'Top Speed Germany' is a German KZhead channel for people who love cars.
My Name is Max and I film while driving cars. No matter if they are old, fast, loud or electric. They need to be special! With several onboard cams, I record everything important to show you High-Speed-Runs, Acceleration tests ( 0-100 kph / 0-200 kph / 100-200 kph / 200-300 kph ) and test drives on German Autobahn or Road. Please note, Germany is the country of "no speed limit" highways. So in some places, it's allowed to drive very fast. But please don't try this if you are not an experienced driver !! If you enjoy give a like and subscribe for more videos ;-) .

Hugely impressive how a small and old Opel with only 75 hp achieves 190 km/h. I remember one of my first cars was a Corsa B with only 54 hp and it still reached 160 km/h without problems :) Those 70s - Mid 2000s cars are truly legendary...
My first car was a Kadett E 1.4 60 hp with 4 gears. On level ground he easily hit the rev limiter at 190 km/h. It pulled really well even at low revs. That felt like a lot more than 60hp, great car and engine back then!
I am pretty sure it could do more. Look at the left thingy. Its still far from the red. It looks like he could reach 200+ km/h.
@@Luke.Skywodka The Kadett E was also very light. We had a 1.6 caravan (saloon), enough for a nice holiday with 4 people plus luggage - in short, your 80s/90s family car. The frickin' thing weighed less than a ton. IIRC, at least including a small trailer, you could legally have more payload than the car itself weighed. Regarding the Astra F, we had one after that, I learned to drive in them. Ours couldn't do much more than 170 or something, at least you didn't want to drive any faster. I recall these things getting really light on the front wheels at 150+ Mechanically they are in some respects like old Mercs - the engines could do 300-500.000 kilometers. But wayyy before that, unfortunately, came the rust. I'm also not sure, why the Brits hated these things so much and loved their Fords. Yeah, the Escorts, and later the Focus handled a bit better, while the Astra F was a bit soft. But this was still quality German engineering. And both the Kadett and Astra were really safe cars for their time, passing tough offset crash tests long before Ford and the French put any money in passive safety.
@@stefanmarinov2864 Keep in mind the speedo on the Astra F was rather unprecise. In my experience you could subtract 10kph, even at lower speeds.

This pisses me a lot when I drive on the autobahn. I have a similar Astra with a 2.0 Turbo engine - swapped from a Calibra. And especially BMW are like "why should I let him overtake, he drives just an old Astra, he's probably already doing his best".
Yeah me too,so pissed about this driver with X4,so stupid!🤦♂️
Anyone who buys an X4 is automatically a mouth breather or simply blind.

