In this episode of HUNTR Podcast, we bring on Dan Gates, chair of the Colorado Wildlife Council to talk about the fight against anti-hunters and what's going on in Colorado. We often talk a lot about making changes to wildlife and hunting, whether that be baiting for deer, antler restrictions, weapons you can use in season, etc. The purpose behind it, is to create a better hunting experience for everyone. In Colorado, Dan explains how difficult it can be to change rules while battling the anti-hunters. There are some serious issues at risk with the overpopulation of wolves. Not only is it creating a poor hunting experience for people, but it is creating a lot of controversy with your non hunters too. Dan explains all of that with us today.

You guys bring really good conversations to the table. I appreciate it. Use your platform for good fellas. Keep it up guys. God bless.
We will keep pushing
Just enjoy listening to like minded people. Great Stuff guys!
Thanks dude
I respect you guys a lot for having a bunch of different viewpoints on, and not just making it a big echo chamber. Blurb: its a pretty well accepted rumor in Wisconsin that insurance companies lobby HARD to lower whitetail populations.
Same in Illinois...
@@daveyboy8907 it turns out they have a vested interest, they spend billions of dollars on deer damage and injuries. The population dropped sharply here in the late 2000s
These guys are Highly educated hunters and individuals that dig into the reality of hunting and all of its adversities we have facing toward us to the present and future time . I definitely highly recommend this channel ! From a good ol boy From South Texas , we are now facing some definite changes in our world from many peeps coming into our state from many other states due to the shit economics the others are facing
We appreciate the support man!
We all need to jump into this fight! Great info
Awesome podcast, wow that was super in depth. State hiring practices are not about getting the best person it’s about holding up an agenda that absolutely comes from leftist and is as mainstream as it can get and is fully supported by the dnc. I suppose that’s the mindset you have when you work in the public sector, no accountability and there never going to fail because of the non stop flow of tax dollars to whatever cause they want it to go to. Great pod boys! IBAF coming out today???
Pretty wild isn’t it. Not this week, we will plan another soon
Hunters need to stick together and don't let them turn us against each other. I've watched them do it to us in commercial fishing and its very effective getting us to fight against our fellow fisherman and separate us into groups
I'll never support able bodied men using crossbows NEVER
@@codyyamnitzyou’re part of the problem then. We ALL have to stand together, or we’re going to lose ALL of it. Do you not understand this?
@@progradepainting3755 that's not gonna happen. And if it does cool i own a good bit of ground so it won't effect me
@@codyyamnitz its already happening right now. I guess you haven’t been paying attention. Have fun dying on the crossbow hill I guess.
@@progradepainting3755 it's not. You just cave into the media bullshit
I’ve been skeptical of this podcast, but I’m happy you guys are finally exploring this issue, because we really do have to stand together on this.
Every once in a while we doing something good lol
I don’t usually comment, but your point about good movies being difficult to find struck true with me. There are very few movies that are made for you as the targeted audience, which makes it difficult to find what you’re looking for. I’ll relate this back to hunting as well- when you find an animal that you seek to harvest and do harvest. The feeling is euphoric, you tell your family, friends, acquaintances, and coworkers about the experience and once that feeling subsides, you’re on the search for that feeling again. But what happens when there are no animals that you want to chase, none that get your heart pumping or limbs shaking when that animal walks by… your passion grows stagnant, or you start to wander further, hike deeper into tracts of land that you have access to, or create your own habitat… it’s the same with movies you accept what is produced, you start to branch out into more niche areas, or make it yourself. - Great content guys always like the videos and guests you bring on
That's some great perspective dude. Hope it doesn't come to that.
Watching from sweden öland👌
Mr. Dan are you related to Uncle Ted!! Could you repeat the part about the stuff where you were talking about the things🍻
Colorado is a good example. Hunters are not even going to be able to hunt there if they're not careful. Its insane. There are anti hunters on their CPW board.
A portion of the pittman/robertson act monies should go to the offensive coordination for the state it is purchssed in. It wouldn't(shouldn't )be difficult for the state's game agency to do public relations drive on what the hunters dollars have done for the wildlife in the state. Let the public see how much they benefit from having hunters in their communities.
I love that, we have to go on offense!
The point that the general public needs to be educated on, and many modern hunters for that matter, is that conservation, as we know it, EXISTS because hunting is integral to it. Hunters "own" conservation. Hunters fund it. Hunters practice it. Hunters care for it. Etc. Etc. Hunters need not be rude or condescending to others about it. Hunters simply need to be educated on the reality that "conservation" exists because Hunters willed it. Currently in Ohio, there is a joint house resolution that seeks to put a Hunters rights amendment on the November ballot. Hopefully we get that opportunity.
Bingo that is exactly right!
Washington's under attack in every which direction from our to our deer to our bear to our cougars. They've made our cougar season from 9 months to 3 months and the same with our bare
I just started watching pod #1! We're you two like 13?
Hahaha #1 is pretty rough. Hard to believe that was only 3 years ago
I think we need wolves in Pa!
Sounds like the problem is the first husband prolly thinking bout Peter all day can't make good decisions with that mind set
😂
Hahahaha.
......... Did he just say, "his husband"..???? Never heard that shit here in SD
lol no you don’t. You have Gov Noem so you’re in good shape lol
@@HUNTRPOD lol true.
The major problem with Colorado is the perfect scenario when a democratic society outnumbers the conservative community. Colorado should be a perfect example of what you have coming to you or what you don’t want coming to you. The answer is vote and stick together. This is why Texas does not fall for this shit . We outnumber and if we do not in certain areas we will prevail in other areas. God bless Texas because we do fight these agenda driven dumb asses and win
Yeah but watch out because alot of people are coming from Cali to live in Texas.
As hunters, we need to come together for one common goal, And that's to ensure the future of hunting. This is a great podcast and if you're a hunter, I suggest you share this with your fellow hunters.
Nah I'll continue to critique and criticize "fellow hunters" (lazy pieces of shit) that use crossbows
Thanks man!
@HUNTRPOD I share this podcast in all of my hunting groups on social media. Hopefully, the message resonates nationwide
Full shaft sherken while sky dumpen.. yeah a #3
Ill never accept able bodied men using crossbows into the bowhunter world. I own ground ill hunt no matter the rules. But i wont go so low to use a crossbow
So you don’t care what happens with hunting because you own some land, so screw the conservation, the public lands, the parks, the wildlife herds all of it, but somehow your moral fight is with the crossbow hunter? Absolute genius dude.🙄 I’m not into crossbows either, but you’re obviously not getting the point that there is a greater issue at play here.
@@progradepainting3755 yea none of that bullshit will happen. There will be civil war before that shit happens. Quit being a pussy
@@progradepainting3755 there's no greater issues at play. Nobody is going to take away huntin. We need less hunters anyway
@@codyyamnitz the stupidity is strong with you
@@codyyamnitz they literally spelled out a large quantity of bills and ballot initiatives aimed at ending hunting in this podcast. Sticking your head in the sand and saying “ I can’t see you, so you can’t see me” is ridiculous.
