In the books, that’s what turns him on actually 😂 he falls for her intelligence, rebelliousness and her ambition nature of doing something for herself. He wasn’t angry at her for being Whistledown, he was rather jealous of her cuz he hadn’t found a purpose in life. In the show, Benedict is shown to face that as an artist cuz his story will take affect after Colin’s. And Colin finds his purpose after marrying Penelope in writing so they switched some of the traits off between Colin and Benedict in the show from the book

@@h.dungore839hope they tone down or do a more mature take on his whole ‘jealousy’ moment. Not saying to get rid of the plot beat entirely just maybe improve it. He manhandled and got mad at her a lot in such a misguided way. Not saying fiction shouldn’t show some dysfunction in romance stories, but idk they didn’t really delve into it deep enough. Pen is always encouraging Colin on his writing, his travel journals are well written and she says to publish them. He should consider it such high praise that a successful writer like pen gave him such a glowing review. For him to get mad about LW is so… I like the angle that he was mad more so about how much danger she was putting herself in, being unchaperoned and going into hired hacks into town for years. I’m sure he didn’t like the LW tabloids initially, but after figuring out the full context that it was his most prized friend writing them and her intentions, it’s hard to stay mad, really. She always wrote quite biased articles on the bridgertons and never misspoke or lied about their lives. You can’t really fault a girl in a struggling high born family with no father to support them that also gambled away their assets. She had few prospects and she was protecting herself with the earnings from LW. Can’t hate on a girl in regency era making her own dowry purr

@@surette2012 oh I’m sure they would tone it down with Colin’s jealousy. Luke Newton who plays Colin, has said that the reason we even have some of the Polin moments in season 1 and 2 is cuz he has read their book so his been leaving small bread crumbs along the way. Plus Colin seems like the soft and obedient type in the show, and even in the book he is kind to Pen but just scared of losing her later on. And I feel like most likely Colin will be more focused on being “jealous” of Lord Doblin and Pen’s relationship. The rumors about the show, has it that they won’t be revealing Pen’s identity of being Lady WD till after their marriage cuz like they still need Lady WD till Benedict’s story next season. Also I was rereading “romancing mister Bridgeton” just yesterday, and the part about Colin and Pen’s engagement announcement came where Lady WD’s last article comes, Colin gets mad at her for sure but later realizes it that it’s cuz he loves her so much that he can’t bear the thought of being without Pen🤔 he wasn’t abusive towards her for being Lady WD, he was just scared about what society would do if they found out Pen is Lady WD🤷‍♀️ he later just confesses to Pen that he might be jealous of her cuz she has created a legacy for her lard while he has nothing. I don’t think he was mad about it though, he was just confused and lost as to what his goal in the life is, until Pen makes him realize to produce his journals and he himself asks her to become his editor since she has beensuccessful writer for over a decade in the book. He doesn’t even question her about the horrible things she wrote about his family for over a decade and doesn’t freak out on her like Eloise did in the show. He was just worried for her plus he was intrigued by her change in attitude cuz until their season, Pen hadn’t really argued or even held full blown conversations with Colin and he found that side of hers really refreshing🤷‍♀️ I think in the new season, Colin is gonna be like “oooohh look at me i’m a sexy traveler look at my new style of flirting” which will flatter all the women in ton besides Pen cuz Pen is trying to avoid showing any emotions for him now. And then during their lessons, Pen will be unintentionally romancing the shit out of Colin to the point where Colin will be amazed by how wonderful, clever, and beautiful Pen is! Sort of like how Anthony realized Kate was since she was the only who challenged his way of thinking or doing things😂🤷‍♀️
