    • In most of these situations, if the truck had hit the arsehole early on, they simply could have said the driver cut them off, and they couldn’t stop in time. Onus is then on the arsehole not the trucker. As soon as the trucker ’proves’ it was able to stop, the onus then falls to them to avoid the incident.

  • I always figured that when a semi had his blinker on, he wasn't asking to come over, he was telling me. For me it was always a losing proposition to mess with them. I try to have a high respect for all traffic and especially truckers. I have made a few mistakes and so far they have all forgiven me for it. Hats off to the big rig's.

    • When I'm coming up to an intersection I'm always aware of any truck in the left lane figuring they could turn either way so I give them plenty of leeway. Same if I'm entering from a side street and I see a big rig coming with his blinker on give him lots of room to make that turn. On occasion I'll also stop in a through intersection even though I have the right of way just to let a trucker onto the street. Especially true if I notice there's traffic behind me and the truck has been waiting for a bit for a non-existent opening.

    • "Professional" (shitty) drivers who don't know how to zipper-merge don't deserve to have a driver's license. • I got my motorcycle license last year and I ended up getting involved in a situation like this. I was passing a rig on the highway, so he didn't move over for the car entering from the on-ramp. The car ducked behind the semi, rode up on the shoulder to my left almost putting me under the trailer, and cut in front of the semi. I quickly braked and ducked behind the semi to allow him to wiggle if he needed to. The semi ended up swerving to the LH shoulder. He ended up having a witness with a helmet cam along with his own dash cam. Still the most harrowing experience I've had. You drivers have a lot of idiots like that to deal with. I feel for you guys.

If you are a professional driver, there is no point to act like a primadonna or an alpha male in every situation. Slow down a bit, let him pass, and everyone can go on their own, in peace. Without loosing a single second. And yes i know that the grey car should have let the semi, as his responsibility to merge in safely, but still, taking a collusion instead of lifting your leg of off your gas pedal for a second... is a whole new level of stupidity. You do realize that refusing to let the guy merge in due to an unforseen construction zone/ road closure and purposely tailgating him and impeding him from being able to safely merge due to the construction cones that could cause an accident is reckless endangerment right? Furthermore, the only thing unsafe I see here is you attempting to ram the 4 wheeler into a cone because you're upset he's wants to merge ahead of you. This is literally nonsense that people pulling insurance scams do. Let the guy in buddy. Share the road. There is no way in hell that the cop and both insurance companies put full blame on him. All of this could have been avoided if he would have just simply took the foot off the gas for 2.5 seconds and let the guy in. People make mistakes. Cammer wanted to rear end him so badly. He gets off to being in a bigger motor vehicle and trying to bully the 4 wheelers. Rig drivers like this should have their licenses revoked indefinitely. Wish this was me in this situation.

    • Ex-truck driver here. Driving a truck made me be a much more observant driver because people in cars have this insane ideal that a truck: straight truck or semi, can stop on a dime! Why that's in their heads, idk! But when I drove a truck, I had to keep my eye out for cars ALL the time. (there are a few of those truckers that have this ideal. "I'm not dyin' for some stupid-ass driver. I'm in a truck, the worse I might get is a broken legs, but I will not put my life in danger for someone elses stupidity. You get in my way, I'll just run you over!" No kidding, and he said that while sitting at a bar drinking whiskey shots before crawling into his semi. People in cars need to educate themselves about "all" the blind spots a truck and semi has, and to avoid them, or get out of them as soon as safely possible. Three cars can hide right behind a semi rear. Motorcycles even worse, because they're so much smaller than a car. "BLIND SPOTS". As for the trucker and the "fat, burger eatin' woman". . . .that would be a judgment on my part on the burger. However, that weird speed up and steered her van right into the trees, makes me suspicious that she might of had ideals of fraud in mind. I wouldn't have gotten out. I didn't cause nothing, camera showed everything, I would have just went on by. The trucker was a nice guy to check.

Now I know this is bigger and heavier than anything you can drive in America (assume you are American because you call it a tractor). Im telling you that my driving skills increased exponentially from driving trucks especially when you start adding multiple trailers on. All of a sudden you pay attention to everything around you because you have to. Also you can literally do anything in a car nearly and 99 times out of 100 be alright. When you weigh 120ton you need to take stopping distance into account a lot more since you takes several hundred meters to come to a stop. If you still disagree that's fine, ill maintain my opinion based on my own personal experience driving the biggest trucks in the world.

Technically yes your right...but is that a reason to potentially cause a crash...a road rage incident....put lives at risk...etc just to prove a point or be technically right? If the person is past the halfway mark of the trailer towards your truck...you back off and give them room. It takes maybe 2 seconds to do...its not going to change your arrival time in the slightest. If they are past the halfway point towards the rear of your trailer then you push ahead...maybe speed up to give them room to slide in behind you. Theres no reason to cause a huge incident just to be "right" and be an a-hole. Dealing with a potential crash and road rage will take more time out of your trip and slow you down more than just letting the stupid vehicle go. Why does everyone have to be an a-hole these days..

They’ll merge too slow, never take chances, hold up 4-way stops letting people go, etc. driving is a balance. If you get out in the intersection when crossing two lanes of traffic, you better be ready to go. If you merge, you better be ready to go. But if you feel it’s not safe to go or someone is doing something weird, it’s best to listen to your instincts and not take the chance.
