’s 70%
Thanks, very helpful
Glad it was helpful!
Great, unfortunately I put the 20 in front and I have difficulty at night, I think that in order not to see the person through at night and have good visibility the best could be the 30%, in Genesis I remember that the difference between the two was not so marked, here it seems more, and my impression?
Yeah I like 30% on my cars with 70% on the windshield. Seems to be the perfect setup
I'll never win the GoPro but keep up the great work guys!
You never know! But thanks!
Yeah MA regulates tint. Not very dark up here in these parts.
I had 5 percent on a red car and got pulled over pretty much everywhere I went every state every small town I got pulled over and they always told me either it was illegal or it needed to be removed and released with a warning . Don't bother getting illegal dark tent if you live in a metro urban area in usa
That definitely doesn't sound worth it at all! I like to go dark enough it matches well, but still stay in those higher percentages to not have to worry about daily driving!
30 is the sweet spot all around
I think so! Dark enough to look super good. But not dark enough to be bad at night or have issues
What would you recommend for a 1999 honda civic sedan, I live in Washington state where 24% is the legal limit for window tinting, thank you in advance (:
I'd stick with legal. 24% is dark enough. I really like the 30 on the GTR
I live in washington as well but I was worried about if I go with 25% on my truck I would get a ticket for it. What can I get for front and back windows to be sure I wont get pulled over but still look nice. I drive a 1987 single cab chevy
@@bobbyb9979 midnightwindowtinting.com/auto-tinting/washington-state-tint-law/ hope that helps (:
I have a Kia Soul and live in FL what tint should I get for the front and which one for the back windows?
Maybe a 20% should do the trick!
In cold /icy weather is there any issue with the defroster with the windshield? You stated in the video that that the tint blocked sun heat transfer to the interior.
Zero issues with that! That’s not effected at all!
I have 35 on my front windows and it’s not too bad at night unless I’m in a low light area at night and if you put darker than 35 just watch out for pedestrians who don’t have headlights
25-35 is a good range depending on what you want and the color of the vehicle and interior! I’m fine with 25, but any darker and it gets annoying!
people who use side mirrors to back up....you will definitely have issues with inclement weather in dark environments backing up, also backing up trailers and such night or rainy weather. dont get me wrong I run 20 percent on all my vehicles with a 5percent brow on front glass about 9in or so.....but some will have to get used to night driving and backing for sure especially in bad weather conditions
Yeah I've noticed 15% and darker is when you'll have issues at night. We can see out perfectly with the tint levels our cars are at
I just recently got my windows tinted and 30 is what I chose, but it's surprisingly not that dark I thought it would be much darker... I'd totally be fine with 20% but I just don't wanna get pulled over. Maybe it was standard film?
Also depends on how big your windows are and interior color. We've never had issues with any of our cars so it also depends on what state you live in
@@BrosFOURRSpeed thanks.. Im considering to go 20 then in the future lol. I just regret going 30% because the dude kept saying, legally this is the lowest. Which I already knew but the way he kept repeating it, made me feel like he was forcing me not to go 20%
So what happen I bought 35 and I live in Kansas
I couldn't imagine buying a Tacoma, but that one looks awesome.
30% is meh in person. You can see the inside much more than shown in this video, this video does show the difference between the variants but not in person accuracy. 70% is nearly unnoticeable in darkness on a car with decent headlights. For me 20% is what I would go for, along with 70% windshield tint. Keeps enough privacy during the day and enough sight at night. Of course, a lot of people struggle with sight at night, this is only my preference as my eyes change colors depending on night/day to best suite both. I drove around with 5% rear, 10% front and unknown windshield before and it was horrible at night but nice during the day (didn't install it, purchased a cheap car that had it installed already)
Was gonna get 35 super tempting to get 30 or 25
All are good for sure! I think 30% would be best for a car and 25% on trucks and SUV's
@@BrosFOURRSpeed yea same I want to get 30 but I'm also not trying to get a ticket
So you did this in the shade, how about doing another one in direct sunshine . . .
