Rapid as Wildfires is an OST from the Chinese video game Genshin Impact (原神) by the composer Yu Peng Chen. In this iteration, the original live orchestra performance has been remixed into a traditional Chinese instrumental piece performed by 小胡仙兒. Thanks to both of these masters for a beautiful piece!

Ahhh yes and here we see the strange and all too common Genshin Impact player. Now these creatures are very invasive and very territorial which is a very dangerous combination. But these seem to be in their natural habitat, anything remotely related to Genshin Impact, which is good for now but they could go on to infect other habitats and environments if not gone unnoticed. This is why we will off camera purge this area of this infection. Now you might be wondering why we recommend destroying these creatures upon sight or contacting someone who can. Well they don’t actually contribute anything useful or worthwhile to any environment or habitat they infest but instead actually harm the environment and make it unsuitable for the beautiful and/or interesting specimens that already lived there. Now let us listen to their gibberish for a second. My oh my just listen to that nonsense. We have translated and deciphered their language and dialects but even with that knowledge they provide no other purpose then just noise to be heard and made. Truly weird and off putting creatures…but in some ways they are beautiful creatures…for one example they somehow manage to be a massive part of the global ecosystem of this world but contribute no meaningful contribution to it. Fascinating…
Now I didn’t intend that to turn into anything rude or mean but at one point I started over and put the whole parasite spin on it and it was too much fun to write lol. I actually enjoyed Genshin impact for a bit (kinda got boring after a while) so please don’t take it to heart but as what it is, just a joke.

This is what it sounds like without the Western orchestra influence. Yu-Peng will go down as one of my favourite composers of all time, his work with Genshin has been phenomenal beyond words.
It wasn't technically a Western orchestra since the instrumentation included traditional instruments. Also along this train of thought, the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra recorded the original - so it is technically influenced by Chinese through and through. The only exception would be the Western instruments that format the rest of the orchestra, other than that, everything else is Chinese influenced.

Rapid As Wildfires, originally composed by Yu-Peng Chen mixes two orchestra styles: Eastern Asia and Western Orchestra - this isn't me fabricating facts or my opinion, this is exactly what Zhiyi said himself on a documentary talking about composing for Genshin Impact. The orchestra is originally Chinese as one can hear from instruments, but the rest of the orchestration: horns, 1st and 2nd strings, their heavy emphasis makes it a hybrid. "Influenced by" doesn't mean "originally made from", it means "to have an effect on". Without those aforementioned instruments, it sounds only from Eastern Asia.
@@Xgil2Play I'm sorry if you perceived my comment as accusing you of misinformation/fabrication. I too, saw that video with Maestro Chen and thought it was an insightful "interview" (if you will). I should have clarified in my previous comment that I was speaking of the composition itself, not the instrumentation. Despite the fact that I mentioned "Western orchestra" and formatting of instrumentation, I meant to bring light to the originality of the traditional Chinese compositional idioms that can be heard throughout both the original recording, and this wonderful arrangement.

I imagine it was originally composed as one and later changed to add more dynamic to the composition, or maybe he already had it in mind because the other 2 themes follow the same dynamic. A big example is Rage Beneath the Mountains. A Chinese ensemble composed into Symphonic Metal. Easily one of the best themes in the game.

There's one thing that I've been trying to understand, while some character PVs have their own unique themes, the majority of them are varied instrumental arrangements, and some even transposed iterations of "Photon of Fluctuation". As to whether or not it was to draw some commonality between the characters and the first combat experience every Genshin player experiences, I'm not sure. Do you have any interpretation on this?
The original was a fusion of western and eastern. But this is pure eastern Chinese music. The melody of the Erhu binds everything together. 🏮🏮🏮

To go one step further: In Genshin Impact, there's a particular (and somewhat weak) grass enemy that likes to sneak on the player when they are close enough. Still, being an enemy, it triggers the combat music, but still doesn't come out until you bother to search for it. Sometimes it's easy enough to spot it, sometimes it blends hilariously well with the environment.

I used to be completely addicted to this song, it was a masterpiece for me. My favorite song back then, when I realized it was from Genshin Impact, I decided to download this game, in my mind, a game with such masterpiece soundtrack would be a masterpiece as well. Now, two years later, I cannot see myself without playing this game. It helped me a lot through very though moments and it's my favorite and only one game. I love it.

Yep. It's a battle theme. :) There are even more badass battle themes. Search for Inazuma battle themes in Genshin. Listen to LA signora battle theme. And Azdaha battle theme. It goes intense and crazy.
