Wow, thanks for doing this! Super helpful. Interesting to see the transformation throughout the years
It’s fun to look at all the changes all in one video. Crazy to see where they started and where they’re at now
take a shot every time he says blackwidow
I've been waiting for this!!!
The original black widow was my first keyboard for my first gaming pc... I gave it away a year ago and someone is still using it to this day.
The first mechanical keyboard I ever got was the Blackwidow V2, and I made my decision from watching your review of it :D
And what was ur decision
Buying the Blackwidow V2...?
@@KingXF ummm hmmmm I am pretty sure the huntsman elite is the best for the price but the Blackwidow v2 is also really good but huntsman is better
This was before the huntsman elite even released. Also I'm not sure if 200 bucks on a keyboard with cheap ABS keycaps, mediocre stabilizers, and mediocre switches is "best for the price". I bought the blackwidow V2 for $130 on Amazon btw.
@@Fulcron13 Get neither; I would recommend the Durgod Taurus K320 Nebula S with MX Reds if you want RGB. If you don't want RGB, get a Leopold FC750R with MX Reds. Both Durgod and Leopold offer some of the best prebuilt keyboards on the market. All the while both costing less than the Huntsman Elite or V2 Analog.
Hey I hope u see this but I’m looking a budget keyboard and mouse bundle I seen ur last video but it was 7 months ago by any chance could u tell me the best budget one now or do a review hope u see this thanks!
Thank goodness they still make non-floating design keyboards. Having used a keyboard with floating keycaps before left me absolutely traumatized because dust just keep getting into the keyboard (there's lots of dust from where i am from). I tried not cleaning the keyboard for around 10 days and omg it looked like ash tray inside even though i don't smoke at all.
May the legacy continue!
This is refreshing to watch, companies just release new product for their lineups every year (or two).
currently using the razer black widow v3 with the yellows... this is a pretty good compact little keyboard that can be used across multiple platforms, including tablets, which makes it the quiver killer..
After taping the stabs, lubing them, filling the keyboard with foam its good. The silenced yellow switches are the best imo, only wish razers Quality controll wasnt sleeping as some of the keys just have no silencer in them. 3 keys on my board is to much but i still kept it as i only noticed it after i opened up the board😑.
I still use my blackwidow elite, almost 3 years!
my brother to
I've had mine since 2013, works perfectly lol blackwidow ultimate
I'm still gaming on my 2014 Blackwidow and curious if a new one would poll faster in competitive games.
My first mechanical keyboard was the 2011 Stealth Ultimate was a great keyboard at the time.
I still have the 1st version of Blackwidow Ultimate. Still works perfectly, I just don't want or need to replace it because it's still perfect - it also doesn't show any tear signs since it's glossy and not matted so when I clean it thoroughly it looks brand new
You have any ghosting issues with theOG widow?
@@mastrbutcher no, nothing
I still use my 2013 Black Widow Ultimate. It's got Cherry Blues
whats better the blackwidow v2 or blackwidow 2019?
The Boards with white bases make the lighting so much better... My first widow was the original Chroma and the RGB was just amazing, It just explodes with light and can light up the room... After that finally gave in on me, I eventually saved up and grabbed the BW Elite, and while it overall feels great The lighting was super disappointing to me... Without The enclosure and White base, The LEDs are swamped by the black and it ends up looking about 50% as bright as the original chroma... Every time i focus on the lighting it looks as if i have the brightness turned way down and that's just sad... I'm hoping some high quality Pudding caps will breath some new life into it
I don't know why but the old mx blue switches sound so much better than even the new ones
Excelent Video!
Thank you
Blackwidow V2 TE Orange Switches...not sure why they stopped doing the tactile switches.
The best video that i need for education purpose of keyboard Razer Blackwidow. You don't know how much time I was looking for information for the evolution of the Razer Blackwidow. I have a Razer Blackwidow Chroma V1, that I find on recycler bin on Ikea.😁😁😁 A win for me and I get sucked in to the universe of Razer Looking for Razer Kraken Hypersense, just waiting for low prices or second hand. Only downside is USB only I wish to use it on mp3 or some device with 3.5mm jack to plug in.
was wondering if you would do another video up till 2024?
