How The HMS Ocean Navigates Life Through Hostile Waters | Warship | Spark

The HMS Ocean; Britain's biggest warship and the flagship of The Royal Navy, as she deploys on a sensitive seven-month journey to the Middle East.
She's a floating village with her own hospital, shop, police force, church, bank, laundry, gym and even pubs. However, this village is an amphibious assault weapon - designed to sail across the world and, when necessary, bring violence to the enemy. Its population of military personnel is, surprisingly, mostly not gung-ho, but a funny and often thoughtful set of people living in and operating a highly complex war-making machine. And they love their ship.

Told us that on abandoning ship and getting settled into a lifeboat. Make sure that you take a leak. If not, it can lead to serious problems later on. In his case, this was an automatic reaction.

You cannot say the same about US Americans who take everything for granted, therefore are one of the most uncomunicated people on Earth. You always expect everybody to speak your language like is some kind of divine right. Like somehow you are entitled to that privilege. Thus, you making the least effort to learn other peoples languages. What? You think the rest of the world needs to speak English just because of you? Really? What is so special about you guys? Don't flatter yourselves. People around the globe speaks english because is a necessity; for bussiness, work, academic, cultural, or educational purposes, not because you have something special to offer. You guys are really ignorants because this same reason. You expect while they act. They are the smartest. They made the effort to learn a second or third language just to be able to get in contact with the rest of the world. What else are you doing in the middle of Wisconsin to try get in contact with the rest of humanity? Are you staying still, not doing anything? Always expecting them to speak your language? Thinking the world circles around you? That you are the best thing since the invention of wooden matches? 🙄

    • @@pixsilvb9638 People learn English for a variety of reasons. The main ones being that it's the main international language and it's easier than learning Chinese. English speaking people are not lazy in learning other languages. It is more difficult for them because almost everyone they meet uses them to practise their English.

Due to decisions made during her build to save pennies where they decided to use end of line parts for her systems she was very costly to maintain. Her main water main was seriously corroded and her electrics were out of date. She is in better material state than the Sao Paulo (ex Foch) and allows Brazil to keep a toe dipped in the Aircraft carrier game, long term Brazil wants to build an indigenous carrier but they will need international partners to do that. The UK selling Brazil HMS Ocean puts us high up the list of potential partner nations for that project which is a good outcome for UK industry. Finally HMS Ocean was end of her projected 20 year life and her crew was needed to help stand up HMS Prince of Wales.

  • Thank you Spark, for changing the title of the video, so it actually is true! I know many people including me were rude, please forgive me that. I'm sorry to the @Spark Team! An little advice: it doesnt look good if the title says "Brasilian Flagship" and tge description says "Royal Navy Flagship" :) you maybe consider correcting that, so there are no missunderstandings. Maybe write something like "the ex RN Flagship, which was sold to Brazil and now serves as the Flagship of the Brazilian Navy ..." Have a great day!