Gary DP We specifically did this in the shade because the different colors of the car throw off how the tint looks in the sunlight on camera. The contrast with the Supra will make it look like it has blacked out windows. The dark GTR would make the windows look clear. 😉
I want tint but it’s kind of dangerous where I’m from if you get it. I’m from Philadelphia so you don’t want to get mistaken for someone else and wind up in a dangerous situation.
Hmm, light tint doesn't really affect being able to see out or in, but can help with the heat for sure! It doesn't have to be dark.
Next time do a horizontal view from the rear window not straight down? Really wanted to see what it looks like when someone is behind you
I'll do that! Getting my new Supra tinted soon!
Nice job
Thanks!
I have 5% everywhere would 70% be a good choice for the front windshield? Or would it be too dark at night ?
70% wouldn't be too dark on the windshield, but if you already have 5%, you're used to it being dark lol!
I apparently have 37% on my passenger door of my frs but it’s still kinda fish bowlish so maybe not having tint on the driver side (prev owner removed it crudely) makes that happen. I’m getting probably 30 or 32 on the doors today
Yeah I'd go closer to 30. Would look a lot darker!
Can’t decide if i want 35% or 30%. I have a black audi sedan so im leaning towards 30%
It probably won't make too much of a difference. Both are very close
Look at that GTR 😍😍
Oh yeah it's clean! Love the setup on it
I DONT SEE THE LINKS FOR TINT INSTALLATION ON ANY OF THE CARS... thanks for giving us your word
Scroll down in the description and look...
I live in SC and work in NC. SC doesn't have inspections so I am thinking about going 25% all around. 27% is the legal standard in SC while 32% in NC. For the front window, what do you think of maybe going 50%? Would it be too noticeable?
That would be more noticeable on the front windshield for sure! I can tell in different lighting the 70% on our vehicles, (obviously I know, but I can certainly tell) but the darker interiors also don't help with that. I had 25% when I lived in SC and it was fine, a little dark at night but decent. I'd probably stick closer to 70 for the windshield just to be safe since technically the windshield is illegal even without the inspections.
I think i'll do 70% front and rear and 35% on both sides... I don't like it too dark and i'm Just hoping people won't recognize my face lol. Also how much does it cost for window tint?
That's a good percentage all around! Just depends on the installer you go to! Get some quotes to see what you are comfortable with! In general, for the right window film, you're looking around $800-$1200, somewhere around there.
So how would I say what I want if I wanted the first tint or the middle one like how would I say it to the it doing it
Just tell your shop what percentage you want. 30% is a good level for a dark look
I’m in New York City, I’m thinking 30 all around. I just don’t want to get tickets from cops. What ya think? Is it dark enough but so dark?
30% is a good percentage to go with. Depending on the lighting you can still see in some, but in darker lighting or at night, it's very hard to see in. I've been ok with this % and haven't had any issues with it.
I have a Chevy 94 and have no idea what percent I should get cause I don’t want to get pulled over. Got any recommendations?
Check your local regulations on the percentage you can go with. If you'd like to stay legal, for us it's 35% or lighter, that's a great way to go. We haven't had any issues with 25% and a lot of people go dark, but if you want to stay legal, it'll still give it a great look!
Not about tint but what kind of rims do you have setup for your taco?
Tint is great for blocking the sun rays and protecting your skin from the sun! It's not just about the looks! They are the RTX Baja! kzhead.info/sun/dMmads-oeZmVnq8/bejne.html
What about seeing behind the car at night with backup lights?
No issues with any of the cars. I think once you get to 15%, thats when it starts looking a bit dark at night
I have 5% tint on my vehicles with 50% on my full windshield. I have zero issues seeing other drivers and their back up lights from any of my windows. Only problems you will run into is if you are driving in a low light area and there's people waking around you. Will be hard to see pedestrians. Other than that, no issues really
@@TesterOfProducts thanks. I was talking about being able to see in the dark, backing up, with my back up lights on.. not other car's back up lights.
