8 years? He destroyed her and her parents lives, and he only got 8 years? I'm am absolutely shocked.
He needs lots of jail time - more than his sentence !!!!
SIX years,I think.That is unbelievable 😢
He only got 6 years. 8 was recommend, but he got 6.
God forbid you have marijuanna though, cause that'd give you a 5 year sentence.
@tacosyk okayyy?!!!!If he would have just had one joint, maybe none of this would have happened. But seriously,SIX YEARS????It's incomprehensible
WHY DO THEY HIDE THEIR FACES?!? And not the victims… this keeps happening
In Korea they have to because of their defamation laws. Even if it is the truth that you’re telling you could get in trouble for defamation.
@@jennifervaughn1541 are you saying that victims aren't protected by same law? So laws says something like thus: " This law is protecting every Korean citizen except following three categories of citizens: victims of violent crimes, celebrities, and k-pop idols".... ??? Right.
@@0xyGen_2.p0 yes, if it is something bad like a crime then yes, they can get in trouble for showing their face. also for instance if you have had a bad experience with a company, and you voice it to you know everyone around you or whatever even if it’s true, that company can sue you for defamation
corruption of law system that defends the guy instead of the victim everywhere
@@jennifervaughn1541 woah, that's messed up, ngl. This guy is being sentenced for a violent crime, so shouldn't public interest/safety trump defamation?
I can't believe they only gave 6 years for destroying a person's life, but yet if you smoke pot they want to throw you in prison for life. The Korean justice system is so effed up. I wanted to live in korea, but this makes me not want to. I fear for my safety as a woman.
South Korea , not North .
@@debbiel.wilk1824 Yes, she should move to North Korea, she will be safer.
Justice in Korea? Sad to say they don't have that.
They don't know the meaning of justice. I thought going to Korea would be great BUT now tell women to run away from there.
It's NOT A GOOD PLACE for women it seems. There's a lot of mysogyny.
Yes, Korean judicial system here is very broken, especially that we also have the lowest gender rights equality and the highest suicide rate.
@dj4u827 settle down it's not like rapist and murders don't get lite sentences in the USA or Europe the justice system Is broke everywhere
That‘s a horrible crime no matter the weight of the victim. The ruling is to light. Are the laws really so soft for such crimes in Korea?
Too light indeed .
Yes, it seems so. From what I have seen they are very lenient on their criminals.
@@jennifervaughn1541 But mostly only if the victim was a woman.
As a Korean male myself, yes. It's daunting and difficult to fight here in court.
Girl the Korean justice system is total trash, a man got 11 years for raping and sodomy of and 8 year old girl that left her peeing through a bag all because he was “drunk” how freaking outrageous!!!!!, not only that but once you commit a crime as a miner no matter how bad they will only get community service
The family should sue the man and his family since he is/was a minor for compensation on the hospital bills and other damages.
Sadly, if he’s rich or well-off, his family gains the upper hand period. Even if he assaults a foreigner, his family will fight in court until his pathetic 'life' gets released and he can walk the earth again. They'll present money as bribery and if that doesn't work, then they'll use money to hide the evidence and make the situation worse. Korean government system supports only those with money. Unless the evidence is so shocking that it has to be God level.
Im actually suprised he even got jail time when usually minors get off with juvi or community service in korea.
💜💜💜😑 It’s absolutely disrespectful to call that 🤬🤬🤬 her friend. What kind of “friend!” does that to a person and shows no remorse or apology? I hope the family wins the appeal. SMDH 💜💜💜💜
That mf knew she was light, like he could see that & feel that as he lifted her up.
SIX YEARS??ARE YOU F'N KIDDING ME?😮THAT IS A SLAP IN THE FACE!??
I'm stuck on the fact that 5 years was what was going to go for it and then its being moved to 8 but they only got 6. Is she recovering in 6 years?!, Is that family going to get their daughter back as she was when she left on that trip?. He should spend his life behind bars for what he did. I won't fault his family for his actions because some people can be utter trash although they had wonderful parents and family. They become monsters when they leave their homes, this may be such a case so who knows. He, solely is a monster and should be kept away from the public because what he did here is just as bad as murder.
Well if you don't have money and status, you don't have justice⚖ This is the situation in all countries not only in 🇰🇷Korea There is no justice for poor and middle class people.
That's true
That is so true! It is like that in the US too, but maybe not as severe.
Korea has one the worst justice system. I feel so sorry for the victim and her family she is so young for her life to be taken away like that.
Idkat take a look at USA and Europe their JS is just as broke
And that another person was just filming!?
Eating soy at the same time
Even as someone who doesn't live in Korea, eveytime i watch this kind of news, i already knew the suspect mostly got away.
