Elephant Nature Park - baby elephant Navann wants to play with us, but the mahouts don't let young elephants play with tourists as he might hurt them by charging into them. So the young elephants are guided to stay downhill from us so it's easier to push them back and give them a boundary.

I absolutely adore how all the baby Ellie's are fascinated with their own trunks, trying to figure out all the cool things it does. To see them wobble it around, try to throw the sand and dirt around and just showing it off, is the cutest!

Thanks for this video! It's been many years, hope he is still doing great and happy. I know this is not easy, but i still humbly wish that one day, elephants, especially in Asia do not need to learn to please humans. Though this might have been out of good will, but there are just always some degree of exploitation that prevents animals to just be animals.
ENP are not entertaining humans - the Elephant moms, grannies & nannies & babies have ALL been rescued from captivity & some with their newborns born in captivity ARE rescued from animal mistreatment & treated like dirty tatty rags - these sanctuaries are as close to wildlife nature as possible - no horse riding, force labor, street begging, circus exploitation, force breeding, force breeding, crush, street entertainment, festivals with loud hypnotic packed stadium concerts where the Elephants are "high", swollen ankles from being chained up, broken and soiled👣souls of their feets" often caused by standing & walking & trekking hot dried souls in HOT and COLD humidities, severe bull hooks punishments, manipulation of cr@fty street tricks, taxi-trekking-riding, 24hour online live recordings non-stop money making subs baiting gratification, "live force breeding AND live births AND live baby milking/nursing" all the while the Mother Elephants AND calf babies OFTEN in CHAINS, thirst AND hunger AND sleep DEPRIVATION, Elephants in separation in small "pens" whilst in chains limiting mobility movements over 18hour day; herd split of granny/nanny Elephants separated from pregnant daughters - WHY??? The grannies have to earn their "keep" to provide INCOME to feed the pregnant daughter & newborn - ALSO when newborn is aged 2 AND weaned off from the Mother Elephants separation between MOTHER and CALF begins as the 2 year old calf goes to "Elephant school ie Pajan (crush) AND Mother Elephant with Granny are working in "Riding Parks" for tourists WHILST 2yr old baby CALFs are "crushed" & forced into the above ***. The mistreatment, exploitation, isolation, captivity, kept in chains AND animal abuses ends once rescued by ENP as well as other animals rescue sanctuaries. ENP does no such "performance for human display" with the rescued cats dogs buffaloes cows elephants pigs etc etc etc

Actually, no, Dok Mai is not his nanny and she is not his sister either. She was his childhood playmate, the daughter of Dok Ngern. She's a couple of months younger than him.

Why does the mahout run after Navann and uses his ear to turn him around? Can't they go where they want and when they want? Won't his mother or aunt round him up when necessary? Cute video and I love Navann, but do wonder about that.
Navann was very big and very playful. He charged at me while running the day before and hit me in the hip with his forehead. For some people that would be an injury!
