Come along on the journey as I restore a severely damaged modern Seiko Diver. ASMR, no talking.
This is a Seiko SNZH55K1 powered by the 7S36 movement (case number 7S36-04N0).
The watch isn't running. The balance is ok but the movement is seized. Some parts are missing, others incorrect.
The movement is cleaned and inspected, then re-assembled and oiled.
Case and bracelet get a full restoration and missing parts are replaced.

Lovely. Absolutely stunning restoration.
Glad you enjoyed it!
i have not paid any attention to seiko just collected rolex , tudor, omega. but i have been watching some seiko vids you folks are building some of the best built and looking watches out there. some of these builds are looking better then rolex your detail is second to none
Thank you! Glad you appreciate the effort! Rolex, Tudor, Omega are great, check out Grand Seiko models as well if you haven't already
Nice job, and some of the best photography and editing of any of these watch restorations on here. I haven’t subscribed as I see that it’s four months since you posted this.
Thank you so much for your kind words and encouragement! I truly appreciate your feedback on the photography and editing. I'm currently working on the next two videos, with the first one expected to be released this month. I hope you'll watch them when they're out and reconsider subscribing. Your support means a lot to me. My goal is to eventually release about one video a month but some parts of the process need to be streamlined to reach that.
loved the silence i like to hearnthe parts clonk into the right places and the screws landing in the pots all very relaxing
Thanks, I'm really glad to hear you enjoyed it!
Beautiful watch. Makes me want one now.
I TRULY ENJOY THIS VIDEOS...PURE ART.
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Excellent craftsmanship.
Looks beautiful
Thank you!
Really nice job Congratulations to your first video. I love that you don't talk. Lot of people like to talk. Explain everything. Your video was great. Next time Put a classical music on the background 😊
Thank you! I really like your idea of putting classical music on the background! But I think many viewers want to hear the sounds of the tools and watch parts so my following videos will probably have mostly that.
I agree with you. Make a mix. Anyway Good work
Really amazing effort for a first video. I can tell your channel will only get better as time goes on. Thanks for the upload.
Thank you so much for the kind words! Your encouragement means a lot, and I'm excited to keep improving. Thanks for taking the time to watch and share your thoughts!

