In this episode of HUNTR Podcast, we bring on Dan Gates, chair of the Colorado Wildlife Council to talk about the fight against anti-hunters and what's going on in Colorado. We often talk a lot about making changes to wildlife and hunting, whether that be baiting for deer, antler restrictions, weapons you can use in season, etc. The purpose behind it, is to create a better hunting experience for everyone. In Colorado, Dan explains how difficult it can be to change rules while battling the anti-hunters. There are some serious issues at risk with the overpopulation of wolves. Not only is it creating a poor hunting experience for people, but it is creating a lot of controversy with your non hunters too. Dan explains all of that with us today.

  • Awesome podcast, wow that was super in depth. State hiring practices are not about getting the best person it’s about holding up an agenda that absolutely comes from leftist and is as mainstream as it can get and is fully supported by the dnc. I suppose that’s the mindset you have when you work in the public sector, no accountability and there never going to fail because of the non stop flow of tax dollars to whatever cause they want it to go to. Great pod boys! IBAF coming out today???

  • I don’t usually comment, but your point about good movies being difficult to find struck true with me. There are very few movies that are made for you as the targeted audience, which makes it difficult to find what you’re looking for. I’ll relate this back to hunting as well- when you find an animal that you seek to harvest and do harvest. The feeling is euphoric, you tell your family, friends, acquaintances, and coworkers about the experience and once that feeling subsides, you’re on the search for that feeling again. But what happens when there are no animals that you want to chase, none that get your heart pumping or limbs shaking when that animal walks by… your passion grows stagnant, or you start to wander further, hike deeper into tracts of land that you have access to, or create your own habitat… it’s the same with movies you accept what is produced, you start to branch out into more niche areas, or make it yourself. - Great content guys always like the videos and guests you bring on

  • A portion of the pittman/robertson act monies should go to the offensive coordination for the state it is purchssed in. It wouldn't(shouldn't )be difficult for the state's game agency to do public relations drive on what the hunters dollars have done for the wildlife in the state. Let the public see how much they benefit from having hunters in their communities.

  • The point that the general public needs to be educated on, and many modern hunters for that matter, is that conservation, as we know it, EXISTS because hunting is integral to it. Hunters "own" conservation. Hunters fund it. Hunters practice it. Hunters care for it. Etc. Etc. Hunters need not be rude or condescending to others about it. Hunters simply need to be educated on the reality that "conservation" exists because Hunters willed it. Currently in Ohio, there is a joint house resolution that seeks to put a Hunters rights amendment on the November ballot. Hopefully we get that opportunity.

  • The major problem with Colorado is the perfect scenario when a democratic society outnumbers the conservative community. Colorado should be a perfect example of what you have coming to you or what you don’t want coming to you. The answer is vote and stick together. This is why Texas does not fall for this shit . We outnumber and if we do not in certain areas we will prevail in other areas. God bless Texas because we do fight these agenda driven dumb asses and win
