i love watching these but sometimes i wish i could tell u, as ur trying to figure out what things to put in a certain place, u don’t have to fill every space up!! like under the mirror or on the nightstands like it doesn’t need to be fulllll there’s beauty in simplicity and u have such amazing pieces but when there’s too much stuff it’ll never be satisfying idk that’s just me tho i love how it looks tho too

The first lamp exactly where you put it was absolutely perfect. The big floor lamp you put in second brings the visual weight down and the first lantern lamp created the most beautiful visual movement in the space because it was the perfect height!
I love how she used everything she had already. She doesn’t buy new stuff for a makeover. Alsooooooo this is your best bed room glow up/makeover ever!!!

The mirror was a good move, the light from windows hits it directly and makes the room look more bright and cozy. The night stands with the gold elements was such a great move to also brighten up the room I'm literally obsessed!!

It worked out really beautifully, a Mai oasis. And most importantly if you find it peaceful and comfortable then you hit it out the park. You really found some beautiful pieces online and at markets-those doors and side tables ❤ I love buying timeless pieces with history on auctions and online, so I love everything you got, cause it’s wonderful to mix contemporary, modern, vintage and antiques together and make it aesthetic.

Very beautiful pieces you brought into your bedroom, totally changed and upgraded the vibe. My first apt I moved into was completely bare and I picked every piece of furniture and made my bedroom feel like a hotel room. No TV, quiet, super high mattress, comfy sheets, black-out curtains, cold. 4 yrs there I loved it and absolutely LOVED sleeping in. Last January I moved into a new hse, brought the same furniture - and I've probably slept in my bedroom a total of 4 nights since. Something about the energy and vibe that just doesnt feel right..or feel like mine. Hm been struggling to find the burst of energy to do a makeover..so it was good to watch this today

I kinda of stopped watching your videos for a while, but then I came across one of your vids so I decided to catch up on everything I've missed. It's now 1 in the morning but SO WORTH IT!! this series made me clean my room that's been needing a deep clean FOREVER.
Architect here: your bed is at the worst spot it could probably be. NEVER PUT YOUR BED TOWARDS THE WINDOW. You'd know when you wake up with massive headaches. And what is better than laying in bed and having a view to a wall in front of you? No. Put it bach to it's original place. Have your sitting area by the windows. Have view while drinking your morning coffe on the sitting area.
Well it’s her room and what she likes and makes her feel peace and at home is what matters. Plus she has floor to ceiling windows in all of her apartment, maybe she gets tired of it? Who knows

I agree i loved everything else but she also tried filling up the empty wall she created making the room kind of too crouded since she already has a filled corner, a wall with big colorful doors, two tabels beside her bed, huge plants.

Your room looks amazingg & seeing your whole thought process gives me inspo to not be so caught up about how a room (or anything) "should" flow but to just do what feels good to me.. and to not get caught up on all the details before I even start. This was literally exactly what I needed. Just the immediate "how are you doing, like how are you actually doing" right off the bat hit hard. I'm also 21 and about to go into finals week at uni, but my family is making a sudden, last-minute trip this weekend to visit my grandmother. Long story short, she's been unwell and is expected to pass away soon, so we're all leaving first thing tomorrow to get on a plane to say our goodbyes. Even before this with my grandma, I was in exactly the same blah place as Mai where my brain has been tricking me all week into thinking my anxiety has come back, but like no, I'm fine lol and the feeling just won't go away. I love cleaning/organizing videos and I love getting 30 minutes of Mai, so not to make this overly serious, but for real, I'm grateful this video came out when it did.

I don't know if I'm the only one but instead of relaxing me, Mai's decorating videos make me anxious, I don't know, I despair at how indecisive she is and things like how she had already organised and decorated the livingroom and now it's a mess again with a bunch of random stuff pisses me off
it looks amazing !!! my two cents is I would put that white sofa you had in the corner of your room by your bathroom to replace the long sofa that youve put diagonal from the windows because it definitely fills that corner a lot better and the sofa creates awkward room from the sides since its too long. I also genuinely like how youve filled that blank wall where your bed used to be.
