Dedicated to spreading my interpretation of the Wing Tsun system. I created the HKWTA so that I can show my students around the world how I was taught and pass on this amazing Kung fu known as Wing Chun Kuen. My respect to all the great masters throughout the history of Wing Chun.

  • I agree with your interpretation Sifu. I feel that WT is a guide for us to understand our body mechanics and learn how to use it in the most efficient way possible!

  • You talking about being fluid and adapting is exactly what Bruce Lee said and why he created Jeet Kune Do. He found the flaws about not adapting to what is happening and then changed to be able to adapt. Great video as always.

    • @@SifuChrisCollins He did have some good philosophies. And when you think about them most are/were just common sense stuff. Simple yet effective.

  • Dear SiFu Collins, Tao Te Ching - Verse 14 Look, and it can’t be seen. Listen, and it can’t be heard. Reach, and it can’t be grasped. Above, it isn’t bright. Below, it isn’t dark. Seamless, unnamable, it returns to the realm of nothing. Form that includes all forms, image without an image, subtle, beyond all conception. Approach it and there is no beginning; follow it and there is no end. You can’t know it, but you can be it, at ease in your own life. Just realize where you come from: this is the essence of wisdom. Can you please share your thoughts on how you balance ancient Daoist thought with WingTsun concept particularly regarding approach. Inner nondual approach of the Dao and the outer approach in relation to people. 🙏

  • Totaly right. Feeling the oponent, but feeling the ground.

  • Thanks Sifu Chris for the perfect analogy with classical and quantum physics. I write this because I love wing chun but it is full of control biases that Bruce Lee himself called "organized despair". You are a great talent, I have been following you for years and I hope one day to meet you to participate in your training. Starting from a scientific mindset, I would suggest trying many different types of semi-conditioned sparring. For example, using many more hooks, movement of the legs and torso, removing the illusion of always keeping front in front of the opponent's center line and using mainly linear movements. The day you can create a style that combines self defense boxing and wing chun will be a great day.

    • I am gladly waiting! But i think you did not understand what i said. Try to do wing chun in a fight with a boxer or a kick boxer or a wrestler. I have never seen anyone using wing chun at mma fights

    • I actually like to do that quite a bit when I’m training with my friends and students who do MMA. I love MMA. I use a lot of my Wing Tsun when I’m sparring. I’ll be doing some videos soon to show how I do it. Every system has its strengths and weaknesses. That’s the fun part about it. Apologies if I took your comment in the wrong way.
