River is a good name for him & I’m sure Takis & his team will bring him out of his depressed state & let him see that life in the shelter is good & he is safe & loved. I can’t remember the name of the tan/white dog he sat next to in the earlier video at the side of the fire but that could give him some reassurance & comfort. ❤❤❤

River is trying to be invisible a part of the wall, he hides his face, turns to the wall; fear has a strong hold on him. But he hears your soft voice and sees everything and feels your gentle touch. Time lots Yes Takis you have been here many times before and they all adjust some never want humans some love them. We will see how River does over the next few weeks.
Beautiful River in 3 or 4 days he will be ok, if he’s 2 months in the River somebody must be feeding him cause he’s not skinny, that person should have contacted you already before. This is showing just how psychological dogs truly are as the domesticated wolves they truly are. They all need bonding and when those bonds break, they truly don't know what to do. Time heals as long as they have a pack! The pack is where all the power is when it comes to dogs.

You can see fear in his eyes but he is accepting your pets of affection without any aggression, this seems to be a sign he is longing for this new love and security. River is so lucky to be in the shelter and have such a loving caretaker.

Completely exhausted. River will probably sleep for days. Good name for him; Crusoe and Jonah also came to mind for me, but River has a gentle, melodic sound that he can respond to. Poor little guy....a new joy will soon flow through him, thanks to Takis.
