Engine Fires/Blocks Falling Out/Other Engine Failures of 2019

2019 ж. 18 Шіл.
2 098 352 Рет қаралды

Engine Fires, Blocks Falling Out, and Other Engine Failures can happen during any hook on any track at any time. We hope this never happens, but it does. One puller told me recently, "We may have an idea it's going to happen [or likely going to happen], but we really get to see what happened when it goes and how to resolve it." All the engine failures of the 2019 tractor truck pulling season that were filmed by WWPTV. #tractor #tractorpull #tractorpulling #tractorpullfails #tractorpullmishaps #tractorpullcarnage

    • i dont know anything about these tractor pulls,how can these tractors with 4engines not be able to pull the weight without blowing all 4engines,like i said i know nothing about engines that have all that horse power,thats gotta be hard on the wallet,how much does the winner take home?

    • @@jerryedwards4489 I'm not suggesting they "try" to blow their engines up. But if you're going for the win... well, you're tempting fate by now. I got feedback from a more recent video explaining how a standard engine block is literally written into the rules. So add ridiculously overpowered parts, and destroying the block is becoming a real danger.

    • Of all the motor sports, Demolition Derby and Tractor Pulls have always been my favorite. With DD, it's the figure 8 intersection and with Tractor Pulls its the engine failures. The excitement just never ends.

    • @Dave Micolichek Dave, I can remember the day they delivered it to our house. I was 12 and a couple friends were there. We callled dibs for first ride in the 3rd seat. Back in the day seat belts were dust collectors. First look under the hood was like wow, full compartment of all power!. White gas back then too, much better than todays dinosaur piss. My mom loved the wagon carting us all over.Was same color green as 70's show. Your right about kids being surprised at the challenge, leaving them in the dust was easy. What you'd call a sleeper today, no looks but fuckin cooks.Brake stands were good too fog the scene but hard on her. Beers always helped with show!! Loaded up with 8 teenagers out hauling cost me more than a couple exhaust repairs. A lot of fun back then. My next car was an Olds Cutlass 350 4 barrel, black with tan interior, I didn't hammer that one. Wish I had that 455 still, what a power plant to build on. Shove it into my wifes 87 trans am. She be happy!!

  • seems to me these pulling associations could put together a few guys with some real fire extinguishers to put fires out on these tractors and trucks, that are putting money in their very pockets, instead of track staff standing around watching some one's tractor burn up?? wtf over?? glad I'm not running my equipment on a track or under an organization that's too cheap to buy some fire extinguishers just to have on hand, that's the very least that should be done.

    • You took the words right out of my mouth. I can't believe the total lack of adequate fire suppression, -especially considering all of the alcohol motors being run, -that stuff is downright scary when it lights off..

    • So I have seen groups with them on their hips, at each distance marker, you name it. But when something like that happens, I’m paid to stay there. The officials are paid to see to matters on the track. But a lot of times, these invisible fires sneak up on them. The visible fire to the Everman tractor was tough to watch because the announcer was telling them there was fire. And I have heard numerous pullers say that chemicals does a lot of harm to an engine. I saw one guy recently have an extinguisher on his hip and it was exhausted and the fire was still going. Fuel was cut off but somehow it was still leaking on to a hot header. Took about 8 minutes total to completely put out.

      @WWPTV@WWPTV4 жыл бұрын
    • @@WWPTV Yeah, I know firsthand what a dry-chem extinguisher does on an engine fire, -they are cheap, but they almost cause more aftermath damage than they are worth. I suppose if the thing was going to burn to the ground, -well, that'd be a different story. Once that dry-chem powder sees any moisture, it is corrosion city, -no good at all. CO2 extinguishers are where it's at for stuff like this. Halon used to be the shizz-nizzle until they quit making it, now they are super expensive.

    @rogerrossman5124@rogerrossman51242 жыл бұрын
    • Understood. What is catastrophic to you and the puller could be entirely different things. For a 4 wheel drive puller losing your front or rears could be a big deal. We will call them in the future, "When the pulling expectation isn't the desired result" and see how that title does.

It’s rare that they actually need to go on the track, but they do if there’s a bad accident such as a driver getting caught on fire or knocked out or he has a medical emergency like a heart attack.

  • The track needs to invest in a pumper fire engine and have some hose lines ready with self expanding foam to knock the. Would be alot better than trying to get the flames out with fire extinguishers and hoping you all have enough to get the fires out. Even a gas powered pump connected to a huge tank of SEF will a two inch hose and high pressure firefighting type nozzle would be a pretty good setup for battling large fuel and or oil fed flames. Be safe ya'll.