That's a real Opel. At 28000km she is still brand new. I owned a Kadett with 20seh engine. And before I sold it, I took it over 450 000km with no major issues. They low on power but the engines can go forever its maintained. Thanks for the video.
Bro am I missing a joke, 28000 kilometres is nothing. It's just a few percent of 450 000. So yeah I'd hope the car is essentially new at 28000km
She was rarely used but it's aigth
I have a 1995 montero and at 467000km on the clock still drive like brand new
Only issue is clutch and the rubber hosses and it is a pretty tough car i would say
I have the exact engine (X16SZR) in one of my Astras with more than 600 000 km on it and it still runs well without any major repairs.
I cannot believe that this car revs only 4000 around 160 km/h :D My 2009 Ford Focus 1.6 Ti-VCT revs 4000 at little over 130 km/h, even though its engine puts out over 1.5 times more bhp. This actually makes this old Astra more suitable for long distance driving... Why do we need modern cars to be so complicated? Looking at this fine example, who needs 16 valves or variable valve timing? Not to mention all the real complicated stuff we have in our cars nowadays... :D
Two Things: Emissions and State Mandatory Fuel Consumption Averages
4000 at 130? 😲My Astra k (petrol) revs 2.900 at 150km/h. Your Focus isn’t a turbo-engine, is it?
Lol my 2004 mitsubishi colt revs 3k at 130 kmh
@@AndreCampanaMeretika I know! And those goals are not inherently wrong. The real downside of the required technical changes is that they have seemingly contributed to cars getting generally less dependable and more costly and cumbersome to maintain. And that ICE engines in general have been loosing from their character.
@@Astrameise_ it is a naturally aspirated. Yours is not only a turbo but it's also got a 6-speed transmission, though, I believe.
Cars from other "Era ",when OPEL was Opel.👌
My father had an Astra F Cravan 1.7 TDS with the same interior, steering wheel and airbags. Now my grandfather is driving it, still runs and drives fine. The chassis have a lot of rust the only problem is that. The interior is insanely well built. The materials are really really high quality comparing to the newer cars. My father used that car as a daily he towed trailers with it he used it on a lot of dusty field roads and there is not even one crack on the dashboard. Only the steering wheel leather is in bad condition. İ remember one time my father towed our 4 ton tractor with this car.
120mph in a near 30 year old Astra is extremely impressive
I LOVE watching cars like this. I have no idea why these cars are so entertaining to see on the autobahn.
Sounds very good! A hot hatch from 2021 can learn from that sound!!!!
It's exactly what I was about to write
absolutely agree with that
It's because all new engines have opf/gpf which sucks up all the sound. Sadly
Love 90's cars. Even with 75 cv you have fun with a pretty sound and good performances ( for 75 Cv ) because the cars were light. This car had a monopoint injection system if I'm not wrong that was designed to save fuel but at the end the engine had almost the same consum that the multipoint system...good test!!!
Yeah but the multipoint found on GT 1,4 and 1,6 made 85hp and 105 which is excellent for a hot hatch back then and the GT and gsi had a getrag 5speed .... this is normal . Astra f what a great hot hatch . And group A and N legend

Not bad, but please consider that Opel speedos of the '90s indicated often 10% more than real speed. My first car was an Astra "F" in 5 doors, 1.4 16v 90 hp. I remember the sound of the engine and the exhaust, it had a nice nice sound. It was a comfortable car, but I had the electric front windows lol. Very good video.
We had the same Astra F sedan in India from 1996-2003 . At first they introduced it with 75hp then they increased it to 84hp in 98 and finally increased it to 95hp in 2000 with Multipoint fuel injection engine slightly detuned for us as we had poor quality of fuel I guess . Anyway in India this car was poor man's Mercedes when it was launched in the 90s, only the rich and the powerful got it because above it was the Mercedes W124 E class. Anyway the Astra F in India had All power windows, power steering , Electronic ORVMs , Digital multi information display, Adjustable rear headrest ,ABS, Impact beams on all sides , Cooled glovebox and Galvanised steel unibody platform for Rust protection + Sunroof was also given in 1999 in the club variant . This was ahead of it's time by 6years atleast for India. Its one of my favourite cars 🚗 from childhood 😍 .I loved watching this video, I may never get to drive this car but I atleast got to feel it in this POV style drive vlog 😌😇❤🙌. Damn that 128nm torque was no joke . It looks quick even today. I am happy 😊.
This engine was originally made for Opel Corsa A GSi and had multipoint injection (code C16SE) and had exactly 100hp. When Euro2 was introduced, the engine was downgraded to pass the required limits to 70hp (X16SZ) and few years later it came out with a newer ECU and gained 5 more hp resulting in 75hp. In late 90's the engine was rebuild to match Euro3 (Z16SZ) and returned to 70hp, but the mutlipoint edition returned as Z16SE with 86hp, but these were only for Astra G, Zafira A and Vectra B/C. But this engine was introduced even before Corsa was made. It's origin is in the 20NE engine, which was first real OHC engine. It replaced the Opel CIH (cam-in-head) engine, the 20E engine found in Opel Rekord, which was the first ever electronic injection engine by Opel. This engine is with few changes still used and is considered the most reliable gasoline engine ever made by GM.
I had this model in my youth. Drove so much, all day and night.
