The Total Solar Eclipse is Raking Place April 8, 2024. You nee approved specialized glasses to view the Total Solar Eclipse on April 8, 2024. During Totality, the skies go mainly dark in the middle of the afternoon. This is the only time it’s safe to remove eye protection.
All of the U.S. will be able to see the solar eclipse in some capacity, but totality, the main event of the total solar eclipse will be seen in a sliver from Texas to Maine on April 8, 2024.
The Devil’s comet may also be visible during totality, however only experienced astronomers should try and find it as it may not be visible to the naked eye. It will be hanging out below jupiter to the left of the eclipse. Looking near the sun with binoculars or a telescope is extremely dangerous.

  • FYI: watchers will also be able to see a very rare sight during this eclipse. 12P Pons Brooks or more commonly known as Devil Comet will be passing through the skies during the alignment of the planets during the eclipse’s peak. This comet is a wandering comet and has a tail millions of miles long so the visual will be astounding. The odds of this eclipse combining with the alignment of the planets and the Devil Comet are 1/32000 years. Making this solar event one of biblical proportions.

  • It's fun to watch birds during an eclipse. They suddenly get confused probably thinking they should be in their nests readying themselves for nighttime. They will fly around squaking like crazy looking for places to alight. And it seems to get quiet and one will notice a breeze that wasn't there before. This is the effect our sun has on daily living on this planet. We are so used to it that it takes an eclipse to jar our memories.

    • Whoa! You skipped right over Missouri!!! I wonder why. We had one in 2017 over the same area this one is crossing making an X over the country. Did you pass on the potential fear rooted responses? If so, I understand. This is strictly weather, not Bible theory. Nonetheless I believe I am in a very special place even if it only because an eclipse crossed over me twice in just a few years and just so happened my son and I were under one in his first year of birth in Wood River Illinois. He’s here under the cross with me today with his two sons. We are already blessed and will be one more eclipse blessed after this next one…or something more!!! • Great Call Out! When I went to see the total solar eclipse in 2017, I looked around right before totality (the few minutes before). The shadowing effect had a VERY surreal appearance! Not like the sun going down on the horizon. This shadowing effect is something you really need to look at. And you are correct about the temperature change as well. I hope I can make the drive to see this next one in April. It’s suppose to last almost twice as long as the 2017 event.
