I wanted to clarify that the reason I was seeing ghosting was because the screen was set to 60hz refresh rate, impacting smoothness and causing it to be more stuttery looking. I discovered this while doing the final summary at the end. Once I changed the refresh rate to 165 hz, the display was very responsive and excellent for E-Sports. No problem.
So it means when you set sir on the 60hrz there's a lag? Or ghosting? But over all it's a good gaming laptop especially for students?

Got this for 1100 USD and I think it's a pretty good deal as in my country the dell g15 i7 12700h + 3060 costs 1300 USD and the nitro 5 has thermal issues so I never considered it even though the 3070ti version was in the same price. Hi, so i bought this laptop last month, and the rgb keyboard lighting is stuck on blue color, and the predator sense app cant control the keyboard lighting aymore. I have tried to uninstalled and reinstalled the app, still not working. Even restarted the acer lighting service in task manager service, any thoughts? Thanks.

Hey gizmo, I have a question. Im looking forward to getting a 4060 laptop. The place where I live, the g16 with 4060 is priced almost same as neo 16 with 4060. The only difference between the two laptops is the screen resolution where neo provides you with 2560x1600. So which one do u personally prefer?
Is the color gamut on the Neo higher than the Strix? If they are both 100% sRGB, then it doesn't matter too much. I personally would prefer the QHD display usually, but be ready to fiddle with more graphical settings to get some games to run smoother.
How about the its single thread performance?

There is an empty M2 slot on there. I upgraded the laptop with 1 TB NVME SSD from crucial and it's so good on the speed

It doesn't matter. FPS it shows is what that machine is capable of like if it is showing 300 fps then that machine is capable of 300 fps but since refresh hertz is 165 no matter how much more fps u r getting you won't feel it more than 165. An external monitor can help you in experiencing more than 165 fps
In my predator helios neo 16 when i am not plug in the device limits my fps to 30 in games, is there a way to boost up my fps to 60 even though i am not plug in?

Nah man 799 is nuts and I just bought it myself! Get it while you can, I've been researching laptops and looking for months waiting to buy until I saw this one for $799 and just decided to pull the trigger and go for it.

In lieu of hauling around 975 watt, 8.7 pound power supply/doorstop, can I just use a regular 45 watt 19.x volt normal PS when I doing normal stuff for work?
Doubt it. 45W isn't much and you risk tripping OCP (best case) or burning out the PSU taking the laptop with it (worst case) if it tries to draw a lot more than 45W. CPU turbo spike can easily cause that on its own as you load a program etc. You can try running in eco mode, but for 45W I'd be turning off turbo completely (throttlestop) and booting into iGPU only mode to try and prevent power spikes but it'll be very underwhelming performance... 90W would be a safer bet 8.7 pounds is heavier than the laptop lol. 975W is also total overkill, my other laptop is a DIY water-cooled Clevo P870DM3 dual gtx1080 @250W max with 9900K@170W max and the most I've ever seen on the wall meter is 650W even with peak OC benchmarking

Is it okay to put the fan at max for a long time?
Yes, but I would only do that when using the laptop to something intensive. Set the fans to normal speed when doing light tasks. The fan motors do eventually break typically after years of use.

the 4050 has frame gen aka DLSS 3 if you don't play many games that use it or take advantage of frame gen then the asus TUF with 7600s might be better since it has 2gb more VRAM

@@MommyMatildaMeow Best Buy reviews say that the battery isn't great but also not terrible. If you want it for school stuff and won't be able to have it connected most of the time, it might be a problem as it can probably last up to 3-4 hours while not gaming. There are probably some things you can do to improve battery life though
It's a rebranded i7-12700H and just 17.5k at 140W is anything but impressive. This thing is the least efficient thing that I have seen in some time. Reminds of CPUs like the i5-10500H, i7-10875H.
Its impressive for an i5 chip. My old i9-11980HK in the legion 7i I had scored less than this, and that cost me $3500 two years ago… this is mainly impressive for the price, or at least good for the price, if it can sustain 140W. It is not particularly great performance for so much wattage though, and I think that is mainly what you are pointing out
