Thank you for showing that astonishing replica. I was six when Apollo 13 launched, and, like millions of other people, willed those three brave astronauts home safely. I should point out, that I'm English, but it was very important to us. One of my earliest memories is to do with Project Apollo: seeing my mother weeping because of the news of the Apollo 1 fire. I was, as you can imagine, at age four, more perturbed by my mother crying, than the deaths of three men far away, but because of that, the names Ed White, Gus Grissom, and Roger Chaffee will always be in my memory. I never watched the movie 'Apollo 13' until recently, as I had no need to. I had watched it for real, and it was all I thought about, to the detriment of everything else, until I knew that Jim Lovell, Jack Swigert, and Fred Haise were safe. A friend went to The Cape, and asked if I'd like him to bring me back a souvenir. There was one thing, and one thing only: an Apollo 13 Mission patch. I still have it.
As a former Hobby Shop owner (Inside & Out Hobbies, LLC est 2005 - ended 2014), I loved it when customers would bring in a finished model of something from the space program. I would put them on display and hold a semi annual model show so they could win prized.....Now all I do is sit back and sell what I have left on E bay.....
I want more cool affordable space toys like this. I really do love what they did with this model. !
バンダイはこんな物を作っていたのか! 全てがアポロ13号への愛に溢れている。
*I need this in my life right now.*
The details is just gorgeous! Thanks for sharing, i could watch it again and again looking how good the model is
I just finished watching Apollo 13 as well
Thank for the various knowledge of Saturn v & Apollo 11
i get inspired when i look at the great saturn 5 rocket HATS OFF TO THE SCIENTISTS AND ENGINEERS!

Excellent presentation, thanks :)
Thanks for watching Anthony!

No way I was expecting a kit build when you opened the box...stunning model...
OMG I think I might just have to get one. I'm 61 now and I remember seeing the first launch of the Saturn V rocket. It's been an awesome life I've had, being able to witness the space race, from it's beginning to today.
Are you really 61? No offence but the way you worded and wrote that makes you seem younger.
Thank you for sharing! What a great looking model.
Hmmm. They didn't give you optional batted F-1 engines. The F-1 engines (first stage) were covered with insulating blankets called "batting." That model features a sweet thrust structure on the S-II. By the way, the conical interstage that connected to the S-IV B fell away with the S-II. Those four white blisters on the interstage were retro rockets that slightly slowed the S-II while ullage motors on the S-IV B pulled the vehicle away as well as seated the LH-2 and LOX fuel components properly. Similarly, the interstage connecting the S-1C and the S-II had four long ullage motors that performed the same function at staging. The first two unmanned Apollo-Saturn V test flights, Apollo 4 and Apollo 6, had 8 ullage motors; these were reduced to four by Apollo 8. The S-1C had 8 retro rockets inside the engine fairings on either side of the fins. Interestingly, the ullage motors on the interstage were eliminated completely on Apollo 15 and the S-1C retros were reduced to 4 to save weight. Upon staging, the S-II's engines burned the S-1C's LOX tank; they were only 40 feet apart. The other 4 retros were restored to the S-1C on Apollos 16 and 17.
Sorry I dont speak technical
yea whatever nerd lol
I'm guessing they didn't include the batted F-1's, because the most commonly known version among the public is the non insulated nozzle/bell.
Japanesee figures have absolutely spoiled me. I have owned a few figuarts from Star Wars and they are brilliant. Seems like most of Bandai offerings are just amazing. As a collector its hard not to appreciate the craftsmanship that goes into all this. And its so well thought-out. LIke every single detail is carefully analyzed to make it work as good as possible. Anyways, thats another brilliant video. I really like how you take time to inspect every single piece and make sure its represented properly in the video. Makes me really want to buy this set. Also, excellent choice of background music.
beautiful toys.
I like this model set 👍Iooks pretty cool ☺
Thanks for that excellent review. Just ordered one.
Fantastic miniature. Went straight to my wishlist.
Redshift where did you find it
I had all the otona no chogokin and they are all amazing
Also expensive too
AWESOME
Dude Roket looks FANTASTIC!!! i think there a piece of it here in nyc flushing meadow park. its huge the very bottom part. and some other parts too
Another amazing Danoby video. I decided to order one from BBTS for $323. I've always love Space (sci-fi, fantasy, and non-fiction writings) but this is my first foray into getting something that is based on an actual NASA rocket. Keep up the great work and please show more stuff that's not HT related (which I love too).
Just got this in the mail today. I’m surprised at how heavy and solid the pieces are. This thing is built very well. And the LM is insanely detailed for its size, it’s so damn cool. Very happy to have this now on my desk. It’s a beautiful kit, and to me, well worth the price.
HOW DID YOU GET IT??????? ITS DISCONTINUED AND SOLD OUT EVERYWHERE. IT COST 1000 USD💀💀💀💀
@@jasonskinner9064 I paid a lot of money for it (slightly under $1,500 brand new). If you want it, you’ll definitely be paying over MSRP, though I saw some used ones for slightly under $1k. For me, as a massive Apollo and space fan, it was absolutely worth the markup. I’m very satisfied with it, and proud to have it on display.

