I get the angle you’re coming from about the song. But I feel that you shouldn’t generalize. There are still people that if God calls them a million times, they will answer. Then we have others that are growing and striving to be like that. Our Christian life is all about growth. It’s step-by-step. So it could be that the person who sang the song genuinely meant what he said. So the song is true but it doesn’t just apply to everybody. It depends on our relationship with God. If we nurture our Christian life well we will get to the stage where when we sing the song, we don’t feel any guilt because we genuinely mean it. It’s just like saying I want to grow my natural hair. If I don’t take good care of it, it will not grow or it will be stagnant. Normally, there will be days when I don’t feel like doing anything but when I remember the reasons why I’m doing it, I will. Another instance is studying for exams, there are days when I won’t feel like that’s where discipline, determination, and other attributes come in. So I get you, but I feel like you shouldn’t generalize. It's like saying all men and women are scum. Lol While we have some are scum, it doesn't mean that everybody is scum.

Hi, Maraji. I absolutely loved your vlog as always. I agree with you on how our faithfulness wavers as a believer and how God is so good. We love him because he first loved us. We are not perfect but that’s where the help of the Holy Spirit comes in. The song is a confession, it’s what our reality is supposed to be as believers. Paul actually asks us to be “good soldiers of Christ” in 2 Timothy 2:3-4 and he also informs us many times that we no longer live for ourselves but for Christ. We are saying that “we will answer a billion times” by the help of the Holy Spirit.
Lol Maraji, I love you but there are Christians who will answer a million times. We have those of us who are willing to die daily to self and lay it all for Christ. The song is true for those who live on that pedestal. It's literally the reality of many christians. It isnt saying they are perfect, it is saying they understand the sacrifice of dying to self. There are bible characters who lived in this reality. Our century is no different. And attaining that level of relationship is not blasphemous or "untrue" That's why we are unique in our walks. The christian who still struggles is not any less a christian than the person who will in a heartbeat say yes. It shows the beauty of a progressive walk in Christ.

That’s why Jesus is the perfect man , only him could fulfill the Law , so no , there is no day that goes by that we do not fail , but thank God that it’s not by works but by His grace . Even Paul , one of the fathers of our faith puts it best “ ROMANS 7:15- For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do-this I keep on doing

It means you will follow God even when you are unsure and full of doubt. That is what God wants, God doesn't want a superhero and as you rightly said, we lean on his faithfulness, this is what God wants us to do. You will get to a level of relationship with God where you are always ready whenever He speaks or calls you. May God give us the courage needed to follow him even in our weaknesses.

About the song, to say that what he said is not true is not entirely accurate. I understand where you were coming from, and the struggle to really follow God with utmost faithfulness. But in the song, the writer was expressing HIS relationship with Jesus, where he has come to the point of commitment to the Lord. So many have come to that point where believing, following and devotion to God isn't wavering. This is not to say that there wouldn't be times where it would seem difficult, but to retract is nearly impossible for them. This is illustrated when Paul said in 1 Corinthians 15:21(AMP) "i die to self" The writer also referred to himself as a soldier with Jesus as the commander, and just as a soldier doesn't refuse direct orders, so he(the writer) is ready to answer the call of Jesus. It might not always be rosy, and like you said the will to "rest" sometimes might be there, but just as Paul said again in 1 Corinthians 9:27, "i keep my body under subjection" and this can only be done with the help of the Spirit of God through constant fellowship in prayer and the word.

I feel you about that song and I’m actuality, a lot of the more recent songs seems more about self gratification and not praise and reverence to God….
