  • He did an excellent job. They have great talent at the pro level and a full stable of excellent prospects for use or trade. We're a year or two away of actually going deep into the playoffs, just keep plugging along.

  • Good show Amy. This trade deadline went exactly the way I projected it to go . Grade wise I m probably where your at however drafting and off season moves I m have him lower in those areas. However I ll have a better stance once this draft and off season roll by. It ll be the halway point of the rebuild and truthfully he s got a lot of improvement to make to leave me content . I love his unloading. I don’t like his trades at draft all that much. Dach was only good one and he maybe injury prone . He lost on the Newhook deal . He way over paid for a good third liner. And he lost on the Lechonen trade. He needs to stay clear of Salic. He licks his chops when he see s Hugh’s . And so far in drafting only success for sure is Slav. Other than that I m worried he’s going with too small of forwards. And I m still not sold on why we drafted Reinbacker when we really needed offensive upgrades of talent and size . But I ll leave the door open this summer after draft and off season where’s its mid rebuild we ll know if it’s a success or a fail. He’s been good at third party trading taking on contracts. But his critical trades and drafting leave a lot to be desired. And I hope he s not getting into an American thing with players he s bringing in .

  • Teams can trade after the deadline, those traded players just can't play in the playoffs. The 3 goalie situation had to change, maybe he waited until the last hour hoping for a deal that didn't retain salary but didn't happen. Hughes felt keeping Savard is beneficial for the young defense for his example, experience, presence etc to "rub off" on them, help development still. Any other deals were apparently either not what they were looking for or had too high of a price. Players he would of liked to have moved probably didn't fit other teams cap space, were bad contracts or just required salary retention. MSL wants to win, Hughes knows this is probably the last season for a top ten pick and isn't quite ready to make the team better until draft and summer. He'll likely do something at the draft like the Newhook/Dach deals but hopefully for a true top 6 (just meaning a bit more established than Dach was). Those are my guesses, we'll see what he does then. Allen having been underplayed/rusty comes with a certain amount of risk for the Devils, I didn't expect any more that what Hughes got and found the "condition" a bit comical. I would of liked to seen more done but wasn't possible in a tight market. Sometimes you have to take a bit of a loss to get a needed deal done.

  • We're a year or two away from making the playoffs let alone going deep, we still badly need Savard and Matheson.

  • Allen has no value. It was his worst season by far. Allen was too expensive, and the crap MB signed for too much handicapped the team. This isn't PlayStation. Why would other teams take the contracts we don't want. Fans tend to overvalue players they have because they frankly have no idea of comparables that other teams have. Since no one here knows what was tried and refused. and grading is pure fancy.
