That was a great movie, I remember it well. And I suspect that if the Ukrainians developed a drone like the Phantasm Death Sphere, and they sent them out to greet the russian soldiers, they’d drill to find green blood spewing out. Thats because our planet is curved, so you lose the signal when flying both far away and close to the ground.

They have drones that use AI to scan the surrounding area and can still hit the target when the picture goes. But a device that homes in on the jamming signal would do the job nicely.....

They are kamikaze drones. There's a charge attached to them so they fly straight into their target and the charge explodes along with the drone.

Sometimes it's because of blocking technology but the majority it's because they have dropped below the horizon from the transmitter so lose signal. Then once they've reached the target there is no drone anymore to send a signal.

Talk to Russians everyday who trust you to be open and you will find Putin is not popular. Russians have two sides the public and private. A public Russian is a completely different person to a private. Some of what he said is true but if you ever visited in the 90's you would have seen it full of gangsters. Yes it improved a lot but the corruption is now centralised. They do think they are surrounded but apart from The Crimea they care little for Ukraine. Putin is to blame and he is killing his own and he is to blame so don't talk him up as it is a betrayal of Russia.

All that Russia was asking for was that Ukraine remain neutral in the same way that America threatened war when the Soviet Union was putting missiles on Cuba. You may say Nato is purely defensive but they have a nuclear sharing strategy where each member is pressured into hosting nuclear weapons. And who is the stated enemy of Nato that these missiles are aimed at? The latest Nato world situation summary that I read last year now also names China as an enemy to be confronted. Whilst Russia provided Europe with energy and China provides manufactured goods the military men at Nato declare them enemies that must be defeated.

The Germans thought exactly the same about Hitler. Making people's lives better is admirable, it's how you go about doing it is what matters.

It is working well for Ukraine. With a 5:1 dead ratio on the offensive, Russia can only go so far with its advances. Russia fights for temporary advantages, while Ukraine is much more strategic in conserving its troops. Russia is not going to win, no matter how hard it tries.

raparri007, you are assuming that the ATACMS sent were part of the $61B package just approved. They were not. Every month, the US President gets about $300M in appropriations for emergency military usage. He used the March appropriation to buy/send ATACMS missiles to Ukraine, which they promptly used. If you watched the news a little more, you’d know that.
