Provoker is one of the best modern “post punk/darkwave” projects that stands out from the surge of hot topic darkwave bands coming out.
Literally bro
Nah, sorry dude. Twin tribes tops them
@@KM-ye3ijlove twin tribes but they don’t even come close to
@@KM-ye3ijProvoker has made their own path with their sound. I’ve seen twin tribes live a couple of times and they sounded cool, but nothing special. Almost just felt like your usual Friday night goth event. Have you heard of Forever Grey? They’re another project that really represents the genre better.
I think that a lot of bands wonder why they aren’t successful when they make the most boring music ever. Yes, there are a TON of great bands making this type of darkwave music out there that are just underrated but amazing, but a lot of these darkwave bands make copy and paste songs where they play some cold angular guitar riff, slap reverbed out vocals on it and call it a day, all to mimic some “traditional post punk sound” that literally never existed in the traditional post punk bands. I say all this because provoker is not one of these bands. Provoker makes original sounds with heavy synths and unique use of guitar and bass with amazing vocals all throughout their discography that isn’t afraid to incorporate other sounds and inspirations, and what comes out is one of the best darkwave bands ever. They are going places and will only continue to go places.
Incredible band. This is like, the only instance I could find of them all talking in an interview, and it's really nice to see.
I am happy to see Provoker in wimb. Been listening to them since their Dark Angel ep came out. Love everything this band puts out!
LEGENDS!! making some of the best music in the game
Never thought I would see the day where someone chooses G.I.S.M for their bag. WIMB never fails to surprise me!
The mk4 soundtrack is so hard, i grew up with that game too. Love provoker, cant wait to see them live again.
I remember seeing these guys in a now defunct venue in vancouver in 2018 that held like 50 people max. They definitely had something and were all super friendly chilling at the back of the venue while the more popular bands went on. Dope to see them blow up and kinda wild seeing them on wimb.
Seen provoker live 5 times, I love them so much
Skateboard legend Steve Cabellero played rhythm guitar in The Faction.
provoker is the coolest band fs
I love to see the crust/hardcore punk influences.
GISM , Havohej and Cocteau Twins . I dig their choices a lot.
Provoker - What's In My Bag? 29.4.24 1836PM softmoon....i have no concept of gaming, soz...

Middle guy kinda looks like Wayne Static. Dig Gism, Cocteau Twins, and that black metal tape.

Really good selection :) I’d love for you guys to have Bob Forrest (and maybe other Thelonious Monster members?) on What’s in My Bag soon!
Does Jonathon sing as well? He has such a great voice. I love Christian's earring. This is the first time I have heard all three speak and these guys are so precious. Love this band so much
I see someone appreciate Poison Idea, I hit like.
I don't know this band, but they picked some bangers! Gonna check em out now!

Provokative picks! I'll get my coat. Check out the Lewd. Raw punk like PI.
I am quite a fan of The Greasy Strangler.
r.i.p Doughboyy Lepe
Not aware of most of their picks, but to me, this is the best kinda WIMB - when you discover new bands.
The Poison Idea pick is ironic
lol when the guitarist complained he couldn’t understand the Cocteau twins lyrics…
I like most of their choices, but when it comes to Provoker - why wouldn't I just listen to TV On The Radio who have been doing it (better) for so long?
Because tv on the radio sucks and provoker rocks
Hey, I'm so sorry to hear about what happened to pitchfork - real bummer that they laid all their writers off so now tryhard losers have to resort to commenting on KZhead videos to share their incredibly astute musical opinions with the world.
Respectfully TOTR sounds nothing like Provoker lol
I like them both!
😴 💤
Like, like, !ike, like wtf?
I’ve never heard of these guys and after listening I just don’t get the appeal. Some of their picks are way better than their stuff though
