Rare WW1 German Bayonet Restoration. Rusty Knife Restoration

Rare WW1 german rusty bayonet restoration. This EB44 is the rarest of the German plain bladed S98/05 type Ersatz bayonets from WWI. This bayonet was found on the battlefield on the Eastern Front. The bayonet was very rusty.
I decided to preserve a part of history and restored the bayonet. I removed all the rust and preserved the old iron. I like to restore antiques and knives. I hope you liked my restoration.

  • I really enjoyed this video and the spectacular work you did. Hoping you have several more WWI & WWII artifacts to restore. Those historic items seem to be very popular.

I'm OK but I think learning from some thing like you who has more experience doing it if you could messaged me that would be great. Also, I need to know what products to get. Thanks.

  • Interesting, thank you. One question if I may? The flange of the bayonet that fits on the rifle barrel seems to be missing part of the loop, I hope that is the right term for it? Is that gap in the loop how it was designed? Or did it just rust away? Thank you again.