I didn't know Tamashii did models like this. That command module is so pretty!
If they'd do a version like this of the Ariane 5 with the James Web Space Telescope or the Atlas V with perseverance with all the stages of the missions in detail 😍
Those two dudes are the rescue divers.
Great episode Danoby! I'd love to see more stuff from your collection!
Grew up in Houston, all ways loved going to the Johnson Space Center, I would spend hours at the Saturn V they have their that never flew. I can't wait for the SLS and StarShip rockets to take off and take us back to the Moon and beyond!!!
Очень красивый набор, с хорошей детализацией и аккуратной сборкой и покраской. Мне даже страшно представить сколько такая красота стоит!
Согласен
this is SO BEAUTIFUL!!!
Thats beautiful all hail the legendary saturn V
Danoby2. The 2 men in the raft are the Navy divers who would assist the recovery of the astronauts who are still safely inside the command module.
Thanks!
Danoby2 Also you referred to the Coast Guard Helicopter even though it says NAVY right on the side. SH-3 Sea King is the name of the helicopter BTW. Your other mistake is in continually referring the the S-IVB THIRD STAGE... as the Stage 4B. S-IVB is the name of the THIRD STAGE, it is not the stage four. There is no fourth stage. The name is a holdover from when it was originally designed to be the 4th stage of a different Saturn rocket, the Saturn C-4.
@@Cg23sailor I thought it was for the Nova.
I think the figures are part of the recovery crew. They are the ones who attach the flotation ring to the capsule and aid the astronauts into the dinghy.
Thank you sir for your video, I love it so much
So cooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool!!!!!!!
I was lucky enough to have dinner at KSC with Charlie Duke, Ed Mitchell and Fred Haise a number of years ago, will never forget meeting those guys!

Your video have convince me to buy this wonderful piece ! Thank you. ( i also have gene cernan before.. )
Stunning!!
OUTSTANDING! The details on this are simply incredible! I really hope Bandai decides to re-issue this series complete with the Space Shuttle. Thanks for sharing!
That's a beautiful replica. That type of presentation box is sadly missing on so many recent HT efforts, it makes a huge difference when unboxing and making these things into an "event".
Amazing !....Japan produces some really astounding models.
Cooooooooooll! Space things!
I'm blown away by the detail
I just bought one! I live in Hong Kong and that's why I am glad that Hong Kong is very near to Japan. Japanese always produce the products with good quality :)
Very nice! It's one of my favorite models.
Awesome job with this video review!!! We needed a review like this. I have the Apollo 11version and I've been thinking about getting this Apollo 13 as well. This review sold me. I will buy this model after all. Thank you for a well needed and great review. Merry Christmas and happy and healthy holidays to you my friend.
That is gorgeous! I built several plastic models and a gigantic LEGO model. For me, the fun is in building it by gluing or snapping hundreds of pieces, but I’d consider this pre assembled kit because of the detail and comes already colored.
I absolutely have to have one of these. When I was a kid, and still now, I was absolutely blown away by space flight and by the Apollo Program in general. However, one thing I never was able to get back then was a really good, properly done model of the Saturn V. I must get this.