Justice for this young girl , this day lot of korean young men having trouble being violence.
Violent .
Skorea is a country where judiciary and judicial system is more guilty that the culprit itself😂😂😂
Originally the sentence was 5 years, moved up to 8 years. It never matters what they do, they always get the lightest possible sentence. Even the guy who raped the 8 year old girl only got 12 years and he is out now.
Same in Europe and America lite sentences
Korea has no justice system. This is shocking but it happens every time. This country needs major reform in its judicial system.
They really do need major reform. The USA could stand to have the same, imo
Korea has no justice system? Didn't the attacker get sent3nced to jail for 6 years? At least he got something. In other countries, depending on your status, you can walk away with nothing.
@@iu2 In which countries would you not receive a sentence for this crime?
Par for the course on how women and girls are treated in S Korea.
Problem in korea the victim face is being revield while the perpetrator face being bluerd , What a shame
In my country of the us he would gotten about 20 to 30 years in prison
Really? I disagree. Can't rely on that happening in the US, especially the way they keep taking away our rights.
I doubt it. I watch too many true crime videos where murderers get even less than 8 years.
@@alexandraazure you know cases get pled down all the time, right? Google the minimum sentences for manslaughter in your state.
Her life is over as she knew it, she will need medical care for the rest of her life. Justice hasn’t been served but what’s new?
Usually if there is no chance of recovery then the family is usually asked to pull the plug too, that is worldwide not just Korea.😢
Wtf he needs to be jailed forever!!!
Omg. Should be life imprisonment
Justice is a joke in South Korea..
Justice is broke everywhere dummy
in USA worse and in Mexico worse and in India worse etc etc etc
that aint a woman!!!! thats a kid!!!!!!!! pls don't mislead the topic!
This is why we choose the bear. That light sentence is a joke.
Too bad kdrama "Vigilante" isn't true.
I just cried with her. My god! 😢
44kg woman left in vegetative state after being beaten by male acquittance
5 years for attempted murder??
She needs justice ASAP 🙏 korean judicial system, justice is the only answer. Full support to the victim family, south Korean people don't spare this accused. From India🇮🇳
Indeed, justice was not served commensurate to the heinous crime for this criminal case. A big flaw in South Korean society!! All my heart and prayers go to the victim and her family!❤
Omg poor girl,6years in prison😮
If he was in the US, he would have gotten a longer sentence, 6 years ain't sh!t.
There is no justice in Korea! That poor woman! Her poor family!
Scary ......
My heart is completely broken for this beautiful young girls family. I pray for a miracle of restoration for that sweet child. IN Jesus holy name...amen.
Poor girl 😥
Merci, yikes bad idea school trip
8 years? Even in banana republics youd get 50 years for that
SAY HER NAME 🗣️🗣️
What does her weight have to do with this story? It doesn't give the weight of the assailant. So there's no point at all it's there.
Life in prison
Why Korean justice is so nonchalant when it’s about this kind of awful situations ????the whole system should change the law seems to side with perpetrators
The misogynistic laws in south korea are incredibly sad
No apology?? and the criminal only get 8 years?? disbelieve
Of course, Korean media still protects the perpetrator's face and identity.
Some of their laws are weird and unrealistic
Justice is nowhere to be found in Korea especially for women. LoL what a big joke
8 years? That is so weak
Some "friend"!!
What a developed country!!! And they judging and mocking about another country's social system. Bloody double standards
I see why these women started the 4b movement.
Is this a music video or a news report? And why does the reporter speak so unnaturally?
It's worst than killing the person. It's korean oppa nowadays?
Where was the logic in making the sentencing so light compared to the crime? It's sentencing like these that make ppl not think twice abt committing or recommitting these crimes. And why wasn't the criminal face shown but the victim's was??
It's consistent with everything Korea does. They don't give a fuck about domestic abuse at all.
4B
The Korean justice system is a joke. That man could have gotten life in the U.S. This is so sad.
No he may have gotten more jail time but technically she’s still alive however if she’s dies they could up his charges to manslaughter or murder in the 2 degree meaning it was not premeditated in US.
@@stephaniegriffin7176Exactly!
I don't know who started the first violence but men or women. Don't engage into any act of violence over an argument if you know you can't win.....unless it's for self defence
What triggered these events? I want to know the full context behind it. (its no excuse).
I want BTS to say something about the justice system. I really really do.
What do you want BTS to say ? Namjoon loves his country .
BTS are not responsible for everything that happens in South Korea. Why should they make a statement? It has nothing to do with them.
What is BTS?
@@CrimsonGhost553 Are you serious?
@@Miami799 yes, what is it?
