Rare WW1 german rusty bayonet restoration. This EB44 is the rarest of the German plain bladed S98/05 type Ersatz bayonets from WWI. This bayonet was found on the battlefield on the Eastern Front. The bayonet was very rusty.
I decided to preserve a part of history and restored the bayonet. I removed all the rust and preserved the old iron. I like to restore antiques and knives. I hope you liked my restoration.

I really enjoyed this video and the spectacular work you did. Hoping you have several more WWI & WWII artifacts to restore. Those historic items seem to be very popular.
I’ve got one that my dad had. It’s still in working order and it’s still sharp.
I love how you restore historic objects with a full respect and a beautiful result.
Thanks!
What a great job you did there. thanks for sharing.
I find watching your videos soothing and satisfying. But I'm curious what you do with your restored artifacts.
What a piece of history right there! Much respect and great craftsmanship 👍👏🙏
Love the close up of the rust detail relaxing to watch 🤙
The scraping off the top rust is the best part for me at least. 😊. I wish more restoration videos would indulge that scraping.
I happen tomorrow have your video pop up on my sites and I must say I throughly enjoy seeing your work. As one who loves antiques and both bought and sold it’s always interesting to see them restored to their original beauty!
Restorers are very glovey folk, aren’t they? Great vid.
I can’t imagine the time taken to dremel the rust out of all those pits. Beautiful work!
3 hours... Thank you!
@@ReXtorer hey, I like doing the same stuff as you do for restoring old knives and stuff like that I'm an amateur. Do you have any advice for an amateur to be better at this? I'm OK but I think learning from some thing like you who has more experience doing it if you could messaged me that would be great. Also, I need to know what products to get. Thanks.
@@ReXtorer It's not 3 hour it's 19 hour and 6 minute of working u r legand
Well Done! You preserved it well!
That was a Labor of Love. Amazing work!
WW 1. When bayonets were real bayonets. Very nice video.
Perfect...respected the action of time! This to me is restoration.
This is amazing! Your videos should definitely get more attention!
Am I the only one who finds this really satisfying
You did a fantastic job. BUT, have you thought about using JB Weld to fill in the pits after using the rust converter? I know that may not be what you want for some items but just a thought.
Nice job . This is a real restoration
Look up the word restoration 😅 He just knocked the rust off and put oil on it
Sand blasting is much better than all of this process
Love all the restoration
You relax me bro a little more and see me slepping 😴😴😴😴😴😌😌😌
Legends say the sword is still rusty to this day
The dogtag does not match up with the bayonet. Its a Pionier (Engineer/Sapper) dogtag, the Bayoned is Jäger/Infantry. The Pionier Bayonet had a saw back.
Well done My Friend, from, Bayamo, Cuba
Where do you get these items to restore them? I would love to get my hands on some of these items. Just awesome
I find them. Here I created a channel where I show the search process www.youtube.com/@ArtifactDigger
Interesting, thank you. One question if I may? The flange of the bayonet that fits on the rifle barrel seems to be missing part of the loop, I hope that is the right term for it? Is that gap in the loop how it was designed? Or did it just rust away? Thank you again.
@Gareth T Thank you very much for the information, and for getting back to me. Have a great day.
Waw what an amazing job how much for a fully restored piece like that?
Its not perfect but fine 👍
As usual fantastic job sir
Nice job.
Hello @ReXtorer love watching your videos I always try to keep an eye out for similar items. Can you tell me what is the bit that you use to grind out all the rust in the pits and where can I get the bit from please? Many thanks Mark
Hi! It is diamond engraving bits. a.co/d/aS8yU1a
Another great restoration!
This guy is a maniac if he opens up the aluminium foil of a new bottle with a precision knife 😎😀
Nice restoration! It is good to Use a lot of chemicals for restoring such an old weapon
All your videos are SUPER ASMR, AND AWSOME
Its so gooooooooodddddd
Good work brother
..good job..
