This is the first time the Bundesliga has actually been competitive and has more than one team bar Bayern carrying them. The Prem has just had a bad season this season. Secondly maybe the hype was because 2 of 3 European competitions have been won by English teams last season and 3 and 4 English ucl finalists in the last 5 years including 3 English winners
