I am wondering about one. The advisory military expert was former British SAS member Chris Ryan. I wonder if he ever played this game and tried to get the David Jones ranks in all missions. Maybe if he tried before releasing the game for sale, maybe he recommended that the developers simplify some missions :)
As for me, this is the most difficult mission in the whole game to achieve the rank of David Jones. The mission must be completed in less than 10 minutes which is extremely difficult to achieve, of course if you do not skip all tasks to be performed. The problem is that there is a lot of shooting here and it requires very good accuracy and it is difficult because in IGI the opponents are very small and it's hard to hit them especially when they move fast. The problem is to hit the sniper on the roof because his head is barely visible. The armed guards in the building are also a problem, it rarely happens that they are not alarmed and then the matter becomes very complicated because you have to shoot them all. The last sequence is also very problematic. I noticed that after the cutscene, David Jones can be directed in a completely different direction than the two Chinese soldiers, so quickly eliminating them is problematic because you waste time to correct your position. That's why it's so easy to get hit and take serious injuries before jumping into the water that prevent you from getting the rank of David Jones. This is one of those missions where a medical syringe should be available and unfortunately it is not available, therefore this mission is very unfair.
No bro this mission is a piece of cake for me and this one is my all time favourite mission because of the overall environment being so realistic! Ok wait for a while or you can stay tuned with my channel, I will soon gonna make a complete series of igi2 with David Jones Rank but unfortunately for now my laptop is dead. I'm thinking to buy a new gaming laptop

Fucking hard mission I hate it so much. Almost impossible to obtain David Jones Rank I tried already like 100 times
It is possible, but it takes a long time to find the right tactic. The problem is very little time, a lot of shooting and unfortunately the accuracy must be at a very high level. Even if you do everything perfectly, in the last sequence after the cutscene, Jones may get seriously injured before jumping into the water, and all the work is wasted and you have to start all over again. Yes very unfiar mission. The creators of the game should give gamers in this mission a healing syringe.
@@hinsten Man trust me I tried everything possible and still couldn't win the mission with David Jones rank. First objective is very easy you just have to kill the soldier nearby, then sneak by the containers, wait for the security camera to turn away then enter the warehouse. Kill the guard with knife by sneaking behind him, then eliminate the solider in the computer room with knife or single shot the head. The next part isn't hard, killing the 3 patrolling soldiers with silenced Pistol but only when they are away from the other 2 stationary guards at the gate so they don't see them get killed and turn the alarm on. Then you sneak until you reach the gate, quickly kill the 2 guards with silenced pistol then move fast to kill the 3rd guard inside the security booth but without him spotting you. Then you sneak behind the security compound where the guards are. I killed the sniper with silenced pistol but you have to aim carefully, because lesser accuracy prevents you from obtaining David Jones rank. Then you open the gate move inside and kill the 3 patrolling officers quickly because there is an alarm at the entrance of the security compound where the sniper was standing on its roof. move slowly and climb up the ladders and crush the glass to gain entry. Kill the 2 guards with SD, then turn on the Generator. Now the last part is the frustrating part. you have about 7 Chinese Soldiers you need to get rid of but if you do that before accessing the computer you will have your cover blown cuz SD pistol won't be enough you will have to use the main weapon. Even when you kill them, you have to quickly kill the 2 soldiers with knife after they capture you and then go jump into the sea. A small move I learned I will give as a tip, before you do the final computer, throw all your weapons behind the containers that are in front of the crushed wall you entered from. This way you can pick them up again after getting out of the water and use them to kill Robert Quest and his Chinese bodyguards. If you were lucky to pick up a grenade from a dead soldier you can kill them all with a single well-timed grenade. But still the problem is you cannot simply do all of that above in under than 10 minutes
I hope I can help. (This is my experience with this mission and for me the best tactics but honestly a mix from several tactics) A few years ago I recorded walkthrough for this game and I got David Jones rank in all missions so check it out, maybe it will help you. (I play again and I'm going to upload it to KZhead but this time in 4K and 60 fps). This time i have GOG version with patch 1.3 and now the opponents who patrol the path between the containers behave differently, which surprised me so I had too change my tactics a bit. Earlier I was playing version 1.2 and maybe that's why there are changes. But I know this the most difficult mission. It took a few days before I got to the highest rank but I played about 6-8 hours a day. The most difficult sequence is area with building which you have to turn on this generator. Mostly, when you start shooting to the regular guards patrolling the area, the well-armed soldiers who are in the building will be alerted. Then you have to eliminate them all very quickly. The most important thing is that the regular guards should be eliminated in the first because only they can activate the alarm (always eliminate the first one that is closest to the alarm switch). If they did it, the next soldiers would come from the earlier building next to the guard booth. This will mean that you have to start level again. Sniper is hard to hit, but you can eliminate him while you on the roof. (In the video, jump to 5:02 when Fang runs towards these containers and starts shooting at the guards. From here, there is a less chance that well-armed soldiers will leave the building, if you quickly eliminate three guards. If you succeed, run straight and then the sniper and the two guards at the glass should not notice you. Turn Caps Lock on between the buildings to make Jones switch to walking mode, then well-armed guards should not be alerted either). You don't have to worry about the three regular guards in the building with the generator, they will never leave the building, you just have to be careful that they can not to see you. The second, very hard sequence is after the cutscene and you have to be very lucky here. Even if you succeed, the others will start firing before Jones jumps into the water and he can be seriously injured and you can't have less than than 90 or 85% health. Unfortunately, you need a little bit of luck than skills. Each weapon should be thrown out before the crane so that you can use it again later. It is good to have at least one grenade, preferably two. They are often abandoned by snipers, but this is not always the case. Grenades have well-armed soldiers, but it's better if they stay inside the buildings. It's worth taking a sniper rifle. Even if you don't have grenades, you can easily eliminate Quest and the rest of the Chinese soldiers with his help. This mission requires a lot of practice but also unfortunately a lot of luck to reach the David Jones rank. Belive it's possible, I went through it, and I know how frustrating it is to try dozens of times and the game doesn't get you that highest rank.
