MVP & Pogacar are my two favorite people to watch ride. Win or lose, they’re going to give it their all & make it exciting.
What a beast of rider. Incredible performance
He is simply on another level and makes it look easy..he is already in the legend
MVDP and Pog are two of the best/most exciting riders of our generation. What a ride
The power on that attack, wow!
It's not often we see such superior athletes, he reminds me of Michael Phelps, with his way of dominating all competition. WHAT A CHAMP
MvdP giving a masterclass once again. Chapeau!
"Monumental Mathieu van der Poel"
VDPoel went full MERKX MODE for paris-roubaix!
Imo the team ADC put together is to be applauded. I know MVDP is in a league of his own but his team made this victory even easier. Heats off to ADC domestiques.
Mathieu van der Poel is a beast!
That is why he called MVP, what a great performance of a rider who attack every one and won the the race.
One day races are so damn fun to watch and MVDP is next level talent!
Gianni Vermeersch did his job to perfection
Alpecin-Deceuninck first, second and sixth. This was a day of superb teamwork.
First time I'm hearing about these sponsors... I had never heard of the companies, and had to search to know what they are about! Great for them, they might have much lower budget than some other team - although I have no idea, really.
@@DR_1_1I’ve read that their budget last year was estimated between 15-25 million. Not as big as some other teams but also not a small budget
@@DR_1_1 Alpecin sell shampoo, Deceuninck sells windows and floors
A win like that makes me think he has other Paris-Roubaix wins in the tank...2 more puts him among legends, 3 more will surely consolidate him as THE legend.
@@reighmund284 The problem with monuments is this chap named Eddy, who has 19...I guess it comes down to your definition of "legend". At least at 5 P-R's there is no-one better...does that even qualify as legend? I guess it doesn't matter...MVdP is damn fast...we can agree on that? ;)
Complete control, true champion of 2024. Well done
Van der Poel is just insane on a bike lol
Monumental Performance
Not even Van Aert nor Pogacar could have beat MVDP today he was just on another dimension, it was one of his magical days
How the hell does he do that ?! LEGEND
that slow launch from MvdP at 59km is just insane. it is not a sudden increase of speed, like a demarrage, but just slowly increasing speed and keeping it. no one can follow, even not after the cobbels on the tarmac with a full group. its just from a complete different level of cycling. slowly from 3 to 5 to 7, to 10 to 15 seconds and then it was done.
Great performance by MVP again. Gotta love the spring classics.
Congratulations king of cycling ! 🎉🎉 . 7424
They say if you can’t be good, be lucky. Happily for Mathieu he’s been both!
Yeah..He broke their words..
Monumental!..again!
Winning Tour of Flanders and Paris-Roubaix in the rainbow jersey within one week is something else. What a masterpiece.
V D Poel The best on earth
Paris-Roubaix remains the King of all one-day classics!
Oui, on l'appelle la Reine. Et encore cette année fut nulle pour cause de beau temps. Quand il pleut avec la boue, les pavés glissants.... c'est magnifique.
60kmph on Paris Roubaix cobbles?
That was wild 🤯 jawdropping power!
Wind in the back + Top athlete its wack af
Strade Bianche 2021.
They make better tyres, now ;-) More seriously, MVDP is not riding very wide, looks like 28, maybe 30mm at most?
@@DR_1_1 32mm
VDP FANTASTIC!!!
If you look only at the last few kilometers and see his impeccable world champion uniform and bicycle, it seems like he is going to visit his girlfriend. But he comes from Mordor and Arrakis👻 Greatness is in making the difficult look easy. Morally, Stefan Küng deserves a podium, in another team he would have already achieved it. The last World Champion to win it was Peter Sagan.
Amazing performance by mvdp, and they should sue whoever threw that cap into his wheels
Absolut great!
Vanderpol es tremenda maquina corriendo por esos adoquines sin rival que señor corredor un 👏
MvdP is a monster 🤯
MVDP and Tadej are the two best cyclists in the world. Both are really classy.
what a beast
MVP is a machine
God of Cycling !!!!
Superb, 60k out on a classic?😮
MVDP just playing with his food. 😎😎😎👍✌️
This was expected, MDVP can continue winning whatever he wants this season and Pogacar as well.
And when they raced together neither won 😂
@@carolinacardenas8490van der Poel’s team.
@@Bryan__X__ but I’m talking specifically MVP vs Pogacar (no team mates involved)
The one is scary duo in classics and the monument race
El Mejor 🚴🇪🇦🤘🏻
Plugge: “cycling is too dangerous for the riders” This race continues to exist.
Breathing is too dangerous for the people complaining about the dangers of cycling. Pathetic individuals
60km/h over paves is insane.
entre dans la légende: the cycling man!
Great race 😎bravo
He is the lengend
greatest rider of all time....
Mais non.....
God on wheels🎉
Супер!
Goat!
Cool.
People really need to start understanding that we are seeing someone on a bike, someone who is so insanely good, that we will probably never see something like him again. MvdP is one of a kind, the Max Verstappen of cycling. I would recommend everyone to watch every race he is in, it is so much worth it. I am not even so much a cyling fan, I barely watch it, but MvdP has me watching full races now. I think that says enough about his skill.
Pareil pour Pogacar.
Was a cool ride but we do need to keep it in context without the other big stars, like WVA.
