Hit the like button after "a break room with a sink in it" haha! Congrats!
This guy is so real and so transparent. He gives zero effs about how he appears. One of the few admirable youtubers with integrity. Most "companies" which are only one person would try to persuade you they have some large business - not Will. He is the real deal and if you're a person/company who values quality over quantity, I'm all bust certain Will is the guy for you.
Yes 100% and I’ve learned a lot from this channel.
Very cool new office! Happy for you and Katie. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate knowing and having you help me a few times now. It’s a relief and peace of mind knowing such a cool knowledgeable Synology team is available if needed. I can’t thank you enough for all the hard work you do. Thanks Will! - Will Hoenig AllPeace Care hospice. Los Angeles, California
It’s like giving a kid a big hunk of chocolate and standing back and watching them fly!!! lol. Congrats Will and Kate. It’s a big step and a sign of your commitment and great work.
Will has been a great sanity check on my projects running solo IT direction for a 200 person manufacturing company.
I was there in 82 when PC’s and DOS where in their infant stage. Wanted to start my own consulting business but happened to land an IT job with a major utility. Worked up from tech to senior management. Got to oversee distributed servers, desktops and ended my career with networking supporting 17,000 users. Couldn’t ask for better exposure to tech over 38 years. That said, I’m excited to see you living out my original dream! You’re right it is fun and exciting! Congratulations and I wish the best for you! You’re a smart guy and can enjoy cresting your own destiny, while we enjoy your terrific videos! Keep’em coming!
A break room with a sink in it, you guy's are really going places. 😂 Now get those cups washed. 😂 😂 😂
Great to see the iconic SpaceRex L-shaped desk has made the move to the new office! 🦖
Great office tour! It's great to see behind the scenes. Congratulations, and thanks for sharing!
“We’ve got a break room with a sink…” made me laugh out loud. 🤣
Congrats on the new space man!
Congrats on the new office! Wishing you the best in your chapter. But that cat5 cable lol
How exciting for your team. Congratulations!
Congratulation! Your channel helped me a lot setting up my synology nas.
Congrats !!! Looking forward for new videos from you 🎉🎉🎉
*hits the like button so hard that the screen cracks* - Lovely stuff man. Onwards and Upwards bud!
Loving the vibes ❤ you know you made it when you have a sink! 😊
Congratulations, Will! The first office is a great milestone and feeling! Wishing you great success and luck. You’re the best in this space.
Congrats on the new office. Keep the infrastructure setup videos coming
Thanks! Have a bunch of them filmed!
Still remember me seeing your video on setting up Wireguard on a raspberry pi. Come a long way, keep it up
That was my first “big” video!
Wow, congratulations this is super exciting!!! Been following your channel for the past few years and have incorporated many of your Synology best practices into the IT infrastructure the office I manage. Been so amazing to see your channel and business grow, and your new space opens up so many possibilities for you and additional content for your channel. Again, congrats and looking forward to all that is to come. Cheers!!
Congrats!!! A new nerd nest. Love it!
exciting times... congratulations sir!
Dude this is a beautiful setup! So happy for you 🙂
Love your new office! Congratulations and best of luck to you!
Congratulations!!!🎉😀
Congratulations! This is amazing 🎉
Thanks!
Love the new office! So much more room and space to work. 🎉🎉
Congratulations !!! You guys are doing amazing work
Congrats on the new space. I like these types of videos. Can’t wait for the future ones.
Well done Will, you both deserve this success. Good luck.
Thats great, well done
Congratulations, you work hard. You got something nice 🎉
Duct tape (or I suggest electrical tape) a pull string to your 4 CAT6 cable runs for future needs. It's easy to do it now. Reach out to me for any wiring running questions you might have. I'm down the road in Greensboro and very good at it.
Sweet, doing it riggghhhht!
Hey I wish you all the best in your new office. Please make video of your office in one year time to see the progress.
I've got CAT5 in my walls (run by previous owners who were using it for telephone land lines) and I am effectively using them for 1gig networking. Runs are anywhere from 25 to 50 feet and no issues. Home network consistently maxes out my gig connection. Maybe they installed really quality copper 😊
I really everything turns up great! I hope your next endeavor is creating a NAS with all the amazing features we want and need!
amazing progress. A break room with the server rack in there is not a break room hahahaha
my network is full unifi from the 24 port USW Pro to U6-L6 and the usg-flex-mini with 2 U6 Extenders full house Wifi 6 i wouldn't even go with even cisco switchs Unifi is easy and it just works great. I run a docker for the unifi network appliance, nice new digs
Great to see your progress. I wouldn’t bounce against the server rack that much with those drives :-)
Haha that’s just the outer shell. There is nothing I can do to move the thing even a bit
thank you for your helpful videos. I have small nas running. what I am always in the dark is what happens and what to do if one of the nas drives die.
