How Powerful is the M109A6 Paladin Howitzer, and Does It Really Shoot that far?
Paladin was first fielded in 1994. The widely used M109 carries a 155-mm howitzer and is the principal self-propelled artillery support for U.S. Army divisions. It is a large tracked vehicle with a fully traversable turret and prominent bustle. Early variants had a short, 23-caliber barrel. Later versions, including the M109A6 Paladin, have a 39-caliber barrel.
The Paladin can operate independently, from on the move, it can receive a fire mission, compute firing data, select and take up its firing position, automatically unlock and point its cannon, fire and move out - all with no external technical assistance. Firing the first round from the move in under 60 seconds, a "shoot and scoot" capability protects the crew from counterbattery fire. The M109A6 Paladin is capable of firing up to four rounds per minute to ranges of 30 kilometers.

King of Battles!
Worked on it on 1995
I had the honor of feeling of pin before I left before retired oh my God
Only 155mm L/39 = 21km range where L52 give 30+ km in A7 they might use L57 gun with 40-50km range
It is insidious, shoot and run, changes its position very quickly, its navigation system is pointing and digital.
I was on the 109a2. In Germany.
As a former Platoon Sergeant aka SMOKE, I see some many safety violations on this video that I would have had to decertify the crews.
Might need more exercise
I was a E5 myself and I said the same thing....we would be doing some training on a few of those that I'd for sure
I've got one of these at home, only I have not enough room for any genuine target practice...
I Got 10 min In my traine !! Aint it Nice to know Or how?

You have no idea what ammo they realy have for these.
I used some pretty gnarly stuff in 2003, but even some of the standard rounds are pretty nasty if you happen to upset the wrong fist.
Funny part is: Three of them got destroyed by Russian system „Grad“
@@chrizzi920 Because they used them badly and brought them closer to the range of the Russian army... What do you say about the A-50 and Tu-22 that were shot down?
@@robertstimac2428 just normal losses.
I didn't like it After the M110A2 was retired, I "had" to learn the 109's... I disliked them immediately! I am 6'3". 13B30H

And treacherous.
Unless it has changed the maximum effective range is 20k not 30 correct
K9 is much better than M109A6 Paladin.

panzerhaubitze 2000 is the King

If this can be translated the A6 version was created in 1991. Basically an improved version of the original.
Panzerhaubitze 2000!!!its better !
G6 Rhino 76km range!
