My mother was just like that. Materialistic, self absorbed, unappreciative of what she did have, petty and nasty. She died alone and miserable. No friends or family attended her funeral. That’s the legacy of people like this

Competing with other people only hurts yourself and others around you. There's also another saying that not everyone that has great success has great character.

- IKR. I would sometimes get jealous of one of my cousins because she had the best clothes and she acted like she was prettier and better than me. I felt like I wasn't beautiful and I thought I become someone else so I can people like me. Then I realized I am beautiful and I am thankful for what I have. We used to compete against each other to see who has the best stuff and who was better. Now we don't do that anymore.

This reminds me of Romeo and Juliet. The neighbors the parents from the story of William Shakespeare both don’t like each other. The reasons are how they start their birthdays in the same day, the winter formal, and toxic relationship Josh and Hazel liking one another is really wonderful. Birthdays aren’t about the gifts they’re about celebrating the anniversary of the day you were born with love and family.❤❤❤

Now that’s really sad !! Two grown women acting like children, competing with each other while spending money they didn’t have!! The poor husbands were about ready for a breakdown & probably close to bankruptcy because of their wive’s actions!! Their children acted more mature than their Mothers! So glad they each confessed to each other, & that charade is over with! 😮🤦‍♀️ This was actually hilarious! 😂

I have a similar rivalry. I really want to be the top student of my class, but there is one student who I have been trying to beat for so long, but she is really hardworking, a super fast writer, doesn’t get distracted very easily, and gets extremely good grades.