I feel bad for Pedersen, he would be winning everything if it weren't for MVDP
Surely other teams are currently enjoying a vacation in these classics with MVDP around. simply no answer to this legend rider we are privilaged to witness. It seems when ever he takes to the start line peloton know thier fate, the DS of other teams should worry about thier job. No clue how to reign in MVDP. Wonder if Van Aert should stuck to his older plan and not invested so much at altitude. He was better off at Cyclo Cross leading up to these races.
What? Did you bump your head? Van Aert crashed in their first race against each other then started from a stand still and brought a 45 second gap down to 11 seconds. Then he crashed broke 7 ribs, collarbone, sternum. We have no idea what his form was. We only saw him at one race after altitude and he did damn good despite crashing.
“It’s rainbows in Ru-bay” 😂
Man, must be nice to have a car draft you back that long.
cyclocross prepared MVDP for this!!
This is far more exciting than TDF.
What? Did you watch Itzulia? Tours are far more interesting.
Release the power data of MvdP! I want to see the watts!
I dont !
61 on cobbles, no way.
So now we know why that reporter yesterday asked “Do you go for the win or second place behind MVDP?”…
UCI : Installing MVDP on bikes is too fast and will be banned!
I am getting Formula 1 vibes 😂 the competition is left behind confused and the Dutch win 😊
MVDP another day at the office
With no Pogoçar and Van Aert, Alpecin has it way easier to win at Roubaix.
yeah, that's true
60kph on the cobbles..yakidding me 😭
Great accomplishment even if PR does nothing for me.
Welcome to the new normal in one-day races: get a decent gap with an hour-plus before the finish and the rest of the peloton will argue amongst themselves before quickly settling in to race for second place. MVDP was probably going to win today, but the way his opponents gave up once he got a gap was a shame, and it made for a boring finale (see also: Strade Bianchi.) an actual ambitious chase group (even one with some of his teammates in it) could have kept his lead short enough to force him to push and take risks which might've resulted in a fall or puncture, at which point suddenly the chase group is back in the game. Modern cycling tactics value low-risk third place over high-risk first place, and it's a shame.
Exactly! Race was so fun and stressful to watch until he attacked.
don't forget his 2 team mates chased down every attempt to get away once he was gone... that killed that group, not that MVDP was gone.
I think the teammates are key. It's not that MVDP was going to win today, but that Alpecin led by MVDP and backed by Philipsen and Vermeersch was going to win. Group 2 dynamics (at any distance to the finish) are because everyone in the group is on equal footing and Alpecin's startlist made sure they would have 2 or 3 guys when everyone else had 1.
Exactly! WVA in great shape would put on a fight. Unless he gets unlucky like last year :(
@@cyclist2906 They did not chase for MVDP, they did it for Jasper no? I am a huge fan of van der poel but we all don't wanna watch these types of races. 60-80 km attack is insane, that's what I'm saying. No one worked for the second group except Pedersen, that's just sad.
No competition
E talmente superiore agli altri che fa diventare la corsa noiosa fortissimo
Philipsen 2nd like last year.
why do people like the guy at 1:09 hold up his wheels like that? I see that every video
They give those wheels to the cyclists with a flat tire, after a cobble road. Because a lot of cyclists get flat tires after the cobbles
The worst edition I can remember in a howler for the spring classics in general. Ok Wout would have made Flanders and Roubaix competitive. No other sport though has so many top names missing regularly from flagship events. Perhaps we need to introduce a ranking system with the riders competing for the No. one spot where the Monuments are compulsory. Imagine watching Remco, Tadej, Wout, Mathieu and Tom battle it out! Then maybe Rob Hatch’s ludicrous hyperbole, “A race for the ages” might actually bear some relation to the truth. Best wishes to Wout, Jonas, Remco and others in their recovery.
Delusional
Van de Poel,... Group in a short time i go sprint away ,.... little later group i getting ready to put me in a Sprint Attack,... I am going to sprint group keep watching ,..... on the right time ,.. i am ready see me Sprinting group,..... and no body on earth is able to go with him
VDP is a new Merckx.
No surprises ….
Et les français dans tout ça c était tellement écrit
Not so much the "Hell of the North" today, but just a little bit dusty.
Not true. This route is hellish even on dry & sunny day due to cobbled sections
Bionic
MVDP at this point is above Wout Van Aert.
always has been. Both have similar records, but when you look at who prevails when they're head-to-head, MVdP is clearly the better of the two.
True but wva does much more for the team, they are quite different type of cyclist imo
@@michelepiserchia1403 well when they were younger they were comparable. But now that they're 29, 30 yr old, it's clear that MVDP has a better career. WVA is good for Visma as a grand tour domestique, but I doubt that is is all WVA set out to only be. Big men want classics wins if they're to become greats of the sport.
@@WanderingSword definitely agree, though I believe that wva could have done more in his career (till now at least) if had some luck on his side
@@michelepiserchia1403 yeah, that's what he wants to be remembered for, doing more for the team. IMO, WVA has one more year, two tops, to win RVV or P-R, history will write him off as a guy who never quite lived up to his potential.
Van der Piwl gewinnt , wie Bernard Hinault im Regenbogen Trikot
He was good 2 times Paris-Roubaix....but Roger De Vlaeminck, Tom Boonen, they have a 4 times win
2 times Paris Roubaix winner and still counting...
Mathieu still has some years to go, he will beat all Belgians in the next years.

Why don t they ride gravelbikes?