Im still using and gaming with the original Blackwidow Elite keyboard. Great keyboard absolutely nothing wrong with it.
I am so confused, I have a product that apprently dosent exist anywhere I look, it just says Razer Blackwidow on the box but none of them look like mine
I just got the black widow v3 mini and my A key double presses or sometimes it doesn’t register. I’ve already sent back a huntsman tkl because it made a horrible ping sound. I think razer might be a hard pass for me in the future.
I finally just upgraded ive been using the same 2013 blackwidow ultamate. Finnally spilled enough dang water in it
I am still using the Blackwidow Chroma from 2014 and it's still working like it was on the day I bought it
Well then yours must be magical???
@@Zam-Buk_Gaming using mine since 4 years or so aswell, with the only seitch really broken being the caps lock. recently ordered the huntsman v2 analog and i'm hyped 'bout it xd
I've had my blackwidow ultimate since 2013, works perfectly lol back when i used to play starcraft
Daaamn im still using the first razer mechanical keyboard and its still amazing but i wish i had newer razer keyboard 😞
Me too. Using for 7 years. I think new razer blackwidow is not so good like it.
I wish it was still hella popular tbh
The original black widow is one of the favorites in my opinion because of how old it looks.
I still have the original one
If I would have the Chance to get a new unused Blackwidow from 2011, I would buy it. It was the best Keyboard I ever had
My fav is Logitech g915 tkl :)
I followed all these releases, but why they can't do high profile boards. If 65% would be cheaper I may grab it as couch keyboard. But as it is not optical not sure Why all of their stabilised keys sounds like clicky switch... oh wait
I remember when these keyboards are my childhood dream. This year is gonna my first time having a Razer keyboard. I'm so excited!
Razer GOAT
The video everyone had to see. A thing is sure, one can get very baffled when buying a Blackwidow keyboard P.S. I am first
I miss the V2 TE orange switch. Selling it was a huge regret. All the razor keyboards I bought since then are much worse, even the huntsman te.
I want razer to make a blackwidow mini 60%
Yay
Me just here using a corsair keyboard....
Oh, come on, we all know that Razer switches are pure gimmick and marketing. Happy to see a SteelSeries overview through the years, since they we before Razer to start the mechanical gaming boards thing :)
Wait, you said Razor invented the mechanical keyboard with the first Blackwidow. But, hold on, from all of what I read, and I also own one from this brand, I thought SteelSeries was the creator of the modern mechanical keyboard! It even says so on their keyboard boxes. To quote: "From the INVENTORS of the FIRST MECHANICAL Gaming Keyboard".....this is plastered right on my Apex 7 box. So what gives? Is this some ruse? I know mechanical keyboards have been around since the 70's, and IBM made one of the finest models ever with the Model M, but to claim Razor "invented" the modern mechanical keyboard is rather confusing. What about SteelSeries? What about their claim? I'm so confused right now.
Neither company invented mechanical keyboards. Like you said they’ve been around for much longer than that but Razer was the first gaming brand to make a gaming focused mechanical board. I looked at what you’re talking about and it looks like flashy branding saying that they invented the first gaming centric mechanical keyboard “with finger tip precision” just marketing fluff.
@@Brainbean Well, whomever made the first gaming centric mechanical keyboard, I really don't care. It wasn't what sold me on the SteelSeries Apex 7. But it's just a bit confusing to see that, then hear Razor was supposedly the first. Anyways, no biggie, it's just a bit weird. I love my SteelSeries Apex 7 keyboard. I've had it now for about 7 months and have found it to be one bad ass keyboard! Thanks for the reply!
Lol yes your words aren’t limited but it’s obvious that your not supposed to have a negative take on anything lol. It’s not the same as someone doing an objective video
third
Ofc razor would have to sponsor it’s own history video to even get one LMAO. I own one but let’s not forget their cutomer service is trash and if you do have an issue your just screwed straight up
Since the beginning of the V3, Blackwidow's became freaking ugly. The Razer's PBT and Doubleshot ABS font is just bad (i mean look at the "pause", "pg dn" and many others... It's not even correctly lit by the RGB) Even the typing experience is less good, stabs are mediocre on the v3 models