Congrats! At least you don't have to suffer with HFC anymore!
I want to hear more about the break room. Not the rack unit or the ceiling rack… forget the tech. How’s the coffee?! Did you put in an espresso machine? How about a fridge or freezer? I hope you got comfy chairs! These are the details I want to know about. 😎🤗💪 Congrats on the office! It looks/ sounds legit. In all seriousness I’d love to see another video when you have the office more setup. I know this is a tangent from your normal work tutorials etc but if you’re doing another work tour video I’d love to know more about what kind of office accessories or tech accessories you/ your wife like to use / that help you in your work.
And seriously, tell more about the break room fun stuff!
Not an office until you get the mini fridge in the break room!
Nice office. Got any 100% remote jobs available?? Looks exciting to work with you! Not joking!
Congratulation on your well-deserved success! On a different note, would you consider doing a video on Synology's RADIUS server?
I honestly have never really figured it out lol
@@SpaceRexWill About a year ago, I did finally get it to work (sort of) after dissecting some log files. The problem I had was with the CA, and I had to set every client machine to ignore certificates. As such, it really wasn't too practical that way, so I uninstalled it.
Love your new setup! I too have AT&T fiber at work, but I’m having a difficult time getting more than 220-250 mb up or down. AT&T support said it is because their router/modem device lacks a bridge mode. Our building is decent sized requiring 11 UniFi APs, so for obvious reasons I cannot and do not wish to use the AT&T hardware for my routing and Wi-Fi. I’m using a UniFi CloudKey, UniFi POE+ switches and UniFi Gateway with IDS/IPS enabled. I’m curious whether you think my speed limitations may be the processing capabilities of the UniFi cloud key or whether it is the lack of a bridge mode on the AT&T hardware (as suggested by the AT&T technicians). If anyone else has any experience / speed tests from their AT&T fiber & UniFi hardware combo, I’d be super interested to hear what kind of speeds you’re getting, and if you have any advice for how to boost those speeds. We’re currently on the AT&T business 1gb plan.
That is really weird. You should easily be able to get 1GbE. What I would try first is to plug a computer right into the ATT and do a speed test. That will tell you if its their setup (which they will have to fix) or if its the unifi
There is a way to do ATT fiber direct to the UDM saw it on the reddit
There should be an ONT to convert fiber to Ethernet. Then connecting it to your router. You should not have to use their router.
I would love to see some cable runs, I want to do some side gigs for some small businesses and would love to see some tips and tricks.
Haha you are going to see some cable runs, but from a tips and tricks perspective I’m not going to be too useful. The runs are not pretty
@@SpaceRexWill hahah, yeah my cable runs out to my rack in my garage are not that pretty, but functional :)
Never saw the breakroom
5:07 interesting that you are using dual fiber. What is the maximum speed they can offer? Is it P2P or P2MP?
Thanks so much for the video . sweetie & I love watching office tours. And also, of course, live off all your DSM videos. Now tat you have done YOUR PHYSICAL move maybe you can poke & prod SYNOLOGY PROUCT managers to MOVE as fast in getting the DS2024+ Released that SHOULD have been released in December. Excuse random comment. But anytime I think of Synology I think how it’s absurd how late they are with 2024+…. Almost as absurd as them not having Moved EVERY NAS to 2.5 GbE baseline (and 10 GBe on 8 bay units ). Once again , we love your videos. - Eric ZORK Alan & Sweetie [ 🤣Professional🤣Poets & Bed 🛏️ & Beer🍺 Vloggers ]
There are 2 things I really admire here: 1- you "waste" your valuable time on videos that bring you no $ (ok, they might bring you new clients though) 2- your shirts, directly from Bahamas ;-) cheers
Haha thanks! So I will say: consulting was never really something I planned on doing. I actually was just making videos for fun, and companies started reaching out. One thing lead to another and now we are doing this full time! 100% of our clients are from the channel / referrals. So it is the lifeblood of the company
