Kpop started in SK, they sing in korean with little bit of english, the earlier idols are all korean or korean descendant, then other east asian and south east asian became kpop idols. They are made in Korea. I prefer to see this pattern continue other than having non korean or non east asian or south east asian performing as idol singing in English only promoting in korean music show. Their management is using korean music show as a stepping stone to get attention from non korean kpop listeners (like you and other international kpoppers) before they go to western market. Their management said they are global group.
What I like about XG is that all members are SO DIFFERENT from each other in terms of their visuals.. I feel like they are proving that girl groups DON'T need some shits like plastic jobs that would erace their unique beaties and features.. ppl can shine if they just embrace them and polish them with skills and hard works 💕👌✨ so refreshing especially in Kpop industry.

I think Koreans should be very proud that XG wants to promote in Korea. It means that SK has developed into an epicenter of music and people around the world would love to be part of the stage there. If anything, it's a compliment and Korea should feel very proud of their country's soft power and impact upon the global entertainment industry. Being xenophobic just limits its growth. Korean groups used to go to Japan and now Japanese groups want to go to Korea. Isn't that something to be proud of? A sign of your music industry's growth? Simon is right that kpop has evolved into an international phenomenon. So singing in English makes sense.
