Technic History:
The TECHNIC theme is characterized by the presence of axles, gears, connector pegs, and many other parts rarely seen in typical LEGO System sets. TECHNIC is still currently an active theme, and is one of the longest-lasting themes in LEGO history.
Almost all TECHNIC sets are vehicles, and thus use pieces to mimic real vehicles, such as engine pieces, suspension, pneumatic, and transmission pieces.
In recent years, System sets have begun to adopt previously TECHNIC-exclusive parts, particularly in the Exclusives and Star Wars sets. Many modern sets, including TECHNIC sets themselves, blur the distinction between the two systems considerably.
Interesting LEGO fact:
- In September 2014, Lego passed Hasbro to become the world’s second biggest toy maker, behind Mattel (who creates Barbie, Fisher-Price, and Hot Wheels).

  • So, I did the math, 42k pieces divided by 2,595 for 180$, we're looking at 16.2 x 180 and that comes out to approximately 3k. This man spent three THOUSAND dollars and this build. (That's if he isn't like, sponsored by Lego or something)

  • 18:51 it would have been awesome if the stamp showed the model features in term of payload capacity rather than the actual truck ones...also it is illegal everywhere to have two vehicles with the exact same plate, as shown here where bpoth the truck and the semi have mk 42078 as plate

    • Niflheim I don't mind lights or any other small system pieces without studs or the sharp corners (like the yellow water nozzle on the 42068, for example), but this set has way too much. The massive Lego base plate behind the cabin and air intake are especially bad. I don't mind the (for example) the sleeper and seats, because all the studs are covered and it's nice and round.
