Difference is that he's trying to come up with something good for himself
I think that stems from a lack of self reflection. always spending time judging and drawing similarities between someone and a given moment. its easy. but generally, you dont observe yourself in a given moment and draw connections. and when you do its usually subconscious and happens when your external actions match the actions of another meme. like, if you were to kick someone off into a pit "this is Sparta~" will come to mind and then you have the name association with the action. it doesn't come up if the connections dont line up with a similarity. "I have the POWER!" okay Heman "oh no, I forgot the important McGuffin" you're killing me Smalls, your killing me.
I sort of understand, I think the nicknames were mostly references to other things. For me, I'm better at making connections than coming up with things, it must've been that same for him.
Just imagine when Howard Stark realizes that his son is looking more like Howard Potts everyday

And I think maybe it's "Jolly Green," not "Jelly Green," a reference to the Jolly Green Giant logo. Although Jelly Green's not bad either. Kind of makes me think of green Jell-O.