@@gizzyguzzi I have 5% in my rear windows and can't see anything its really hard to back up cuz it's really dark and I have no back up camera
Good video.. however I think it would have provided a better analogy in the beginning side shots, if you didn't have the darkness of the woods behind the cars. #JustSayin
We did that so we weren't in the direct sunlight, it showed off the tint color better.
I got 35 % in my front and 5 % in the back , I feel like nobody need to see in my car but I did 35%to be considerate of my vision at night and the trouble of 12 😭🚔
35% is a good percentage to see out at night, even my 25 is pushing it some, but yea 5 would be horrible especially if it was raining!
Most definitely I was riding my brother car with 5% at night and ended up getting caught by the speed camera 🤣
I wish I had someone locally that I could trust to do a quality tint job like those. Are those percentages within legal limits or are you at risk of possibly having to remove if questioned? Love the comparison! Thanks guys! @8gojunior
you can easily get a pass from a doctor to have dark tint.
Depends on the state. SC has a 27% minimum. Anything under(darker) is not legal.
I can't find information about visibility driving in the country. Would 35% allow you to see wildlife such as deer alongside the road?
Honestly we have no issues with any of our cars. Once you get under 20%, thats when it starts being too dark at night.
So I’m new to tinting. I just bought a Honda Civic with some tint but wanted to go darker. I looked up what the window tint laws are in South Carolina. It said “Front side windows must allow more than 27% light in, back side windows any %, rear window any %.” So what does this mean for my front side windows when it says “More than 27% light?” Does that mean I can do 27% like in the video on the truck?
You should be good with a 30% tint like the GTR. Also depends on the inspection shop you go to. A lot of places probably dont care. And some areas cops dont even care
Thinking about going 35% on my white 2014 A4, I’m in MA. Tired of driving in this fishbowl
Haha yeah! 35% will be a good look on it!
What’s a good amount for front windshield if I’m getting 5% all around
I'd probably stick with 50-70%, if it's too dark like the 5% it'll feel like you are wearing sunglasses at night time. 5% to me isn't worth it if you drive at night a lot, but just my opinion on that. the 50-70 should be fine.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed I want to do 20 % all around except the front windshield of course. I think that percentage looks great but do you think I’ll be able to see at night?
If I got 35% on a black Jetta with all black interior would it be good? Or should I go with 30? PS: our legal limit is 32%. I really love the 30 but also don’t wanna get a ticket.
Knock on wood we've never had any issues for going slightly under the legal limit, however if you have a yearly inspection, you'd have to get around that. But on a black car with black interior, 35% should look good. It's pretty dark on the supra with it being white. But 30 VS 32 you wouldn't be able to tell unless an officer really wanted to test it.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed thanks bro
GooooooooooD Job
Thanks! Window film makes sure a big difference!
So lost, I had 30/20 put on and you can see straight through it, i had it metered and the tint is the correct percentage, it’s ceramic suntek or solargard one of em, but it’s super confusing
What are you confused about? We're just showing the darkness level of our cars. The lower the percentage, the darker it looks
@@BrosFOURRSpeed seems like he’s confused about his own experience
Do you have white interior? If so, that’s why. With brighter interior you need a way darker tint.
@@RageQuitReUnited no I have a metallic gray exterior (looks similar to white), and a full black interior
@@RageQuitReUnited I went back and had 20/20 put on, and it still looks light, had 2 shops meter it, it is ceramic, not sure if that has anything to do with it
0:51 It’s not a problem, it’s a ME problem!
I don't get it!
I want that 30!!!!!
30% tint has been great for the GTR! Looks dark enough and never have issues at night!
I got a black WRX with black interior. Do you think 25% will be too dark or should I go to 30%
You really won’t notice a difference since it’s so close!
