  • the government have been negligent regarding the use of vitamin D; it is unforgivable

    • I hang out on a cancer precursor condition board (I have the condition) I asked how many people had their vitamin D level over a certain amount and 50% of them didn't even know their vitamin D status. Insane.

  • About 8 years ago I started taking vitamin D3 (30,000- 20,000) IU a day, along with diet changes to get rid of a skin complaint, parapsoriasis, across my body and arms (autoimmune issue) and to help reduce my arthritis. This regime worked for me - clear skin - walking without pain - could go back to playing the guitar. (Certainly the Sun and UV lamps cleared the skin previously and I assumed taking significant doses if Vit D3 would help the cause). For the past 6 years, during the winter, I take 5000 to 10,000 IU a day. My wife and son, working in the same office, would both fall for the latest respiratory virus, 3 times one winter (a few winters ago), but I was never affected. This persuaded them both to start taking Vit D . . . This certainly cut their run of infections. On the issue of reduced Summer CV19 deaths last year: It is more than likely that Sun-invoked increased Vit D levels in the population would have helped reduce deaths . . . however, at the same time, the increased UV would likely have reduced the prevalence of the virus particles which are susceptible to UV radiation.

    • If I'm reading right you took 20,000-30,000/day for 2 years? What made you go down to 5,000-10,000/day in the last 6 years?

  • Amen and Amen to this wonderful presentation!! Confirming what I have come to believe and have heard from some great 'informed" presenters in this "universe of health motivated" focused youtube broadcasters. Keep on keeping on ... I am 73, a woman, and, with my husband, take 3 - 5K of Vit. D3 each day for the past year ... no sickness in all this time ... As well, doing without grains, sugars, seed oils, to boost the immune system even more.

  • A lot more studies need to be done on vitamin D supplementation to determiine it's efffect on health. If only the money spent on Statin studies were spent on vitamin D studies.

  • I have been a massive proponent of Vitamin D since 2009. Prior to that I had colds (3 or 4) every year. Then I found out I was deficient with 12 ng per ml. I got my Vitamin D up to 44 and I have had 2 colds in 10 years. I have followed every science article about Vitamin D since 2009 and to me, when a study is properly done... it shows amazing benefits for cancer and heart disease. I used to walk around saying I was immune to the flue because post 2009 I never got the flu, but now I can say the same about covid --I absolutely haven't been careful and yet, no covid. I live in a populated city. People don't seem to understand that Vitamin D is a nutrient that we are supposed to have...but don't get the proper amounts of.. now that we can measure it... we should be optimizing it.. it could literally mean increased life expectancy.

    • I believe you. I took Vitamin D3 and cod liver oil regularly after recovering from pneumonia 12 years ago. My husband didn't. He died of cancer last year. This past year I told my good friends about Vitamin D3, because I'm still kinda young and I want to keep my friends around.

  • I have just given this a video a thumbs up 👍 KZhead deactivated this within 20 seconds. I repeated the process four times in a row and each time, within about 20 seconds of activating the the thumbs up 👍 KZhead deactivated it returning the number to 20. Censorship is getting more dynamic and blatant it seems.

  • Thank you Dr Grimes. Any chance you could get a meta analysis done on the positive effects of adequate Vitamin D levels in reducing Covid 19 hospitalisation and deaths?

  • If only it were this easy. It simply doesn't work the same for everyone. See Prof Tim Spector. If more sun = lower infections why did we have two major omicron waves over summer 2022? I've been taking D3 for years and will continue to take it; nevertheless, with 74 ng/ml I suffered a nasty case of omicron in August 2022, from which it took me 3 weeks to recover.

  • I recently read a article, from the CDC I believe, about a study that showed D3 is ineffective? Sorry, I don't have a link.

    @paulwieland79@paulwieland79 Жыл бұрын
    • CDC is in bed with big pharma. All they want is sell their vaccines and expensive medication. They have now also be proven to be spreading blatant lie, such as that vitamin D3 (actually a hormon needed for a multitude of chemical processes in the body) should be "ineffective". This holds perhaps true for the absurd low doses which are generally proclaimed necessary. Doses as low as 400IU/day just barely suffice to keep you out of the grave. But are not nearly enough even to maintain regular health, not to mention that your body & immune system needs a minimum of 4-5.000IU/day, but in case of illness or when "under attack" by viruses, bacteria or other pathogens, the body & immune system need so much more (easily 20.000 or 25.000IU/day). Overdosing practically never happens because Big pharma is not interested to draw people's attention to vitamin D3 as it is produced so cheaply that its sales would not bring in any worthwhile profit. Sad but this seems to be their "background motivation" for NOT encouraging taking vitamin D3. I can highly recommend you to check out the channel of Dr. John Campbell where he has posted a LOT of videos on Vitamin D, even several phantastic interviews with Dr. David Grimes. Their exchanges on this topic are fascinating & highly informative (of course). I can recommend this video: "The second pandemic" on Dr John Campbell's YT channel. It's an excellent interview.

  • So much "so i believe" belongs here dude... I agree with the presentation, but you need to back your facts up.

    @ellenorbjornsdottir1166@ellenorbjornsdottir11662 жыл бұрын
    • Agree. A lot of data here providing correlations but not proving causation. I take Vitamin D3 daily and support the hypothesis that it's a low-risk, low-harm supplement to try for. However, have seen several studies on VitD / Covid over the past year which provide a stronger case than that presented here. Not the strongest colection or summation of the data out there.
