    • I paid $800 when I bought it from a local guy (original price from website was $945) and then I added the fox shocks that - $400 the set of 4. The only reason I got the RC lift kit was because of the price. It is an "ok" system for beginners.

I prefer to buy 93-95 Cherokees as I find them to be owned by original owners a lot more and I’ve found them to be better maintained. Last one I bought for a grand was in perfect shape 1 owner.

  • The ideas here are great, as a Jeep owner for the last 23 years, I can appreciate the custom work that can be done to XJ, WK, and ZJ Jeeps which are very cheap to buy in the UK and maintain if you pick the right ones that have not been abused too much. I run a WK 5.7 HEMI on LPG which gives me the same running costs as a small car.

It still would of been nice to see an itemized list with the cost. Also, where did you get the knowledge to do all the work you did to the Jeep. Was it from a formal tech school, working on other vehicles with your friends, or watching a lot of KZhead videos? Also did you get help from your fellow off-roaders?

    • XJ's became highly popular and their prices seem to have gone up. I would look at ZJ and WJ, they can be cheap and capable. Still kinda affordable but you might have to make payments = look at a WK. The WK has ifs (no live axle up front), but some have e-lockers and hemi. Or look at the "kinda xj" 2008-12 KK Liberty. Another Jeep that I think gets overlooked often is the 2006-10 XK Commander. This one is built on the same platform as the WK. I want an XJ, but I've been considering these others. I built mom a shweet WJ Freedom Edition.... I might just keep that one and get her something else.

    @ChatanikaRoosting@ChatanikaRoosting4 жыл бұрын
    • Thanks man! I went with Ironman4x4 for the steering brace with sector shaft and Blue Top steering box. I do have to add some bump stops (last time I went off-road I cut the front tires by rubbing against the fender/front bumper). I'll tackle the frame stiffeners when I do the axle swap.

      @VehicleTribe@VehicleTribe4 жыл бұрын
    • @@VehicleTribe Awesome, thanks. I'll look into that steering brace. I'm excited for your 44 swap: I have a rear 44 in mine with a Detroit locker and it's been great for my purposes. The JCR mid stiffeners (pricey to have a shop weld) have quieted the unibody creaking significantly.

    • My mom's got a 2004 Freedom Edition WJ. She loves it. It's on Iron Rock adjustable short arms sitting at stock height right now. She's recovering from a knee replacemt. Once she's got that knee healed she'll be lifting it a bit. I think she'll probably stay around 2-3" rise to keep ride and caster/pinion angles in a happy range.

  • Hey man. Ive watched this video over and over again like 5-7 times. Im in love with this thing. Im 14 with no job and looking for one. Ive currently found one for $1000 with a 4” lift kit, 33s on it, and more. But the only thing wrong with it is that there is no title. I talked to my dad about it, he says he likes it but the title part he does not. It is the best deal i have found for a jeep cherokee for the condition its in. Im trying to talk my dad into it but I dont know how to say it. I just want one for my property. How would/should i tell him to get it?

    • If there is no title you can’t register it. Only way is to illegally change the vin and title wash
