  • Nice working machine. Everyone thinks they are easy to build. Most people couldn't even route the hoses after everything else was built. I made my own 36" stroke splitter with auto cycle, 4 way hydraulic adjust wedge and hydraulic power for conveyer. It took a lot of thinking, tack welding and grinding to get everything to work. And was a pile of money. After that I was planning to build a processor but decided I would be in for just as much money anyway so I bought a Wallenstein processor.

    • Thank you, and you're right. You have to be thinking about hoses when you mount everything. And don't be scared to write a big check to the hose shop. Not every machine can be built with farm store cheap hoses. It's hard to engineer a good balance of ergonomics, weight, function, cost, efficiency, engine power, hydraulics etc. I've seen untold amounts of videos of processors both commercially produced and homemade and I see room for improvement in almost all of them. Including mine! The trick is to find the balance that fits your situation.

    • Me too. Planning on it. Still unsure the best way to go about it. Either mask a million things, or spend a week tearing down, or just deal with overspray... Ugh

    • @@BigBlue12V I would mask the spools and rams so the paint doesn’t ruin the seals. Tires and start spraying. No matter what paint looks better than rust and you want it to last.