Go to NASA and actually look at the Saturn V which would’ve been Apollo 18. It is amazing.
Welp, I got one, the Apollo 13 set just like this (actually got it in 2017). If you are seriously in the market, get it. Please.
Me too
Great video! I've always wanted a model of the Saturn V, I'm going to get the new Lego model of it that is coming out next month.
me have this rocket waiting for these guys to make the space shuttle
Wonderful video and Rocket! Great job!!!
Wouldn't it be great if they made a N-1 model also with this same level of detail
true but i guess its impossible
@@fask69 Not really. A lot of de-classified documents and materials still exist from the N-1. The LK (luna) lander, the LOK Soyuz and the Luna injection assembly are well recorded.

Wow, what a wonderfull presentation! I have the Apollo 11 Saturn V und the Space Shuttle Endeavour, which is also an incredible modell. From where is the music taken you used in this video?

So do I....Then I looked - Then I saw the high prices - Then I thought fuck it.

The point of view that we get to see is amazing, working for Orlando studios sounds like it would have been fun. The details they put into this is on another level. Now that is a Display piece! Nice video man!
I worked for them back in the 90,s,.. It was a blast when I was with them. Thanks for watching Caleb, I got the shotgun coming in a few days and should have the video up soon .

They will
Ya I bet that cost a pretty penny That’s Bandai for you they are the Ferrari of model kits
they are priced like Ferrari too.....
Amazing!!!😱😱😮😮
beautiful!!
I've got the Shuttle & Apollo 11 version, they are awesome. I did add a very small magnet inside the command module & one at the top of the service module and it holds the command module in place perfectly
I am jealous that you have the Tamashii Space Shuttle. I want it so very bad, but missed out when it was released and it goes for allot of cash now. thanks for watching! The magnet trick is cool too!
When I look it up it goes by the name "Otona no Chogokin Space Shuttle Endeavour". It was $1250, does that seem like a fair price?
Christopher Brown So sad..😕
I may have to sell it. I'm actually modelling it in a 3D software right now
Christopher Brown Id make you an offer, but I don't have 1200 bucks laying around. 😝😝
I actually got a little nervous when you pointed the F-1 engine nozzles at the camera.
AWESOME FUN!!!! 🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀
Classic model!!
Coast Guard helicopter? It says NAVY on the boom.
Wow, that's an outstanding model. Really detailed. $1,312USD + shipment (consulted on Amazon July, 2019)
Its worth every penny
@@Jay-jb2vr LMFAO!!!!
I have the exact model! Very well made. Glad I purchased it!!
I love it
call me a nitpicker, but.... a few corrections... S-IV-B is not "stage 4". The Saturn V launch vehicle consisted of 3 stages: S-I-C, S-II, S-IV-B ...wherein "S" stands for "Saturn". The "exhaust thrusters" you referred to are F-1 engines, the most powerful single-chamber rocket engines ever flown. The helicopter is a Navy helicopter, not a Coast Guard helicopter. The two dark figures are, I'm pretty sure, supposed to be Navy rescue divers, as the CM hatch was not yet opened. ...and, yes, all 3 Apollo 13 crew members survived to spalshdown, and, as far as I know, two are still alive today.
Also, it appears they messed up the helicopter markings. The one they did was from Apollo 11, the helicopter used for recovery of Apollo 13 came from the USS Iwo Jima.
newsundies also he said that the rocket was launched from cape Canaveral even though it was in fact launched from a pad on the Kennedy space center.
I was going to say the same about the dark figurines. The pressure suits were white ish and in the pictures I have seen they do not take them off. The temperature regulating under suit was light blue I think but def not black. Those black figurines are wet suits divers
Sorry, only Jack Swigert died ... shortly after being elected Colorado senator ... he resigned from NASA and started a political career.
This is fine, but where is “Sputnik-1”?
This is freakin COOL!!!!
very nice!! thank you
Well, I guess the LEM never made it the moon so it makes sense to have it not deployed...
Felita Li The LEM was deployed and used get the astronauts back to Earth, in a sense used as a lifeboat and was the most important thing during the mission.
Ab9ut what are you talking?
I have that model
Omg same I got it for my birthday this year it is now proudly displayed in my room
I have it too! My pride and joy of my model collection 😁
Thanx!!! Good job!
LOVE! I NEED THIS!
"A Successful Failure."
Why did it fail?
@@MRCIVN in few words, command and service module (CSM) had a small explosion in a tank . Astronauts almost died from lack of co2 and stranded on the way to the moon. I recommend you see the movie Apollo 13 by Tom Hanks, there they explain in a simple and not very technical way what happened.
Shut up and take my money!
