  • Please don't eat horseshoe crab. Any of them. I believe that one is a mangrove horseshoe, which does not have a conservation status but is believed to be near extinction despite high density local concentrations. All horseshoe crabs should be left to be. I don't normally get persnickety about what people choose to eat, and I feel like a snob saying it, but please. They need all the help they can get.

  • Nice to see them go with the head split option since a lot of people get up in arms about them being tossed in alive or animals still alive like the shrimp. Quick relatively painless way of dispatching them, and for anyone freaked out, any movement after is simply residual nerve responses.

  • 0:52 A correct way to put down a lobster quickly without it suffering, not only that, it makes the meat quite tastier. I don’t know how to explain it, but I saw someone explained it on a KZhead video about how boiling the lobster without putting it down first will make the lobster very stressed and will make the meat less tasty. Here in Indonesia, foods that are hundreds of USD are considered super expensive, which most people aren't willing to spend, even if they could afford it. You can get most of local foods for less than 10 USD, some even less than 5 USD to fill up your entire stomach.

The central brain in the head gives general orders, like look for food, move in this direction, but each leg is acting independent from each other That's why they were still sucking at your throat when you were eating them. Countries like China, Japan and Taiwan are the reason why our oceans are becoming depleted in fish and invertebrates because they are overfishing and much of it is illegal fishing.

  • I am ok with all the seafood EXCEPT the horseshoe crab. Horseshoe crabs are an amazing creature that are essential in making many different medical equipment and vaccines this usefulness has pit their ecosystems and numbers in danger more than once in the past. So to see them die for food when, honestly, i don’t feel they have enough edible parts to warrant it makes me sad.
