All these goats had a habit of running off into the fields, so the owners of this little farm had an electric fence installed, and now the goats get a small shock that tells them to stay within the boundaries of the fence. Even the cat is following the rules.
A monkey’s curiosity almost gets killed when it is electrocuted and falls to the ground. The monkey can be seen on the ground, semi-conscious. For some reason, people put sand on the monkey and leave him there. Perhaps it is to cool off his body.

  • a friend of mine used to keep his calf contained by an electric fence. My friend was doing a small repair on the fence without bothering to turn off the fence and instead wearing heavy rubber boots. Since he was not grounded, he was nor getting shocked, at least until the calf quietly walked up and put his nose against my friends butt completing the circuit.

  • A couple things, electrocute means to be killed with electricity. I was raised on a farm in Montana. From the time I was four we had a milk cow. At one point we kept the calf to butcher when the calf was 2 years old. The next year we had a second calf and the first calf wanted to mother it and in trying to do so was tearing up the calf pen fence. My father decided to barrow his father’s fence charger. Now there are different levels of fence chargers, the one grandpa had when I was 4-5 years old would only tickle me as I was standing barefoot in wet grass. This one was a totally different ball of wax. It buckled my knees when I was wearing boots on dry ground. So my father completed installing the fence right at noon. About 5 minutes later the steer got its head in between the charged wire and a second wire. He almost tore the fence out. For the rest of the afternoon about every 15-20 minutes he would sniff the new wire. We would hear him bellow and he would kick himself in the belly with both hind feet. After that he maintained a five foot clearance to that wire. The next spring we needed to string a plumber’s snake through the pasture. All the other cows sniffed and stepped over the snake. Not him! He treated it with the same five foot clearance as the electric fence.

  • I installed a single strand of electric wire above our 3 foot fence to keep the dog from jumping it. He could easily clear the fence in one bound. But he suddenly decided the back yard was OK, after just one experience when his nose touched that wire as he was in flight. It was interesting to see the dog try to back up in mid-air.

  • All true. I have seen dead squirrels after it was running down the telephone line. Burnt the transformer. We had horses that kept going through the barb wire, built a pasture with electric fence. One day the fence wasn't working, I walked the fence line and saw a small bird hanging upside down still attached to the fence dead but after it touched the fence pole. I made myself and children how to touch the fence without electrocution. Don't stand in water. I was myself struck by lightning, the charge starts at the ground, made every hair on my legs pop like that candy pops in your mouth. Turned me around and made my arms go into the sky. Burnt my underarms. Took me 10 years to start feeling the pinch of a needle for vaxs or draw blood. There was all kinds of lightning strikes that night, no rain. Again I wasn't electrocuted totally, was there's no water in the ground. I was a conduit for the start to strike of the lightning. Your technical term between electrocution and electric shock is the same to the people who are killed or almost killed by getting hit. One you die the other you suffer for years.
