  • I suddenly remember there was a Japanese drama where the main characters use the same brand of planner/organizer/notebook for years and when the book has slightly different layout he/she complained to the manufacturer.. I forgot what the drama title or who the actor was.. What I meant, that's how serious Japanese designed a planner...

  • Just as I thought! The jibun techo seems to cater to more structured people given the finer hourly layout. In that case, hobonichi would be a better choice for us procrastinators :'D Though the prompts on the jibun's monthly starts are cool!

  • This year, I used the JT Days B6 Slim and Hobonichi Day Free A6. I like to doodle alongside my lists and I do it in both planners. I ignore all time time lines. The number of lists in the JT Days is awesome. I love the tracking calendar combo. My JT Days lays flat just like my day free. Both works well with fountain pen. The monthly summary in the JT Days is a nice feature if it's something you would use. You can always ignore the headings and make up your own. If you have a hard time choosing then I think your preferred size may need to be the deciding factor.

  • I started using the Hobonichi English planner for daily journaling, and then I started using the Jibun Techo diary because I wanted to track how I spent my time, given that I always feel unsatisfied about not having time to do this or that. Well, I can't say it's improved my time management habits all that much, but at least now I know exactly how I am wasting it! Blocking out 4 hours for playing Animal Crossing in the evening is certainly a thing. I also do mini journaling in the bottom of the Jibun Techo and refer to it when I need to catch up with my daily journal in the Hobonichi. This year I'm using the Jibun Techo DAYS to have that time tracking and journaling on the same page. But this video makes me feel like jumping to use a Hobonichi Cousin for a planner that can do it all! Maybe next year...

And honestly, I’ve never seen a planner more up my alley. Subtle markings that can be ignored OR used depending on the day, Tomoe River Paper and a green cover with cats on it!! I’m going to use the Jan and Feb pages for memory keeping since I can’t use them for planning! Each two page spread will be a recap of a month!❤

  • I love Jibun Techo Days very much. I have started using it for 5 days. This is quite similar to bullet journal but I don’t need to setup myself. I can just write down all the tasks and ideas on the left side. Then I can organise my time to finish them and marked down when did I do them. Seeing the finished ✅ on the boxes makes me satisfied of my time management. I used to have Jibun Techo weekly. It had not enough space for me to write down all tasks everyday.

  • My questions were not answered, but I have my own issues with planners. One thing I want in a planner is not to run into structural compression of spaces. I do not like it when the entire weekend is compressed into a space the size of a single weekday space (this implies to me people think I should have no life or business on a weekend) or the insistence that the monthly calendar fit into five rows so that some months have days that take up half day spaces. It gets awkward when the amount of detail I am used to fitting into a space is abruptly halved. It also gives my mildly OCD/autistic mind visual claustrophobia.

    @rodsprague369@rodsprague3692 жыл бұрын
    • I'm not sure of the Jibun, but the Hobonichi has full daily pages for all days of the week. For the monthly layouts if there is a sixth row needed it is about half the size of a regular row, rather than sharing space with another day. But those last days of the month are also marked with a regular box in the next monthly layout if that helps?

  • I’m trying to put this as nicely as possible, but the way you guys are handling this Hobonichi release is frustrating. Continually teasing and hinting it will be in stock soon but refusing to tell anyone when that will be, so we all have to waste time constantly checking the website. I didn’t buy from the other shops even though multiple of them stocked everything weeks earlier already, just because “well we always buy from Jetpens” from some dumb sense of customer loyalty. Well, you taught us a lesson. Next year we’re just ordering from whichever shop stocks first, since there are now a handful of other stationery shops in the US that sell Hobonichi, stock early, and let the customers know days or weeks ahead the exact date the items go up in the shop.

  • I always wanted a Hobonichi. I find it really well thought and cute, but I'm a bullet journaler... It wouldn't really work for what I do :(

  • Wish that the covers without the books were available, I just got a Stalogy 365Days from the site that arrived today and didn’t realize it was paperback so it’ll need a cover for protection.

  • I wanna get it in A5 so I can repeat what I've done this year and continue to mix up my diary and class notebooks and hand over my "homework" to my lecturer so the poor man reads about my failing love life instead of the importance of being ethical in sociological research
