OZ 7 Day - Eastern drenching, then cooler + Darwin’s possible cyclone risk

2024 ж. 2 Сәу.
12 121 Рет қаралды

Thunderstorms and heavy downpours will affect NSW, parts of QLD and maybe even the ACT and Victoria in the coming days as a small area of low pressure lingers. Rainfall totals may exceed 100mm in some locations.
Next week, once this rain has moved through, a colder southerly comes in with a chance of snow on the mountains and ranges of Tasmania and then frosty weather through higher elevations as far north as northern NSW. It will be a significant temperature reset for some locations, and even spreading into central areas like Alice Springs.
But it remains hot in the west with some locations still in the mid to late 30s.
There are two tropical lows worth monitoring - an offshore one from Broome and then, potentially, a new tropical system north of Darwin. This is certainly not yet locked in, but has been showing up in modelling for a few days now. In the tropics lows can form and drift in any direction - so it’s very early days and, for now, there is no threat to land. But later next week the tropics will have some low pressure and very heavy rain worth monitoring.
We’ll catch you again next week!

From the Northern Gold Coast and last year the pacific air show gold coast 2023 took place in front of the beach High rises over Surfers Paradise so would like you to fly a biplane or a screaming jet or something over our great beaches - 500 feet could be good

  • Great report as always. Where i live Springbrook mountain Gold coast, last month one day with no rain. wet again this month. Do not watch Tv weather anymore to much global warming for me. El Niño is tipped to bring scorching temperatures to Australia's east this summer. I prefer watching the sun and its cycles of sunspots.More accurate than Al Gore which would have had all N.Z. and Aus costal cities under water. PolitiFact | Fact-checking claims that Al Gore said all Arctic ice will ... In 2009, Al Gore loosely cited researchers and said there was a "75% chance" the ice could be gone during at least some summer months within five to seven years. So many lies, Greed, Control, it is hard to get a simple weather report. Good job Bro!

    • If we started seeing 30 degree days in the middle of a Perisher winter, then I would know that something is going on. The seasons continue to come when they are due, as do the cyclones. In reality, nothing much has changed at all and the oceans are most certainly not rising. One viewing of the very low lying Maldives proves that. It was predicted in 1988 that the Maldives would be in an Octopuses garden by 2018 but they continue to sit pretty above the waves for the tourists to come to. There is only so much wolf crying before we stop listening.

  • Well we started having rain fall at midday today at Cranebrook so I am very happy as the light rain we had on Tuesday did not soak my pots & I needed to go & water the poor things but now I will wait & see how much we actually get out of this lot. I am not thrilled about the coming southerlies as I really feel the cold to the extent of my hands & arms cramping despite the fact that I use magnesium oil regularly. By the way, you killed Goulburn which is pronounced 'goal burn' & Merimbula on the coast is 'Mare-rim-buu-lar'. Good try!! Don't worry, they are trying to change some of our suburbs etc to unpronounceable Aboriginal names. Also many of us kill your New Zealand place names... 🤣🤣🤣