Very very cool. I wonder if you could make the descriptive font a little more visible and bold. I missed them sometimes.
Hi. I will make it more visible
Really really liket the video
Bravo!!!
Would spray welding be a bad thing for these types of restorations? This ones an older setup you may be interested in minus the lathe
very rare, only millions made.
You are a professional
Amazing ❤
I am asking , where do you find these things ?! And how you can get them ?!
Cool 👍
Nice work and a lot of work, respect.
I have seen many gunsmiths boil pieces in water to convert the existing rust layer after the initial cleaning. What made you choose cold blue instead?
You sure your watching boiling in water the old technique includes severely burnt coffee grounds
Whats the button for?
WOW! 💪
The right sand blasting would take the dark spots out of without losing much steel.
Question, why you don’t (plug weld) then (grind smooth) to remove all these scars on the sword? Thank you.
how do you find the crunchiest rust ever? I really like your stuff - ima subbin.
I love crunchy rust😊
And really like your stuff
Super like!
the fact that this could have ran someone threw in wwi just like paul from aqotwf is just heartbreaking
obviously a bad comparison because this is a german bayonet but you get the idea
nice
Where do you get your pieces from? I would love to have a go
Most of the things are my personal finds
I own a number of WWI and WWII bayonets, I have never seen an all metal one. They have wooden handles and metal blades
I use to use diesel to soak best yet and after using guide a few times I strained it through a old t shirt and used in my car
In questo caso un “ottimo”lavoro.Complimenti
Why not start the rust removal process with the wire wheel? It seems to me that it would remove 90% of the rust immediately.
Looks tasty..
nice work!
Another beatiful restoration, Friend,👏👍 Friendship from Belgium 😉🇧🇪😉
wire brush before a mild sand blasting ?
Amaizing! I can’t imagine how can you make so many videos? One per week! What is your secret? Are you working around the clock?:)
Probably doing a few at a time. Rust removal takes time, and not all of it is hands on.
So in totk is what an octorock stomach looks like😂
I would have used a media blaster and acorn shells on this bayonet
I wonder, what'd happen if you were to leave something in the electrolysis tank for over three hours? Every video of yours I've seen has had it there for three hours, no more, no less.
Nothing will happen. The current decreases, the reaction is not so active. The time of electrolysis depends on the size of the object.
U would the handle be rusted like who makes knives with mettle grips
Just gotta fill all the pitts then sand/polish it up.
Everybody else: cool restoration! Me: would i get like, super-infection if i got stabbed by that thing before the restoration
Anyone got any info on the soldier listed? 17:41 Wilhelm Reihert, I believe is the name.
I love these restoration videos but we never get the back story on the knife. How did you get it? Where was it found? Did you see it at some garage sale? Did someone send it to you?
Author found it in ukrainian forest on german positions. Most of things you can see on his second channel
I found this bayonet on a battlefield on the Eastern Front. I wrote it in the description of the video)
@@ReXtorer then you should take 30 seconds of film and film that. Show us the origin and how you came about it. I think that would add more depth. Thx
What would the rifle look like that this bayonet fit to?
Buy a sandblaster or a laser cleaner... please.
Looks more like a sword to me.
Good job mister well done
That one looked like it was buried in concrete or something!
I would love to see how well the baking soda and water combo would work on something like this…
Yet another simply amazing job! I have a few ww2 german bayonets, some with baklite handles, a few very early ones with wooden handles, and a silver plated SS kar bayonet thats had some professional slogons/mottos engraved on it. Im assuming by the original SS owner. All i know is the guy was in the SS Adolf Hitler unit. Have his ration cards, and ss personnel book as well
That knife is older than the Eiffel tower
Wooooow 😮😮😮😮
4:28 he making some stew
what is the use of spring on saber🤔🤔🤔
Anyone have any idea why it was covered in sand and cement?
Soldier Probably Left It Near Cement In Ww1
