  • You cannot measure the quality of a fighter just by counting significant strikes. I think Khamzat is an amazing fighter, but what he was saying about never been hit backfired a bit after the 120 significant strikes by Gilbert Burns.

    @edmonddantes4705@edmonddantes47052 жыл бұрын
    • I wouldn’t consider that as “backfired” I think anyone who gets into the Octagon with a Ranked 2# fighter (burns) would get hit with a couple of significant strikes. Khamzat stepping into the octagon with substantially less experience and going the distance with burns proved that he was the real deal and not someone who just fights bums.

Hamzat is able to get down any fighter and his ground game on the top level. Shavkat is much bigger than usual welterweight n top striker of top strikers in UFC, apart of it he also good on the ground. Colby would be eaten by both of these guys.

That's why I'm bought in on him. I'm always wary of prospects who constantly have to attach their names to others, ie Ian Garry. This dude is constantly comparing himself to Conor. • Khamzat is a bit too overconfident for me to think he would win against Rakhmonov. On one side you have Chimaev, who is often not very mindful of his opponents ability, and rushes face first into damage. We saw this with Burnes. Chimaev has an innate ability to smother and dominate his opponent, but in the process he neglects to defend himself. Whereas Rakhmonov is a far more mindful fighter. His defensive game is top tier, and his ability to slip a punch is just as good as his ability to land one. He’s dangerous, I think he’s be ESPECIALLY dangerous for Khamzat. Chimaevs tendency to try and rush an outcome or finish would get him in a lot of heat against Rakhmonov in my opinion. And I really don’t think it would go Khamzats way in the fight between the two. Rakhmonov really likes striking, and seems to have become quite proficient at it. His stand up defense is kinda crazy, and his counters and very accurate and pretty powerful to top it. We’ve seen him take minimal damage while dealing maximum damage, finishing 15 guys in pretty brutal fashion. Thing is, Khamzat likes to finish fights quick. Shavkat likes to take his time. And Skavkats ability to hang in there for round after round while maintaining his energy and composure is very impressive. He fights multiple rounds and doesn’t slow down. Whereas Khamzat was very visibly gassed by the second round with Gilbert Burnes. He expends energy too quickly trying to rush a finish. And going against actually higher ranked and higher skilled fighters with that approach will get him in trouble. We’ve seen Khamzat get rocked and wobbled because of this approach. And I have never, not once, seen Shavkat get wobbled. Only thing I can think of where Khamzat might have an advantage is wrestling. That being said, Shavkat has very good ground game and is able to escape from ground control very proficiently. We’ve seen him manage to keep fights with pretty proficient wrestlers standing. I really don’t think Khamzat could beat Shavkat, I really don’t. And for that reason, I would REALLY like to see them fight.

  • Shavkat is a better fighter as far as iq and being technical, but I think Khamzat has him in strength power and aggression. While aggression might not play as big as a part as you think, I believe Jon Jones rise to arguably the best fighter ever was his aggression. If you look at Jon Jones in his earlier years I think his best feature in the octagon is his disregard for human life. I’m not talking about outside the cage problem but inside the cage. Dude fought like an animal with a mind set of if you die than you just die. Once you stepped in the cage with him he had no remorse of what was going to happen. And I think that made him the fighter he became. While I don’t think Khamzat is at that level of aggression I don’t see shavkat being at say gsp or khabib fight iq yet. I think it would be a wonderful fight of brawn vs brain

  • I've watched a few of Rahkmanov's fights and I think he's good, but he's not as good as Khamzat. Rahkmanov's movement isn't as fluid and he puts himself in situations where he gets hit. Problem for Rahkmanov is that he's better than the people he fought, but IMO, isn't on another level to them, yet. Once he fights someone in the top 10 we'll see how he really compares and I think he'll struggle, in comparison to Khamzat. Khamzat is lighter on his feet and I think more tactical, with better MMA fight IQ. We'll find out tonight when he fights No. 2.

His coach wasn't happy and he admitted he fucked up and like anyone without a real plan, gassed out by the 2nd round. If B.Khamzat shows up again in future he won't be single champ, double champ, let alone triple champ! If Triple C. Khamzat shows up at the next fight, then he's back on track. My last point. Even fighting at his worst, that I've ever seen, in his Pro career, he beat the No. 2. He belongs in the top 5. In The next fight we'll see if he's destined for greatness or mediocrity.