Great job 👏👏👏 subscribed!
Thank you I appreciate it! 👍
You are a master! 👍👍👍
Thank you! 😊 I try to do my best
Restoration probably cost more than the watch itself.
It did. This was more of an experiment to see what could be done to this poor Seiko. I have some coming up that make more financial sense.
Is that even the point
Very nice..
Thank you!
Parabéns pelo seu trabalho que Deus abençoe todos vcs com muita saúde
Obrigado pelo seu apoio! Ficamos muito gratos pelos seus votos calorosos. Desejamos a você muita saúde e bênçãos também!
Welcome to KZhead! Beautiful work, looks better than new. It must be a passion of yours and you have all the right tools so you must be a professional? But is this watch restoration cost effective?
Thank you for the warm welcome! I'm not a professional, just a passionate hobbyist who enjoys bringing watches back to life. You raised a great point about the cost-effectiveness! This particular restoration wasn't financially wise, as the parts alone nearly equaled the price of a well-maintained piece. It was more of an experiment to see what could be done with a watch in such a bad condition. However, I have some upcoming projects like an Omega Seamaster Professional with rusty movement and a completely destroyed Tudor Oysterthin that make more financial sense. I appreciate your thoughtful question and wish you the best with your vintage car projects!
Perfect answer, passion in something you enjoy has it merits. I have become re-interested in mechanical watches recently and have a few vintage as well as new. Best to you!@@ChronoWorkRestorations
You're absolutely right. Mechanical watches are true marvels of engineering, aren't they! Care to share which timepieces you own? All the best to you too and I'll catch you on the next one!
Just found your channel, subscribed and loved your work, keep the good videos coming :)
Thank you so much, I will! :)
@@ChronoWorkRestorations If i may ask, is this watch part of your personal collection, or is it for sale ?
I think I'm going to hold onto this watch for sentimental value because it was my first KZhead video. :) But I do have some projects coming up that I could potentially sell.
@@ChronoWorkRestorations Thought so, thank you :)
Restoration video with no speaking? Let's go
Gorgeous camera work and great restoration. Lovely job. Looking forward to the next one.Can I ask what camera you are using?
Thank you! I'm glad to hear you liked it. Absolutely, I use Panasonic Lumix S5 camera with vintage Canon FD lenses, mostly 100mm f4 macro lens with or without a FD 50 extension tube.
Very good job, but the balance Is Seiko 7002, but the kepp good time
Thank you for the insight! I got another viewer saying the same about the balance. Didn't realize it while working on the watch but I was curious about the different shock springs.
More videos please :)
Absolutely, I'm working on the next one :)
Glad I found this channel. Great video. Couple of suggestions: I still have no idea what ASMR means, but rather than subtitles, I'd prefer you talked a bit over including history of watches. I don't get the idea behind watching silent videos. We aren't in 1920s anymore. I see that several parts were replaced and not directly mentioned - maybe it's worth somehow highlighting all the new parts. I personally don't mind new parts on old watch - for me the end result is more important, but some may want to see more original parts as possible to stay on the watch.
Thank you for watching and your kind words! Your suggestions are appreciated. While many enjoy the pure sounds of the parts and tools, I hear you on the value of talking. I might consider adding a bit of intro voiceover in some future videos. The idea of highlighting all the new parts is really nice - it's hard to discern from the video otherwise. Only what was beyond repair, missing, or incorrect was replaced. I'll definitely keep these thoughts in mind for future content. Thanks again for your feedback!
PLS MORE OF THAT :DDD
I'm working on the next one :)
@@ChronoWorkRestorations Great :]]]
Awesome
Thanks! I'm glad you liked it!
Did you remember to misalign the bezel insert, to keep the original design?
Dang, I forgot that one!
Much better than Seiko factories-the ones in Japan and defiantly better than the chinese.ones.
Thank you! I try to do my best, glad you liked my work!
Hola, muy buen video. Adonde compras las partes originales de Seiko? Gracias
Hola, muchas gracias! Para este Seiko compré las partes de Cousins UK y Watch Plaza.
Bravo!!!!!!!!@
Great video, thanks! I have a very similar Seiko 5 Sports. What set of hands did you install? I want the same ones. Thanks!
Thanks for watching! I'm glad you liked the video! The part numbers for the hands I used are 3AX130FMAE1, 2FH130FABES and 1FH090FCBES.
Пиздець як круто!!) Молодець!!!)) Дякую за класне відео!)
More videos please 🎉
Absolutely, I'm working on the next one.
❤
The balance assembly is for cal. 7009
Wow, thanks for the insight! I was curious about the different shock springs on the top and bottom. I thought I'd only seen the two prong type on 7S36's and that explains why. Do you happen to know if the spring is the only distinction in these balance assemblies?

Bravo!! Good job… but please change the shooting angle…
Thank you! That's a great suggestion, I will change the angle more on the next one.
Im a fan. So do you sell any of your restored watches? I would be interested.
Thank you! I don't currently have any but there are some projects coming up that I could potentially sell.
@@ChronoWorkRestorations Thank you. If you let me know what you have coming I would-be interested. I like to wear tank style watches as well as diving watches. Have a large wrist and big hands so a bigger face watch always fits better. Outdoor more rugged styles in stainless or leather bands. But the large older Seikos and Omega always of interest that have thicker and or unusually shaped housings. 5he Stingrays and such something I like to wear. But any of the larger face Tissot like the Bond version and such also interesting to me to wear. Thanks anytime reach out with something that is to be restored and you might want to sell. Thanks

it's good job. But tooooo dusty.
Thanks! You're right, the dust is an issue I have to take care of in the future.
😢 το χάλασες για να το ξαναφτιάξεις
A Gzillion times better
I'm glad you liked it!
$400 worth of work on a $130 watch. Looks good though!
Very good point! This project made no financial sense. It was more of an experiment to see what could be done to a watch in a condition like this, while improving my skills with various restoration techniques. Thanks for watching and I'm glad you liked the end result!
if it has sentimental value, then money is not an issue. im sure this watch has a story
nah mate you did it yourself for clout
100 meters is not a diver watch
Thanks for pointing that out! You're right, it's not a proper diver watch, more like diver-style.
@@ChronoWorkRestorations its nice watch my friend but 10 bar is not enough for deep dive if it was screw down crown this is another story
