Today is the last of our journey through Paul’s letter to the Ephesians. We started this on the 28th of January and a lot has happened since then including Easter. Unless I go back and read the sermons again even I can’t remember all the details of the journey so I guess most of you who have sat through them can’t either. So I am going to conclude with summary of our journey. Remember that the overall title is Impacting our World as God intended we would he established his church.
So let’s very briefly reflect on the journey. We have seen that there are two realities. That of the material and tat of the physical world that which we see with our eyes and process with our minds and the Spiritual reality. Both represent the totality of life as God sees it. That is the cosmic view of creation. However, our expectations of what God can achieve are more often controlled by our understanding of the material and physical world than it is by the spiritual reality. Remember that last week I pointed out that we often lock God in the box of our own understanding which is guided by society and our intellect. Whereas Paul makes sure that his readers know that they are involved in Spiritual Warfare the battle between God and evil. Satan’s authority has already been removed and we Christians even though we often do not act like it actually fight from a position of ultimate complete victory. What does that mean for us in DBay today?
